Weighed in at 164 today. Not the direction I want to go but the semester is almost over and all this stress that's making harder to be healthy is going to go away at the end of the week. Hopefully I'll feel better soon.

Goal for the week:

Drink water every day. A minimum of 4 cups. I can do this.

Am feeling better myself. It has been cold here today so I went to the mall and walked and did a little shopping.

Am feeling some better today. I think I know what made this happen. It was a side effect of one of my medications that finding out last night I promptly got rid of. One of the side effects was that it messes with your heart. I sure don't need that.

Am trying to get back on the bandwagon. I see a cariologist on friday for these chest pains I have been having. Pretty sure he is going to put me on a diet to lose weight as this weight is not good for me.

I will see on Wed. when I weigh in if I ate too much over Thanksgiving Holiday, but no matter what, I will keep going. That's all any of us can do.

I too hurt my back & no flu(thank goodness,I get a flu shot every year), but have had a crummy cold. I can relate a little to you,FITTERLIFE4ME. I hope this week more healthy for you.

I've gained 3lbs and don't even have thanksgiving as you know, in Uk.

Got flu and hurt back all in one week, yuck, so hubby decides to buy everything I shouldn't eat...I didn't complain because so fed up, honestly

McD's
KFC
pizzas
caramel choux buns
chocolate

tried to get back on the wagon today and my downfall was bread...

will try extra hard tomorrow....back to no sugar and eating every 1-3 hours for me, can't do Atkins because hate meat every day?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! Did some damage at lunch but will eat a very light supper. The pumpkin pie that I made and the pecan pie that my aunt made were just to much to pass up. Will have to do better this week.

I'm exceeding my expectations and going for victory, I've been solid all week, no temptation getting in the way. We don't have thanksgiving over here so I have no distractions. Eating sensibly and exercising. Lost 3 lbs this week and if I lose another 3 lbs next week I will dance around the room naked, lol

Well, I am still trying.
I don't want to gain over the holidays.
I will be happy with only a two pound loss for the holidays.
Today I went to the gym and walked on the treadmill.
Have been tracking and hope to track over the weekend although I will be away shopping in the States (Black Friday).
I am taking a frozen chicken stew casserole to eat the first nightso I can enter that today.
Wish me luck. emoticon

I am tracking my food & water, but I seem to have done something to my back that has been causing me pain for the last few days. I don't have too much discomfort, until about half way thru' the day. Probably doesn't help that I have been cleaning, & baking, & grocery shopping in preparation for Thanksgiving.
Found some stretching exercises for the back that I just started this evening,so I hope that helps. When you get midddle age you seem not to bounce back as easily from even minor injuries. Oh well, I've abused this body for over half a century, so...

Right now I am having a hard time with cardio so I am dropping it to 1 to 2 times a week and strength training 3 times a week. Stay in a lower calorie range that Sparks gave me when I lowered my Cardio goal and weight once a week.

I had willingly fallen into a rut. I was walking every morning for an hour. I don't feel safe doing it with winter conditions, so I'm having to re-think the plan. Yesterday, I went to the gym and spent 25 minutes on the treadmill and then 35 minutes on the elliptical.

Goals-

Go to the gym 3 times a week

Eat my meals 3 hours apart

Keep up with the 28 day bootcamp plan!

I have done very well at tracking and sticking to my calories. As for fitness I have a huge remodeling project at my house I am working on. So cleaning, moving furniture, etc are the only forms of exercise I am doing right now. For the first time in a long time I have not gained weight!! I have either stayed the same or lost emoticon

Writing this down will make me feel better so here it is:

yesterday was the 4th perfect day on my little and often eating of 1200-1400 calories a day and I must say I did pretty good with exercising and weights twice this week, walking every day and general activity.

This morning had to get up extra early and felt exhausted because still half asleep, rummaged and found some chocolate, ate a few and felt pathetic for indulging myself so stupidly with them and got a mad sugar rush. I've thrown the rest out as I mean business and will continue onwards and upwards.

Its much better to look at the 95% of calories and behaviour I'm doing as spot on as its only going to be a small percentage of the time I will lose my mind like that if thats the right way to put it. It is a spontaneous mindless act of not thinking of anything when I indulge.

Still optimistic on the weight loss front, I've lost 22lbs in 15 weeks here and theres only one way to go and thats forward!!

I always have a pen and notebook with me. I try to track how long I have walked in one of the big box stores, my water intake, my food intake and even if I try one of the samples at the store, I write it down.

Hi! Good Job-we are going to make it happen-I can feel it.
I am continueing with the "Kate" 6/meal day plan & it is really helping. I am leaning heavy on the proteins & I am not hungry betwwen meals.I actually do not even feel like having my last snack tonight.
I've added some weights (5 lb.) to my dance workout.
Step by Step...

Today had 2 weetabix cereal and skimmed milk

brisk walk for 15 mon, getting very cold here

yoghurt

Tuna with light mayo and 3 rye crackerbread

apple large braeburn

2 salmon fillets with mushy peas and veg, yum! emoticon each to there own,lol

and going to have something later on before bed, its nearly 6pm here now.

lost 3lbs since last weight in over 2 weeks ago and even though I don't feel hungry eating little and often it is obviously doing something so will carry on like this as long as I can.

3 days without sugar or bread is tough but doable.

day 1 of no refined sugar, avoiding it like the plague because it does play havoc with my health and mood.

stuck to eating little and often every 1-3 hours today and can honestly say have not felt hungry at all.

cooked a lovely dinner, turkey fillets with carrots, sprouts, onion boiling in a pan together and mash potato.
probably have a yoghurt later.

I don't think I have filled this out yet, so I guess I will count today (11/11) as emoticon .

Goals:
1) weigh 210 by 01/01/11
2) get back on track with ST. One 10 min bootcamp ST video 4-6 days a week
3)blog results weekly

I already read lots of articles andtrack food daily, so that part of the challenge should be easy for me. I alo do pretty well exercising, I usually burn around 2500 calories a week.

Weigh days are Weds. for me. Today I weighed in at 223.8 - that's a 1.4 pound loss from last week.

Today is 11-8-10.

Goals:
1. To eat within my recommended range every day for the next week.
2. To drink between 4 and 6 glasses of water a day.
3. To do some form of exercise for at least five minutes every day.
4. To be able to fit into my new jeans comfortably by Christmas.

Current Weight: 163
Goal Weight: 145

Current struggles: losing focus and motivation; wondering why I care.

Current success: Drinking water every day and drinking as little soda as possible.

This being mere mortals isn't easy sometimes. I hope to be getting back more into my exercising. I haven't done any strength since I travelled. At least I'm still doing the treadmill.

I hope you all have a good productive week.

This weekend was bloody herendous, excuse my french!
Bonfire night was fun and went for a full fat, creamy Korma and pilau rice with starter but I knew that was planned and I'd been prepared a little. Then Saturday exercised, weights felt great, Sunday, hubby and I went shopping and he says I have no willpower well I said to him he has less willpower than I do because he fell for the chocolate offer, huge tubs of quality street and cadburys for 4, he came out with 4 tubs and when we got home I managed a good 20 chocs, disgusted in myself the rest of the day. Weight has plateaued as expected. I've banned any junk food in the house and he has 4 tubs in his car which he will take to work with him. I've put it behind me and planning ahead for the rest of the week, going to eat little and often. ie.

breakfast weetabix
snack apple
lunch rye crackers x 3 and tuna
snack fat free yoghurt
dinner 1 chicken fillet with veg
snack apple/yoghurt/toast

Iittle and often periodically throughout the day is the name of the game! Don't know why I haven't done this variation for some time because I know it gives great results, keeping metablolism going, eating every 2-3 hours.
We all have good and bad days/weeks so wiping the slate clean and having a good week!

Sunday-I used the elliptical for a 1/2 hour.
Monday-1 hour walking, 1/2 hour elliptical, strength training
Tuesday-1 hour walking. Skipped elliptical because of "intestinal distress."
Wednesday-1 hour walking. 1.25 hours circuit training class.
Thursday-1 hour walking. 38 minutes elliptical
Friday-1 hour circuit training. This class took place when I usually take my walk. When I tracked it, I happily learned that it counted as cardio, so I skipped the walk. Unfortunately, the strength training teacher only does circuit training once every 3 months or so.

I lost 3lbs this week
15 mins of mon, wed, fri strength exercises after walking for 15 mins
and 3x 10 min jogs this week
and press ups, sit-ups and all the other toning exercises I whizz right thru them now, 25 of those, 15 reps of those... I keep it to short bursts
I went running on Saturday with fella and I've hurt the front of my calf and it is because I'm carrying too much weight to run. I was tempted because I heard the weight drops off runners. I just can't risk injury I already have a temperamental back sometimes.
At least the weight came off after a strict week.

It's going to be tough because the second I buy any festive food it will be eaten in blind fury and I can't afford that to happen so will wait until the very last minute or not buy any and go out for it,lol
Has anyone had that where you stock up but it gets eaten the whole of December and you end up buying more? That ain't happening this year!!
Oh, before I go can everyone remember their junk food blogs, we need lots of these to keep reminding us!! - show support!!

I was a maniac today. Four hours of housecleaning and organizing (this is what happens when you do no cleaning for two months), and it's still not done. Today was just clearing the debris, tomorrow is the actual cleaning cleaning. (Anyway, I counted this a 30 minutes of moving boxes.) Then a 45 minute walk on the bike trail because it was a beautiful day. Later 45 minutes of circuit training bookended by 15 minutes on the treadmill before and 25 minutes after. Needless to say, I'm pooped. I have a feeling I am going to sleep well.

Took a long walk with my daughter today. Since it was seriously uphill, I decided to count it as a hike. Theoretically, I burned a lot of calories. Afterward, we tried out the Corner Bakery Cafe. I had a half panini and cup of soup. The whole panini would have cost 700 calories. I'm very proud that I mostly avoided the chips that were on my plate. I covered them with pepper because they continued to tempt me even after I had fully decided that I wasn't going to eat them.

I went to the gym M, Tu, Wed and did my time on the stationary bike which is 30-40 minutes. Thurs I didn't get there so tonight when I went, I did 1/2 hour strength training, 1/2 hour stretching, and 35 minutes on the bike!

Hi :)

I'm trying to stay with the program, but adding up me day on the nutrition is getting challenging cuz I'm not at a computer all day...

BUT... hit 5 pound off and now NOTHING for the past three weeks. Perhaps I need to change up my cardio... I do 30 minutes each day, mostly M-F, but sometimes also/instead of on the weekend. I have added walking again, as a change up.

Surprised and delighted that after not having my 'habit' of 1-2 Diet Pepsis a day since the end of August and drinking at least 8 cups of water, I had a Diet Pepsi yesterday (cuz it was in the garage and said it EXPIRED the 25th of Sept.) AND it wasn't even tasty!!! :)

Getting ready for vacation. Still struggling to eat enough. Every night I eat dinner and then sit down with some kind of snack.
I'm afraid that vacation it might swing the other way... not sure. I will give it my best one way or the other. Plus I will have only limited internet to no internet for a few of the days. I have notebook ready for that. emoticon
