I asked about me being able to order certain movies here. I can! : )

One flew Over the Cuckoos Nest comes to mind. ( I have gotten to know people here after almost 1 1/2 years!)

There is a big screen "theater" here. Maybe 12 seats. I also need captions. The sound is not too great there.

I can't believe Feb. is almost over. I wish I had more tax work done. : (

No Elevator?

So, I sent a message to Spirit of Halloweentown with my rock idea and I am meeting with the organizers at City Hall on Thursday to discuss it. What have I gotten myself into????? LOL

Kind of exciting and overwhelming at same time.


DG is in flight at the moment on her way to Georgia where she will pick up her international flight to Nicaragua.

The sun is shining. Life is good. I think I will savor it.

Puzzles were going all the time at Rose Valley. They were out where people walked by so chatting with the puzzle owner happened and of course staff would usually add a few pieces here and there too.

It helps keep the scanning skills working, so good for the brain too.

I want to start a Halloweentown Rocks page, but don't know if I would keep it up. I think I will paint a bunch of Halloween themed rocks though and hide them about for all the Autumn tourists we have.

Hmmm... I don't know if there a rocks group in this area. I will need to find out. But I don't think I will be doing that. I have a couple of activities in the works now. One is just doing a puzzle. I hope I can get some more people interested. A table has been set up in one of the "community rooms." Nice room with a TV, a computer, 2 big tables and chairs, a couch and nice comfy chairs--and a "kitchen" area. If I do a puzzle, I can't be eating--hopefully. chris

The blue sky is sure helping my energy levels. I went to yoga today and plan to still walk my 30 minutes tonight. I was surprised yoga was as easy as it was. I am attributing my stamina to the treadmill.

Been painting rocks today. I painted a tribute rock to a lab that passed. The owner asked for painted rocks of her beloved dog for her garden. The facebook site is Astoria Rocks. I also belong to NW Rocks on FB. It is similar sort of to geocaching and letterboxing in that you hide and hunt for things. Post a pic of your rock that you painted, state the general location you plan to hide it. The hunters find your rocks and they can either keep them or rehide them after posting pictures of their finds. I plan to stash a bunch around town for Halloweentown visitors to find. It is fun, but slow process. I thought it would be much quicker, but you have to paint in stages and let each layer dry. Working on Valentine rocks at the moment.

Wonder if there is a Buffalo Rocks group.

I had a second bout with a virus. I sure hope it is gone for good. I was feeling good after the first virus. Then I went to the dentist. I took my pre-dental antibiotic . I wonder if that killed the good buggies so the virus took hold again?????

Because of the shoulder replacement I have to take the antibiotic emoticon

Just got back from the dermatologist. He froze a few spots on my face. I had 2 surgeries, one of them came back! Hopefully done with skin surgeries. emoticon

I was poking around amazon. Some candles had strange scents like smoky rose and even burning rose. In the reviews it mentioned better candles. Yeah right--$30, $40, $50 even up to $80 for one candle. Must be pretty special.

I remember going to the doctor with poison oak and surprise.... he diagnosed me with ....poison oak..... Yep I knew that. I just wanted to stop itching. Nope. Calamine lotion. LOL Hoping you figured out your sleep issues, though I would guess it is related to the FM. Glad you don't have to mess with a cpap.

I have yet to call and order my new mask. Cheaper to do it online than through Kaiser. I just needed that prescription.

Went to doctors appt Wednesday with my closest childhood friend. She was having dizzy/fainting spells. They did EKG and admitted her to hospital. She now has a pacemaker. She looks better than she did before the surgery. So I have great hopes this will open new doors to her energy levels.

TOPS tonight. I weighed less at weigh in with clothes and two meals under my belt than I did this morning without clothes and food. Anyway I was up four pounds not seven. I still binged, but managed to get two more glasses of water down instead of more junk.

Up at 6 in the morning for cpap appt. I found my sleep study. That should be enough to convince them I need new equipment.

I have been gaining, too. I have been extremely tired for many days. One day out of 10 I have been OK. Today I am fine.

Sun broke out for a bit today and Buds and I lapped the park. I was shot. It was easier to walk the mile a week ago than on Friday and now a quarter mile is zapping me. This is not right. I have a headache and my tooth and shoulder hurt.

Big week coming up. I took some more airborne and I think I will take some ibuprofen. I think I am just a little anxious about book club and going to my sisters and I am gaining weight like crazy. Need to get a grip.

I want to whine. Waaaaaa..............

Hi Everyone - Well, it has been a long time since I posted. Losing weight has not been easy because I had a lot of medical problems. I am OK now and have re-started my diet and exercise plan. I am drinking more water now and exercising. Hope I lose weight this time. Evening eating is my biggest worry, but so far I am doing good in that area as well.

Hubby wants a blanket while he is sleeping in his reclining motorized wheelchair. I told him to wiggle to warm up! I guess I am mean but he does not move a muscle!

Hello everyone sorry I don’t have time to read all the posts.
I hope everyone is doing good and had a great Christmas and New Year.
Everything is fine with me. Just don’t like sparking on my phone. Will try to do it more often now.
We have had a really cold and snowy year so far.
I am usually out running around with Rylan during the day I get home and relax with the dogs. Catch up on tv.
Was going to the pool 3 times a week with the baby. Haven’t been since before Christmas.
Going to try to get back in the swing of things soon.
Our gym is due to reopen in February after renovations on the building.
I will be taking Rylan to a Head Start program 3 times a week starting in February he starts school in September. He will be 3 for the first few months. I think full time days for JK and SK is a mistake but so don’t make the rules. I will be done work the end of August looking forward to the break. It will help gas and mileage wise.
DH is still down east so far so good we need to replace the furnace. I had to buy a new fridge last week so things are tight.
We communicate so much better in different provinces. We can actually talk about money and everything with no issues.

Read your e-mail. So glad it was resolved so quickly.

Had lunch with school friends. One I have known 58 years. We started first grade together. They other I have known 54 years. Old friends truly are gold. The other two from our tea group had to beg off. My food turned out good. Think I am all set to repeat the meal for Book Club coming up at the end of the month.

Tonight is weigh in at TOPS probably will be a gain after my struggles this week and the big lunch.

I am in a bad way. My health aid "agency" is dropping us. Long story. But by Tue morning, I have no aides to care for JOhn!

Chris, Loretta and anyone else reading,
23&Me asked me to join their research group for studying weight loss. My DNA has a bunch of fat genes. Maybe this request is just a sneaky way for them to find out if I really am overweight LOL

Anyway, I joined and start their 12 week program January 8th. I chose the third option which is diet and exercise. I will keep you updated.

Chris, aren't you part of the National Weight Loss Registry research project? I think I learned about them from you. Of course they don't have a program. They are just tracking our efforts. I did a survey in November and am assuming we will get another one end of January.

Here is my challenge for us today. Drink four 16 oz bottles or cups of water or tea. Our skin will love us.

Loretta, I had the leg wrapping done. It was a real project and more expensive than I thought because I had to buy all that binding tape. emoticon

It did help. I was supposed to continue wrapping at home but honestly I could not do it. It was pretty complicated as I remember. That wasn't my problem. My problem is that I am not flexible and especially my knees don't bend well. I have improved the flexibility quite a bit by water exercises.

I would think cool water would be better to get swelling down though I know a hot tub feels so great.

Just think when the leg swelling goes down you will lose some pounds!

Thanks, Cathy. I am starting to get in to the topic now. Brainstorming helped and some sparkfriends gave me ideas. The topic of dreams is so broad that I can't narrow it down. Doing the outline in chart form (rays off the center) has definitely helped.

It is so much easier for me to care for my health in January. It is like the mind just snaps back to the right place. I have found that juicing greens also tends to help the body get in better place. I get a little swelling if I eat too much processed foods, but otherwise don't deal with it. I have seen residents at work with so much swelling their skin started seeping. It is pretty scary.

So let's all sit back and sip on some good tea and enjoy improved health.

Cathy - The lymphedema is caused by my weight. Last weight was 250 lbs. Then because of the New Years Eve party, I gained 3 lbs. I now weigh 253 lbs After I lose the 3 lbs.I should be on the right track.

Chris - Writing down my thoughts and goals each day for 15 min sounds like a great idea.

Loretta, I so hope you are getting the swelling down so you can start feeling better. Do you know what is causing the edema?


Chris, Just plop your backside in a chair and start recording all your thoughts about dreams and dreaming and aspirations too. Set the timer for 15 minutes. Do not think Just write. If you lose your train of thought start describing a dream. It is a technique that was taught to us by my writing professor years ago in college and again by the NaNoWriMo people. If all else fails describe the floor. Just don't think or stop typing until the timer goes off. Also, don't correct any mistakes. Just add what you wished you said instead. It is a great exercise.

Hi - I havent felt like posting because 20 17 has been the worst year of my life. I had hepatitis C, My last blood test said I am now cured. I need another blood test this month. I am also having my last shots for hep A and hep B just a precaution. My blood platelets are very low. I have 29,000 when I should have between 150,000 and 450,000. This means I could have serious bleeding anytime. They found blood on my liver, but think I may have had it at birth and nothing to worry about, but they are screening my liver and spleen just to be sure I am OK. I have severe lymphedema to the point where I cant wear shoes or socks, so cant go out in bad weather because I have to wear slippers. I have been so depressed that I am gaining weight and I know that isnt good for my condition. I hope 2018 is better. HUGS

So wonderful that you had that dream with Tom in it. Now that is a great dream!

We try to keep it under 300 words. We read our own to the group. One woman (darn) has books with her writings and she just picks out an old one. Not very interesting to me.

I have put the 2 other assignments on my blog in SP. I will so this one, too --hopefully I do finish it. It is due Dec. 28th. Once a month on a Thursday.

But the group was only 3 last time. I hope we don't self-destruct.

Ooohhh......Fun...... I have been toying with the idea that the dream world is glimpses of possible places to reincarnate or heaven or hell....depending on where you want to go. I would turn it into a fantasy. Person has recurring dream in a haunted house, dies and ends up in the house in reality. Then has to learn her lessons to move on to a better environment.

So how long is the assignment and what are the parameters?

Regarding the haunted house. I loved it though it was a bit scary. I dreamed about it frequently. It was a magnificent building. It always looked a bit different, but even in my dreams I knew it was the same place. When you have sleep apnea you dream prolifically. Another reoccurring dream was in a very mountainous and volcanic region with a beautiful compound at the base of the mountain. I kept trying to evacuate people and no-one seem to think erupting mountains were dangerous.

Since today would have been my wedding anniversary if life had been different, I want to share a vivid and beautiful dream. Tom and I were walking in the ocean at the base of a sea wall. The weather was perfect, the waves were calm. We felt warm and safe and happy as we inspected the sea life clinging to the wall.

I am 1/2 pound from 2teens this morning. Now as long as I don't blow it between now and weigh in. We were going to miss the first too, but I begged to have a meeting. This is the hardest time. Then everything mentally seems to snap back in place after the first and it is so much easier to eat healthy and exercise. The brain is strange and mystical.
