I want to thank-you for sharing. I have been falling back in my ways and old thinking. I did not exercise at all last week and I have not gotten on the scale. I am so glad I happened across what you wrote as I do not want to continue going the wrong way. Tomorrow is Monday and I can start again and I feel so much better when I am doing my best! Thanks for your warning and I want to encourage you back. We can be our best! We can feel, look, and be our best! Please Lord help us to stay encouraged and heading in the right direction! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I started off strong and followed the program closely for the first 8 months - I lost 45 pounds by eating right and exercising. But then I picked up a few nasty chest colds in a row, lost my motivation, and feel back into old habits. So then I gained back close to 25 pounds. I am embarrassed to see how quickly that happened! Clothes stopped fitting (I had given away my "big" clothes) and I started to feel really down about it - I told myself I could either keep gaining or return to the program.

So here I am - about 3 weeks into it again! This is my first message too - I enjoyed reading everyone's responses and wish everyone much success! It is so important for us to treat our bodies with respect :).

Hi Everyone! I lost 17 pounds last year, but got completely off track and gained it all back! I just started again today. I hope I'm more successful with sticking with it this time!

Hi Ellen and everyone. I got off to a great start last fall and lost about 7 pounds, was eating well and exercising regularly for about 3 months. Then I injured my knee, and it took more than 6 months to recover, including doing physical therapy. My activity level went way down, and my work responsibilities went up, so I was less active and stopped using SparkPeople. Sadly, I actually gained 15 pounds over that 6-month period, so I erased my progress and then some. But the GOOD news is, I loved being on SparkPeople and know that it works. I've started sparking again just recently, my knee is completely healed, and I even have a work assignment that will allow me to work from home for the next 2 months--which means I can take a mid-day break and walk to the pool near my house and swim laps! I have set an achievable goal to lose 45 pounds over an 8-month period, and I feel optimistic about attaining it, with the help of Spark Coach and this great online community!

Well, this is it! What a busy week, eh?! BHS@LasVegas, 4th of July. Vacations. I know you all are busy and for those who care or are interested ... still ... (thank you)... For me ... a milestone and an anniversary ... today. One year ago I decided to flip my life. I had no idea I would be - where I am today. July 1 2013 - embarked to improve my health. Big time. Set a goal to lose weight and rid myself of diabetic and other drug therapies. Weigh-in at 175 pounds by July 1 2014. I figured it was a "lofty" goal. Really. lol. (luck). Well. Wow. Goal achieved. Goal surpassed. 167 pounds. That's 89 pounds lost. In one year. That's exactly 100 pounds from my all-time high early last winter (2012-13). And I feel GREAT! No more drugs! No more insulin. Low blood pressure. No cholesterol issues. A1C normal. Liver looking real good. And I'm loving the daily exercise. Need it. Want it. Yeah - my focus has been ... well ... on me. I needed to do this. Thank you ALL for YOUR endurance, patience, support and your good wishes. Should I change my username again? "Lost89in1year" ???

Yup. Approaching the ONE-YEAR, first-year anniversary since I started this adventure - and discovered a new ME. In 11 months, I have lost 84 pounds - and I FEEL GREAT! New clothes, new perspective - new reasons to get-out and GO! I am really grateful for Sparkpeople.com and this community. I have embraced it and I am rewarded. THANK YOU. I talk about it everywhere I go and I wear the shirt proudly. Ready to crash those meetings at WW and NS! lol.

Hop right back on the wagon Sherry, there's plenty of room for you. emoticon

WTG Sherrie great job on your loss. I have a fitbit activity tracker and it works with Sparkpeople. I really like it.

I have gotten a couple of replys by spark mail one has done well with her weight loss and the other quit smoking July 1 so is approaching her 1 year. mark.

Hoping to hear from more people.

Hi Ellen. I think this is a great idea and I am interested to see the results too. emoticon
I didn't get real serious until Oct. myself. I am feeling better and so much healthier in every way! I just got around to getting the activity tracker and wish I had gotten it months ago. It just automatically does it all for you! I have lost over 30 # s ! emoticon My cats and I are much happier and they are eating healthier too and when everyone is eating better they feel better. It is so amazing to me. I ate junk over Memorial Day and felt just terrible, sluggish, depressed and all those old "bad" feelings. I am so happy to be free today with the Lord's help I can do anything. I have signed up with Sparkpeople 5K training and I am in my 2nd week of their training! emoticon emoticon I have cut out most processed food and I read labels and if it says corn anything or has MSG's I don't eat it because that sets my sugar cravings off! I feel so strong and love it! emoticon emoticon Have about 20 more though to go.

It has been almost 1 year since we joined Spark-People. How has everyone been doing?
I am down 19 lbs so far was down lower but put a good bit back on this winter when I wasn't exercising because of some physical limitations with my knee. I am back on track and getting the weight back off.
