I didn't notice the parrot either. Great catch!

Overall the fact that two women, one little girl and one old man could not only comfortably survive but never even have to be aware of how to really kill a walker speaks volumes about the intelligence of our intrepid band of "heroes"

And none of the volumes are complimentary!! The writers keep making them look like idiots.

"Live bait" could refer to the pit trap at the end?

or even to the two women and the child. The child is making the Governor care again, and that is not necessarily a good thing. Think back to his collecting dead kids and walker heads....

Now here's a solution to the prison fence problem courtesy of the Guv...ring the place with pits so they fall in and can't even reach the fence. On a regular basis go out and burn the zombies in the pits to prevent them from piling up and being able to escape that way. A lot easier than trying to stab them all while shoring up the fence with logs.

I didn't see anyone near him when he was outside the prison, my guess is that they are all dead. Did anyone else laugh when the Gov was sleeping on the couch and the pillow had a parrot sitting on his shoulder. Arrrrrrr, that be hilarious! emoticon

After watching this episode, the other half looked at me, and said, "I feel like they are trying to make us feel sorry for the gov."

I didn't dislike the episode, because I enjoy the complexities of introducing another side of the Gov. Before all we really saw was the manipulation, cold calculation, and at the end of his rope, downright Hitleresque behavior. Now we see him risking his life for a little girl, doing everything in his power to protect her, getting oxygen for her dying grandfather when it could kill him (but interestingly enough... only grabbed two canisters and didn't really use his wits to get out of there).

I did however dislike how weak and exhausted he seemed the whole time. Really degrades the whole super evil villain character. But maybe that is what they wanted to do, though. Make him seem more likable... human.

What really bothered me the most is we know that Michonne has been tracking him. She has been spending (from what I gather) gobs of time away from the prison in pursuit of the Gov. Now if he was so weak, he couldn't fight off a zombie - how was he able to throw her off? Is she that bad at tracking? How did she not know about his croonies setting up a camp of their own near the pits? That really was tough to swallow, since I am a fan of Michonne.

This episode made me believe that as long has he has Megan (and her adoration of him) that he will be sane/level, and will be a hero of sorts as "Brian". So.... methinks Megan isn't going to live long.

I was surprised this turned out to be a Governor episode. I liked it and it looks like from the previews, we'll be following the Governor's adventure in the next episode.

I did not care too much for the episode, there were too many discrepancies.

He has some sort of monster army vehicle that smashes through anything...but spends months wandering around on foot.

He's staggering around exhausted on his last legs...but why? He can stop to rest anytime for as long as he needs.

The lung cancer guy survives for what has to be almost 18 months with end stage lung cancer...with no more sophisticated care than an oxygen tank? And no visible affects other than a small bit of coughing?

The Guv can tell them about head shots...but even knowing the old man was dying somehow neglects to mention the dead turn, so as to prepare the women?

Months of wandering around and he arrives back at the beginning in one of his own zombie catching pits? And why are the sidekicks still collecting zombies in pits?

I won't even go into the bad dialogue (I'm a cop and this is a blah blah blah). It was painful.

I really hope the episode will be relevant, but I fear the writers still aren't really good with the whole plot development and tying up of loose ends skills. At least we were spared more of Rick's agonized facial expressions as he visibly struggles to retain his sanity.

Not quite sure I understood the title for this one. Did I miss something?

Reaction seems really split. Some people loved it, some people hated it. I thought it was interesting to see the character of The Governor develop. I am trusting that it will be relevant.

I think it's interesting to see that he almost has a split personality type thing going on, and that he struggles with keeping it under control.

What did you think?
