It is sometimes surprising how a nice walk will make me feel more energetic. But there are also the times that call for a nap emoticon

What's your favorite natural energy-booster?

I would say that walking would be my natural energy-booster. I always feel so good after a good long walk that I'm ready to attack anything afterwards.

It depends on why I'm traveling. I guess I would choose by plane, as I like to get where I'm going as quickly as I can. If time isn't an issue, I would like to try a cruise, I've never been on one.

I have traveled by train between Ontario and Nova Scotia several times. I like the train. We would like to take the train to British Columbia someday but it is expensive.

We enjoy cruising. We are going on our third in January.

Hubby would answer motorcycle. He has taken several motorcycle trips. I have been with him for some but I don't enjoy it as much as he does.

Since I live overseas I have no choice but to travel by plane. One day, I would actually like to try a cruise. Once I reach Canada, I do love using the train as it's very relaxing.

I like the kitchen/dining area/family room - it is large yet cozy and the heart of our home. I also love the back yard with the stone patio and pond with waterfall.

There are many things that I like about my home. I love the curved stairwell going to upstairs. Also I love the design of the wood shutters. My yard is also another aspect that I enjoy looking at. Let me not forget about my kitchen. When we were building our home, my husband made sure that the kitchen was big and full of cupboards so, I thoroughly enjoy my kitchen.

As you may have noticed, WHISPERINGPINEZ is no longer a leader on this team. I will endeavour to continue her good work on this team with daily questions. I thought she was doing a wonderful job but it seems as though it just became too much for her to continue as she has other teams to lead also. Whenever you have a chance, do send her a thank you note for her good work. emoticon

What is the sweetest compliment that you have received?
After I posted recent pictures documenting my 100 lb weight loss, an old friend told me I looked like I did 40 years ago.
There's a lot more grey hair and I still weight about 50 lb more than I did then, but boy, it sure felt good.

When my husband and I started dating his best friend told him I would not go with him if he smoked. He quit and never has smoked again. After forty years it is still the best compliment I have ever received. Love that man.

Well, one of the greatest compliments I have received recently is that my 20 y.o. grand-daughter (actually it's the little girl I'm holding in my picture) told me I was the coolest of grand-mothers -- young at heart and fun to be with. How great is that?

On Christmas morning, Hubby and I will drive to the city to our second son's home to watch our grandchildren open their gifts. About 12:30 they will start to get ready to go to our daughter-in-law's mother's for Christmas dinner with her brother and sisters and their families. We will come home to check our dogs and then head to our oldest son's to visit with them. Usually we have our family gathering on Boxing Day but this year it will be Dec. 28 when our daughter and her husband are able to come home.

For those who celebrate Christmas, what plans have you made? Do you stay home or go to another family"s home?

My husband and I will be spending Christmas morning at our daughters house where we will have Christmas brunch and exchange presents. The best part will be watching the grandkids opening theirs. Then we will go home and have Christmas dinner and have a quiet evening together.

This year will be quiet for my husband and me. We may have some friends over for dinner but really, I would prefer to just be there with my hubby just enjoying each other for a change. It's still up in the air because that is MY preference, and he may want others around.

Go to my older sister's house in Stoney Creek (about 30 mins away). Her daugher and family (boys 11.5 and 9 years) will make our day! My younger sister and partner from Ottawa will be staying with me for about a week. I will try to 'eat healthy'

Christmas is usually at my parent's house (my home right now). This will be the last one here in Edmonton as they have a new home built in Colwood (near Victoria).

When we were children, sometimes we went to our grandparent's house in Medicine Hat. Once we went out to Penticton when I was 3 or 4. Once we went to Disney World (I was 18).

Christmas used to always be a huge family gathering at our house. When I was growing up it wasn't unusual to have 15 or more people sit down to Christmas dinner with others wandering in over the course of the day ... or at some point over the holidays.
Now that my grandparents and parents have passed away, it's a much quieter affair. We'll open our presents, I'll put a turkey in the oven and do up the usual trimmings (hopefully a little lighter version this year), we'll watch some TV, put out some special treats for the neighbourhood birds and just kick back and enjoy the day.

the most important thing to me when grocery shopping -
1. quality
2. i make a list of what is on sale and what i need from that list
3. if they have great product --- fresh and worth while i will buy it

that is why i buy from my small local grocer - can't beat the quality and i am never disappointed. i can't say the same for the bigger box stores - walmart has horrid produce and i have been disappointed with the meat. so no prices could keep me buying there.

Do you think your significant other is jealous of your weight loss or fitness improvements?

There are both a U and an I in quit, but together W and E can do anything.
