FANTASTIC SLIM!!! Reach over and give yourself a big pat on the back, you sure have earned it!

Thanks Sabrina, how are you doing? So nice to see you checking in!!

What happened to NESARIAN? Did Santa grab her and make her work with the elves in his workshop?? emoticon I know she wanted snow; but did she realize how cold it is at the North Pole? emoticon If you hear from her let me know would you please? LOL

I have been doing a lot of praying and thinking and I thought I would share with you my thoughts...Now don't everyone start running away from me. Hahahaha

It's December, November is gone. Whatever we did or didn't do is gone, over with. I have learned from both my mistakes and the things I did right. So starting today, I am setting some new aims / goals / challenges.

Here they are:

1. To "totally" depend on God to help me through this Night Time Eating Disorder

2. To do better in December than I did in November - In November I had 16 good nights and 14 bad ones - So my aim is to get 16 good nights plus.

3. To eat more fruits / Vegetables and less carbs.

4. To drink 8 cups of water each day.

5. To exercise at least 15 minutes each day.

6. To touch a life every day, in a way, that someone will be glad that I am alive.

You are all more than welcome to join in with me; or post YOUR aims / goals / challenges.
I think we could all learn from each other and help each other in this way.

Opinions, comments please???

Hope you are having a FANTASTIC weekend!
Praying for everyone of you!!
Big hugsssssssssss,
Auntbee

Let God Arise
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered...”
(Psalm 68:1, NKJV)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

What are you letting arise in your life today? In other words, what are you focusing your words, energy and thoughts on? You might say, “Oh, Joel, it’s just so hard right now. I’ve lost some money.” “My health doesn’t look good.” “Somebody walked out on me.” No, you’re focusing on the wrong things. You’re letting defeat, discouragement and self-pity rise up. Why don’t you turn that around and say, “God is still in control. Somebody may have walked out on me, I may be hurting right now, but I know God is the Restorer of my soul.” “I may have lost money in the stock market, but I’m not worried. I know God is my provider. He is supplying all of my needs. He is fighting my battles.”

When you start giving God glory and letting Him arise in your life, you can’t stay defeated. Your enemies will be scattered! They’ll tremble at your words of faith. Begin right now by declaring God's goodness in your life and let Him arise so that you can move forward in the victory He has for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, I repent right now for allowing any negative, self-defeating thoughts or attitudes rise up in my life. You alone are my God, and I put my trust in You. I bless You today and choose to look for the good things You have for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
— Joel & Victoria Osteen

Thanks once again for your continued support ladies. You are the best!!

Slim you are doing FANTASTIC!!! It sure feels good too, doesn't it?

Sabrina, I love your prayer! God will indeed give you the strength that you need, just stay close to Him.

I had a bad night last night...It started off with a bad migraine so I went to bed early without eating my apple. I got up a few hours later, migraine gone and I was starving. An apple didn't appeal to me at all, so I ate carbs. Guess I must have needed them because I wasn't up on the scales this morning. I am back on track today and won't be up eating tonight.

Hope everyone has a MARVELOUS weekend!

Day 32 of no night time eating/ binging.

Hi all! Really wanting to stay strong and not be in bondage to food. Also, wanting to remember WHO I serve- food or God. My scripture this morning brought it home.

Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve. Joshua 24:15

Nesarian, Bre,Aunt Bee, thanks for your continued support.

Welcome new comers!

Good morning all. We have a break today before the next wave hits tomorrow. So far, nothing really bad.

Tea went up in price to almost $5.00 a box for our fave tummy mint tea. emoticon Since we are both drinking tea now, I need to stock up on sale tea. Hubby is really enjoying "OUR" nightly ritual now. LOL! He has even giving up his nightly ice cream!

The wind is decimating the gorgeous leaves and hastening their departure. Sad. I relish this time of year and always hope it extends as long as possible. The brightly colored leaves are beautiful against any color sky. My second season best is watching the leaves dance in the wind so plenty of enjoyment here lately.

Ladies, I am so proud of the way you choose to be strong in the face of all you are dealing with lately. Bree, you are an amazing woman with so much love to give. Your family is blessed. Auntbee, you have a working plan and with God and Jesus on your side, night cravings have no strength over you! Finding our strength is key and this team is rocking with strength!

Love to you all!

Each day we begin again.

Sabrina, yes God is sooooo good! What an awesome word from Him to you:
And no, it certainly wasn't a wasted trip after all. Keep praising the Lord!! There's another old chorus we use to sing one time:
"Something's got to happen when we praise the Lord,
Something's got to happen when we praise the Lord,
Something's got to happen when we praise the Lord,
Praise the Lord He set the captive free.

We are captives in a sort. But thank God He's going to set us free, in His time! Keep thinking about that.

SLIM emoticon emoticon emoticon You are doing FANTASTIC!!!! You sure came over that hurdled, didn't you? Now it will be easier when the next one comes. I have been praying for you and for all the other ladies. Thank you dear Jesus for standing by us.

Welcome Sparkplug, so nice to have you here with us. Sounds like you have a GREAT plan! Don't be upset with yourself if you don't follow it through perfectly, you will do it in time, and you certainly have made a good start. Just the decision that you needed to not overeat is a major start!! We are all here for you. Can't wait to hear how you did?

As for me, I am doing excellent. I eat an apple before bedtime every night. I take my knife and slowly eat it, and I find it satisfies and really helps with the craving. The craving is there but I now can use self control and not eat. It hasn't been easy, and last night was brutal. I was awake, up and down for most of the night; but didn't eat. At some point I fill asleep and I had a dream. In my dream I was out in the kitchen with a small bowl of something and was about to eat it. Again, in my dream, I said to myself, "No you can't eat this." And I didn't eat it. I feel so good for not giving in, both in my dream and in reality. I take my Bible to bed every night and when I awake and want food, I put the Bible to my head and ask the good Lord, to take away those obsessive thoughts of wanting food. Some of you may think I am crazy; but when you have a personal relationship with Jesus like I have had for years, (and you can have it just for the asking), and when you have had miracle after miracle because of answered pray it increases your faith to expect more and more prayers answered, including the one of not eating throughout the night.

Here's my record:
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Be sure to post yours too:
emoticon - For your good nights
emoticon - For your bad nights

I think I will go get some food into this hungry belly..LOL.....I made seven loaves of molasses, raisin bread yesterday for myself, and for friends for Christmas. I was really good last night and didn't have a slice, so I think I deserve one this morning. That will be my breakfast this morning, along with a slice of low fat cheese and a clementine.

God bless you all my special friends,
Auntbee

Day 1
I'm going to try and conquer my nighttime eating tonight. My DH and I are going walking and then making supper together. Then it's trouble time. I usually sit down and watch TV and eat. After 7pm I am only allowing my self diet peach tea and celery and peanut butter for a snack. It's going to be hard, but I have to break this habit. I do fine at work during the day.
Wish me luck...... emoticon

I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read and all the friends I want to see.

Gson's mom started working last Friday and has worked everyday since. She is off tomorrow so that will be a free day for me sort of. I still have a 8 yr old MR + Autistic son and a 6 yr old daughter. DH is home so he can take over, if I let him. It's hard to let go at times but I will give it my best shot. emoticon

I went to church Sunday but had to leave because Gson was sick. I felt like I should have stayed home in the first place because I didn't hear the message. Well yesterday that still small voice whispered, "You wrote down the scripture the minister was preaching from". Ephesians 5:20, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,. I wasn't a wasted trip after all. God had a word for me and I got it. Thank You Lord! Isn't He Awesome? What a word!

Sabrina, I have tried and failed an hundred times over, plus; but you know what? One of these times I am going to do it, and so will you. Just the fact that you want to do better is a good start. Let's not be too hard on ourselves. One of these days, maybe even tonight, we will be so fed up with same old same old that we will break this habit once and for all. I believe it's all in God's time, and I feel that time is soon. I am taking the Bible to bed with me every night and standing on the promises of God. Here are a few of those promises for us:

John 14:16
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever,

Psalm 4:8
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep.

Psalm 127: 12
He gives to his beloved sleep.

Here is a chorus we use to sing years ago:
Every promise in the Book is mine!
Every chapter, every verse, every line.
I am standing on His Word divine,
Every promise in the Book is mine!

We are here for you girl, you don't have to meet a certain goal in order for us to support you. We care!
BIG BIG hugssssssssssss,
Auntbee

Auntbee, you are such a sweetie! I am glad you are enjoying some fun with your client. I hope the travel out of town is scenic and the breakfast delightful.

You’re in Good Company
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“...but Jesus refused to answer.”
(Luke 23:9, NLT)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

In scripture, many times people would come against Jesus and criticize Him. Many times it says, “Jesus answered them not a word.” He simply didn’t respond to His critics. He didn’t try to convince them to change their minds. He didn’t get upset because somebody was talking about Him. No, He just ignored it.

When people come against you and they’re jealous, trying to make you look bad, trying to discourage you, remember you’re in good company! Jesus was probably criticized more than anyone else. I love the fact that He didn’t try to explain Himself. He didn’t try to make everyone understand Him. He just stayed focused on what He was called to do. He simply ran His race.

Friend, Jesus set the example for you and me. We don’t have to try to win the approval of others. We have to understand that not everyone is going to understand us. Our focus should be on following God’s leading and let Him order our steps. The next time someone criticizes you, remember the example of Jesus. Overlook it, don’t get offended, and keep moving forward in the destiny God has for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, today I release every person who has criticized me or tried to discourage me. I choose to forgive them; I choose to turn away from that distraction. I choose to focus on You and the blessings You have in store for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
— Joel & Victoria Osteen

Congrats SLIM! Congrats Auntbee! Wonderful achievements!

I have not done a weigh in for a month or so. I finally made it to the 140s! This lousy respiratory infection is good for something at least!

The tree is going up now so will have to check in tomorrow!

Hang in there my good friend SLIM, you can do this. You might not be able to do it on your own; but, we will pray you through. Our God is well able. He has gone ahead of you to smooth out the rough spots. Expecting you back with a good report!
Love in Christ my sister!

It's day 29 of no night time /binge eating. Having said that I don't think I'll make it to day 30. Very stressed and emotionally upset. Feeling like I don't care- which is a dangerous place to be. The truth is I might be too sad to eat. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Lord, what you are commanding me today is not too difficult for me or beyond my reach.

Hey NESARIAN,
What a busy lady you are, and so productive!! Interesting that you make your own pesto. I would love your recipe, that is if you don't mind, please?

I wish we were all closer too, it would be so nice to sit together with a cup of tea/coffee and fellowship!!

I am finding it easier to not eat during the night and I am trying some different approaches. Victory is mine!!
How is everyone else doing? Don't stay away because you can't kick the habit, no one has messed up anymore than I have, and I'm still here..LOL

Big hugs to all,
Auntbee

Aunbtbee, you only need 3 hours sleep! Well, I never! I would be dead. 8-10 is my optimum. Your day is so much longer than mine!

The last of the sweet basil is harvested and pesto made. I am freezing it in 2T blobs and will put the tasty mounds into storage freezer bags and be able to get what I need out easily. I froze the last pesto in jars and had to defrost the jar to get it out. emoticon

Limes are being juiced to go into ice trays for lime cubes for next year. Our tree has been overly prolific this year and we gifted several shopping bagfuls to neighbor and still have at least 5 full bags to juice. I like a cube per gallon ice tea so we will use them. I wish we were all closer so I could share them with you.

I need to go make dinner so please ladies, be your own best friends and be kind to yourselves. Love to all!

Each day we begin again.

Hello MALIA4URU,
I am posting here what I put on your Spark page because it might help some of the other ladies like it is helping me:

You will never know how much your post meant to me. Funny that you should talk like you did to me because I am always preaching the same thing to someone:"You will become what you speak", "You need to talk positive".
I did this, not realizing that I need to practice what I preach. Thank you for being honest with me.

And yes, I eat for something to do! I don't need a lot of sleep, 3 hours is good, 4 is fantastic. My mom and brother are exactly the same. I don't like T.V. ; my eyes are too heavy to read, so I eat.

I will definitely try what you have suggested.
I pray you have a FANTASTIC day!

Hi NESARIAN,
Sounds like you are a very busy lady!! Hope your Thanksgiving went will and that you had a wonderful time with your family.

It must have been so exciting to talk to that young man. Now you have a much better idea as to what your Son does everyday.

It's sunny here to and cold. A few snow flurries today but nothing serious.

Thanks once again for helping me out. I have been to my doctor and everything is just fine, or so he says..LOL..I'm not in anguish, just upset with myself. I have always has good self control and I will again.

Hope you are having a FANTASTIC day my friend!
Big hugssssssssss,

Auntbee, if you have to get up and eat over and over during the night, then the eating is NOT actually helping you sleep, it is just giving you something to do when you are awake.

There are three things we can control:
* How I think
* How I breathe
* What I put in my mouth

Think - Your thinking is sabotaging you. You are telling yourself that "it is a dirty habit that I can't break". Your brain is like a computer, and the words you say to yourself will become your reality. You must reprogram your mind. Replace this thought with "I can learn to sleep without eating." Repeat it like a mantra if necessary.

Breathe - Focus on your breathing, this will also take time up while you are lying awake. Your body needs oxygen for fuel just as much as it needs food, so make nighttime the time you feed your body oxygen and try counting deep inhales and exhales instead of sheep.

What you put in your mouth - Find something to do with your HANDS when you can't sleep which will keep you from eating (I use sudoku or crossword puzzles). When your body is tired enough it WILL fall asleep whether you eat or not. And yeah, it may take some sleepless nights, but it takes time to form a new habit. You are worth the effort!

"Even if you fall on your face, you're still moving forward".

I just love these devotions, it gives me hope & faith and keeps me going:

Trusting God’s Timing
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“My times are in your hands...”
(Psalm 31:15, NIV)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

In life, oftentimes we are waiting for something; waiting for a dream to come to pass, waiting to meet the right person, waiting for a problem to turn around. When things aren’t happening as fast as we would like, it’s easy to get frustrated. But you have to realize that the moment you prayed, God established a set time to bring the promise to pass.

God has a set time for your opportunity. There is a set time for that problem to turn around, a set time for your healing, your promotion, your breakthrough. It may be tomorrow, or next week, or five years from now. But when you understand the time has already been set, it takes all the pressure off. You won’t live worried, wondering when this is ever going to happen. You’ll relax and enjoy your life knowing that the promise has already been scheduled and your answer is on the way!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, I choose to trust in Your timing. I trust that You have my best in mind. I believe that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. Thank You for ordering my steps and leading me in the life of blessing You have in store for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
— Joel & Victoria Osteen

These past few days have been so busy. I wanted the tree to go up yesty but busy with other things and hubby wants to start the tree at 9pm. Tea time and wind down for bed for me so tree will have to be today. I am making a veg Thanksgiving dinner as the in laws only do meat foods. Today will be dinner as I am used to it. So, will be busy again.
Oh, I met a young man at the dog park yesty who retired from the Army in 2010 and worked a similar position as my son. He is well versed on the Middle East and I am not so his conversation was sparkling for me. I had an intellectual boost from it.
Sunny but cold here but dogs still need to get out so off we go! The trees are in fully glory with their color now so I can pretend I am in Colorado or Vermont. The only time I am happy my dogs want to stop 'n sniff is now. I can marvel at the leaves and how the same trees can be in various shading of colors. Just so beautiful for me.

Auntbee, I wish I had an answer for you. If you need the food to sleep, I would look into what you are eating and what you may be needing more of. I also would make an appt. to check with my doctor to rule out any medical conditions. This is very important. It could be as simple as thyroid issues. You seem to be in anguish. No need to live this way. It is compromising the quality of your life and mood and causing you distress. Please think about it.

Love to you all!

Each day we begin again.

Just look at you go Slim...FANTASTIC!! Sure wish I had your will power. Glad you had a GREAT Thanksgiving!

Faithful NESARIAN, thanks for your encouragement and wisdom. Happy to know that you had a GREAT Thanksgiving too. I'm sure you are very much in your son's heart; but, you know how it is with young people, they get so wrapped up in what they are doing.

As for me, I am doing awful again. I am so discussed with myself. I keep looking for new ways to get out of this mess I am in; but, I have run out of ideas. Every day I say to myself, "It's a new day. Another chance to do it right. Then night time comes and I know that if I don't eat I will be awake all night. I can't bear another long, sleepless night, so I give in and eat, and then I sleep for a while; then it's up again eating, over and over. I don't eat because I am hungry, I eat because I have made a dirty habit that I can't break. I don't know, I just don't know. On top of all that, I am piling on the pounds.

We haven't failed until we fail to try again!

Made it through my holiday weekend. Focused on relationships rather than food. Needing rest from all the family entertaining. Hope you all had a good holiday and that we can get back on track if we need to. Stay the course everyone and don't give up !

Awesome plan, Slim! You have this day covered!

Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating today!

I had hoped for a call from my son today but did not get one. Other than missing him and my family, the day was loving with my in law family. I did have bitsies of a few foods I normally do not eat. All I want now is my hot tea. Funny what a habit it has become.

I hope you all enjoyed your day and remembered all you have to be thankful for. I am so thankful for all of you. Each of you enriches my life and and experience here.

Each day we begin again.
