Day 9.. Feeling tired today. My son was up bright and early at 4:30am!!! Grr- overall feeling pretty good, despite being tired my first instinct wasn't to drink 2 pots of coffee before 8.. Lots of water and great breakfast has kept me full only 2 cups of coffee.. I will power thru this slump.

Day 6, I'm getting fuller on a lot less food. Feeling amazing this morning, despite it being hectic first day for my Autistic 8 yr old son.. He was not happy abtt going to school, but when he saw his Aid he started laughing, and ran to hug her- he was soo happy.. I almost cried!!! it was soo sweet. Went for a 4 mile walk after, it was a lil tougher but I did it in just under 1 hour... Pushing thru emoticon

Day 4 - Round 2

Finished my first round at the end of July and have had the hardest time committing to a second one. Lots of stops and starts. Anyone else experience this with their second go round?

Anyways feeling pretty good today. Maybe a little quick to anger....or maybe that's normal for me emoticon

Bring on day 5!!

Glad to see this team started back up. I am not currently on a round so cheering you all on.

ALOFA0509, sugars are hard. The converse is interesting. We found some bacon at Trader Joes that has sugar listed in the ingredients but ZERO grams in the nutrition section.

Cynthia, have you seen this calendar? It may be a day off in one direction or another but a pretty good idea of what you are going through and what lies ahead.

We love our coffee and found the Nutpods to be so good that we use them when we are not on a round. Amazon sells them but also Homegoods. The French Vanilla or Hazelnut may give you the sweetness without sugar. We never put sugar in our coffee so use the original.

Here is my blog from Round1. Might give you some ideas.

Day 3 I'm feeling really good. I was a bit overwhelmed with the Sugar thing. I saw on Whole30 message board: No ADDED Sugar in the Ingredient list is where it counts, not the Nutritional Value section. Some products have natural sugar in them, its the added sugar in the Ingredient List that we need to watch..

Day 5 a bit cranky, wanted to escape or burn down the place. Lips are chapped and I feel a cold sore coming on. Cold sore is usually the result of amino acid imbalance. Maybe lay off the nuts?

Day 32. Yesterday I ate green peas. They were just as good as I remembered. I'm still indecisive about July 4th and the barbecue I've been invited to. I think I'll just eat before I go, so I won't be tempted by all those bbq goodies.

Post Whole 30...I am continuing with a modified plan. This program really changed in a big way my connection (obsession) with the scale, the way I relate to food and helped cripple my sugar habit. Additionally, I am much more aware of what I put in my body as well as how I grocery shop (I am amazed at how much sugar there is in almost everything!!).

One day at a time....sometimes one moment at a time.

Day 27. So close. I don't want to go back to my old way of eating because I feel so much healthier doing this. I thought I would miss so many things, but I really don't. I'm going to keep going for at least another 30 after I add back the 3 foods I do miss.

Day 22 and still going strong. I'm amazed at what I don't miss. The three things I'm looking forward to adding back into my are: green peas (love the flavor and they have lots of fiber), butter (I never really use that much of it, but still miss it occasionally) and parmesan cheese on my spaghetti and meatballs (I spiralize a zucchini or two for the noodles). Peas will be the first thing to go back on my menu.

Day 19. Yesterday a group of us went out for pizza to celebrate Father's day but I ate my Whole30 lunch before we went so I was able to resist pizza. Also didn't drink soda - my 19th day without it. Today there aren't so many temptations around, so I should be okay.

Day 18. Yesterday I had kind of a hungry day, but I still managed to stay within my calorie range. Along with committing to Whole30, I also committed to going to the gym every day for the entire 30, which I've also been managing. In fact, I'm actually starting to enjoy it (a first for me) and I'm totally in love with the rowing machine. Also drinking lots of water and getting more sleep Those were my four goals for June, and so far, so good.

Congratulations! You're both doing amazing! It's been a long time since I've done a Whole30. I think my body is begging for one. I'm feeling a lot of mental resistance to committing to 30 days. But, I need to start by just starting. Day 1 of of a W1 and then just keep renewing my resolve each morning. My body will be thanking me soon.

This is day 15 for me. I'm halfway there, and I have to say I am amazed at how NOT difficult it has been so far. I thought I was going to really miss dairy. I don't. I thought I was going to go into withdrawal without my diet colas. I didn't. (I've tried several times to stop drinking diet sodas, and failed each time. This time I started drinking sparkling water, and I get my fizz without the chemicals. It worked like a dream.) I thought I would get tired of the dietary restrictions. I'm not. I thought I would be hungry. I'm SO not hungry. I'm feeling much happier, much healthier, and I'm sleeping better. As a lifetime insomniac, this is a big plus. Yay, Whole30. I'm seriously considering Whole 60 or Whole 90.

Day 11.....the day many people quit. The book has been so helpful to recognize these stages and give hints for how to get through them. I keep asking myself can I live with this program after the 30 days? I think I can. It hasn't really been that difficult and I do like the food. I feel completely nourished for the first time in a long time so I don't have the normal cravings and my snacking is minimal. Late night eating was a problem, but no more. Three meals really carry me through the day....this really shocked me. Things are changing......for the good!

Day 8. The "phases" I have gone through have not been extreme but I did have a dream about cutting up little buns and making them into tiny croutons and sprinkling them on everything I ate! My husband is doing this with me and he asked about having chocolate covered watermelon. So yeah, a little fantasizing has been happening but other than that it has been okay.

I'm on day 3, second day of hangover. Yesterday I had a really bad headache, but today it's mostly gone. Not looking forward to "kill all things" day. It may have started early. This morning I told DH that tomorrow is my kill all things day and I'm starting with him. He said "I love you, honey." I've explained the program to him, so he knows he'd better go fishing for a couple of days. He's a wonderful man and I don't know how he manages to put up with me. He's very supportive, even when I'm feeling homicidal. I guess I'd better keep him around.
