OK DSD, I'll bite (not you...) and give an opinion (AKA spit in the wind)

Sure, I think it would have been interesting to see a little more redemption in the Gov, or at least some discussion between the characters of morality in this brave new world....his instinct to protect little girls was endearing, but it was a one trick pony. We had seen that before.

He endangered himself to go to get the oxygen for the old guy was new and interesting, but maybe he just wanted to get into the pants of the mother of the little girl. Hard to tell.

(p.s. anyone wonder about him throwing the Ravioli out the window that one time. What the heck was that about?)

But since the writers all seem to be existential Nihilists they just let him die.

Just like they copped out and let Carol go quietly into that good night with nary a word spoken about the hardcore issues of letting someone of her caliber go. Despite her supposed indiscretion (which I'm sure the big "surprise" will be that one or both of those little girls did it - GASP I didn't see that one coming!) she has been more than pulling her weight in terms of helping everyone survive which should be just a little bit of a talking point amongst the rest of the crew.

My biggest beef to Rick would have been, "Dude, are you planning to take up the extra slack in terms of work load that this $h!t H0L requires??? Cause all those extra guys we were left with at the end of last season from the town are slackers, children or dead. That chick you let go could shoot AND do laundry AND fix the water thingy thing that got busted."

But, in lieu of interesting dialogue, I'm so glad the writers had the characters be killed or kill a bunch of people and then scatter the survivors because we've never seen that happen before...

If I got my wish for Christmas, I would have loved for Michone to let the Gov turn and then "domesticate" him like she did with those pet zombies a the beginning. Would have kept him around as a reminder of what happens to bad people (oh, thats right....and good people and just about every other kind of people on the show.)

BUT... then maybe, finally there could have been SOME discussion of the slippery slide of morality instead of a lot of blank staring off into space interspersed with LOOOOONNNG drives down perfectly empty roads, digging holes for dead people, being sick with plague and looking at growing vegetables.

JMHO

p.s. As an aside, anyone wonder why there is not more profanity in the post apocalyptic world? I'm thinking someone should have dropped an f-bomb or two or three by now....

I would have left him to turn into a zombie.

AMC put together a nice piece about The Governor. I still can't see him as a sympathetic character tho. He was a bad man. What do you think? Should he have had a different ending?
