Well, it's not like I make chocolate cakes on a frequent basis!

This recipe has some expensive ingredients and is high in calories and fats. If I'm going to make something like that then I'd be celebrating some special occasion and I don't know anyone that seriously into keto. But please share the recipe if you find a low calorie chocolate truffle cake preferably with whole food ingredients!

Anytime I bake for the family I use sugar (I don't eat it, though -- just tinkers w/my blood glucose). I am sure that if that recipe appeals, just use sugar. Makes sense.

It was really hard to find the ingredient list. They make it sound "all natural" and it's not in my opinion. I don't like the marketing because it is kind of deceptive. From what I read, I think the bottomline is small amounts of products using these ingredients won't kill most people. It will go right through most people. I think it is mostly being marketed to keto fans.

I was surprised to see that erythritol and oligosaccharides are common ingredients in lots of low calorie products. Sugar alcohols don't have to be listed on an ingredient list. I've probably eaten some of these ingredients (but not the Swerve product) lots of times without knowing it. "Natural flavors" is a meaningless phrase for all sorts of possible additives that a manufacturer can add to a product.

I won't avoid the ingredients if I see it listed on stuff but I won't go out of my way to look for Swerve. I'll keep using granulated sugar. I like that it has one ingredient: sugar.

Funny how that article was written so close to Fran's blog about evening routines. Maybe everyone is feeling the long nights of winter!

Well ... those ideas don't work for everyone. I'm not a fan of any one of them. In my experience, this isn't the best time of year for after-dinner walks. There's that stop eating at 7 idea again ... odd that an arbitrary time is so popular. In addition to an early dinner making me uncomfortable and just not fitting into my personal timing, I don't see how anybody with a commute home after a workday could make that happen ... I would need a stay-at home wife to cook for me!!! It didn't work when I had a kiddo home who liked to play sports and had scheduled practice sessions requiring the mom chauffeur service. Wondering about that tooth brushing or gum idea and if it would encourage cravings and get someone who likes mint chocolate chop ice cream and mint brownies to find chocolate?
