I've discovered that when I am busy doing things for others, my stress level goes down. I think I need physical movement and fellowship when I get stressed.

I don't know if you realize how much this team has helped me.

Having somewhere to go and talk about my stress is such a relief and something I have never been able to do before. Prior to joining this group I mostly internalized and ended up overeating during the stressful times.

Some people might not understand what I am saying, and I have only been on here a week but it is really changing my life.

THANK YOU so much. I hope you are all having a stress free and fun weekend.

Thanks for the support. Yesterday ended up going pretty well. My boss told me he knew I was angry when I left and he would have been too. At least he believes and supports me.

We are having a tough meeting with the person that started all of this trouble and stress for me. I hope they don't quit but that will be their decision. I proved what they said about me was not true. Thank goodness for email and having employees that have my back and stood up and told the truth.

I am working out, eating a healthy breakfast, doing meditation and alpha stim before Ieaving this morning. This will put me on the best playing field.

Again thanks for your support and this challenge. I hope I am not tested like this again for a while.

Good going Beachlovr. Glad to see that you did not over eat when you angry or stressed out. The best thing for you to do is get a handle of your stress rather than leaving your job.

I had a tiny bit of stress yesterday. Hoping today will be better.

Made it through a lot of anger and stress last night without eating over it. It did take guided imagery, stretching, exercise, blogging and journaling, talking it out, a nap and finally Alpha Stim but I did not eat.

I woke up at 3am thinking about it this morning but don't feel the stress. I know I have to make it through this challenge. I truly believe at this point that I will have heart attack or stroke over my job if I don't get a handle on my stress or leave my job.

I make minimum wage at my job. I had been thinking about how we were going to make bill payments and buy food etc on Monday while I was at work. I came home and Dan asked me how my day was and I just broke down into tears. And went on this rant about how hard it is to just go to work etc. I've been trying to do stress reduction techniques and I find that it mostly just makes me think about why I'm stressing more. But just releasing my emotions to my partner made me feel so much better. On the other hand, specifically taking time to do whatever I feel like just because I want to has been really relieving. We'll see how this next week goes.

Yesterday was very stressful but I made it through. I got some new goals set and used deep breathing to work through the issues we were having along with some problem solving skills to work through some issues we were having at home with the plumbing.....I avoided crisis mode, tried to recognize the good things that happened, and took time to breathe through it all!

I've been in this group for a week and a half or so and this is my first post. I'm just starting to poke around.

It's been a pretty stressful couple of months (which is why I joined this group!), but since I have I have noticed a difference in my stress level, so that's good. Lately, though, it's been pretty crazy. I've got 3 students that I tutor outside of working full-time, a student that I had to get rid of this past weekend (and what an angry parent they were....), and school (though it's "only" one grad class) is killing me - I have another paper due this week that I'm behind on (as usual - one of my goals is to not pack my time so much so that I don't get stressed later) and so I'm going to be spending the next couple of nights working on that. I also have a second interview on Wednesday for a job in my current company that would pay more and use a lot more of my skills - it would be a great opportunity for me (and a chance for me to get away from my current 'usually negative' team).

One day at a time, one deep breath at a time, and one trip to my (newly joined) gym at a time!

This is my first post here. I just joined this challenge -- wish I'd found it earlier.
I had to bring some work home with me this weekend because I can't seem to be as productive at work as I used to. I have a hard time concentrating and I feel like I'm pulled in about 10 different directions at the same time. I had to write 5 evaluations this week and meet with my staff about them. I wish I could do more for people to thrive at work. There are a lot of unhappy people right now. I'm hoping that the work I did today will help me not have to play catch up next week, but I always seem to be waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I'm really looking forward to getting some help with this!

I had a mixed week. Thursday I let my stress get the best of me. I blogged about it and it helped. I ended the week with coffee with one group of friends and lunch with another.
Today is starting well. I am in a positive mood. I am going to go grocery shopping.
Then hubby and i are going to cirque du soleil. emoticon

I did a lot of physical activity today: 1 hr of power walking, and 1 hour of raking/bagging leaves.
I am plumb "tuckered out" but I think I worked all the stress out of my body. I should really sleep well tonight.

BTW...I managed to pass up all that 1/2 priced Valentine candy. That was tough, but I did it.

When I limit sugar spikes and caffeine and red meat, my joints all do better. I can then build-up when exercising. emoticon

day #3 of the challenge for me... taking the challenge itself causes anxieties, I'm as anxious as always... I've been working on my anxieties for years, so far there's nothing new in this challenge that I've haven't tried before. Really, doing the things to try and prevent the anxieties, cause more anxiety. Writing a journal is not for me, it drives me crazy! I'm not sure if the people who make these challenges understand what stress from anxiety really is!

Last few days have been so out of control with binging , not sleeping and feeling very lonely and anxious that I decided to start over with this challenge. Feeling much better today and have started a journal. I think I'll be writing a lot tonight.
