Back at the pool, emoticon I am enjoying it. I've been eating healthy and have lost 7 lbs. so far. I am on a new pill, and feel better. I had my right knee replaced. I'm waiting for left hip, maybe next year. I'm still doing some yoga, in the evenings, and will ride exercise bike, during the winter.

I have always exercised anywhere from 45 minutes to about 90 min. each week day. I'm now loaded in arthritis and looking at hip and knee replacements. I had to stop the pool, and joined this site, to at least get some time in, exercising. I try for 10 minutes, and ended up with 25 min. today. I ride my bike, and will try some yoga as well. I love yoga, but have to be so careful in what I do. Good luck to us all.

I agree I started this challenge to keep me accountable and there's only been a couple of days where I have stopped at 10 mins. I love how I'm feeling right now.

Once I get started, I like it and even though my goal is 10 minutes I usually do more like 15 or 20 but I'm still not in LOVE with exercise which is what I would like. I would like to be able to get up every morning and say to myself oh goodie it's time for me to get up and exercise! emoticon Will that day ever come?

Remember the slogan "this is the first day of the rest of your life?"

that I've been doing the stress-busting challenge along with this one and am finding the two go hand in hand. I'm using my 10 minute daily exercise as a way to lower my stress. Now that my stress is lower, I have more motivation to exercise. This is a major breakthrough for me! My 10 minutes is now 15, 20 or even 30 because I love how it feels! I didn't realize how much stress was a barrier to my resistance to exercise!!

Dancing is good for the soul and for the body. Good workout. I will do line dancing or zumba. Just love it and time goes by fast. Someone mentioned the Just Dance for the Wii, it is fun and also the Just Dance 2. You will have a ball.

Apricot, do you do the Just Dance for Wii or another system? I was thinking about getting it for Wii, but didn't know if it was any good.

...is that the 15 minutes/day dancing challenge I did with another team covers my 10 minutes here, and is so totally painless that I actually look forward to the exercise. Wow - that's a first.

because of my health issues I have to modify almost everything I do.. at first I balked at the fact but now every time I do something I stand proud because I know how difficult it was to reach that goal

I'm learning to give myself permission to adjust exercises and workouts so that I'm doing SOMETHING!! It's always too easy to put off doing something because it looks too hard for my level --- but modifying it to fit me is better than not doing something at all! And really --- 10 minutes goes soo quickly that by the time it's done, I'm surprise at why I didn't do that earlier.

What sucks is that I busted my ankle today and sprained my wrist yesterday. This is what happens when there is nothing for me to do at work. I start messing with things and end up hurting myself. Silly me. I have always been like this. SO tomorrow I will have to both. No biggie on my end.

Thinking you only have to do ten minutes of exercise is probably more of a mind game. 10 minutes isn't much time at all, so you can't say you don't have time. Once you get started you don't want to start. After you are done, you feel much better about yourself.

Sorry to hear about your back, I know that sucks. But at least you didnt stop and are taking the baby steps.

I oldest DD would play tennis with me only if she didnt have to go chasing the ball. She just likes to wear the cute clothes. emoticon

The tennis club here is a little stuck up for my taste. They had a fund raising game for breast cancer and you could only play if you already had a USTA ranking. I thought the point was to have fun and raise money for a good cause, silly me.

I knew I had the exercise habit, I did not realize how much I actually liked it until I had back spasms this week and had to just walk(and slow at that) Today I was able walk briskly and look forward to gently restarting my workouts. I used to play tennis with my daughter. I'm not very good at it but got a lot of exercise chasing the ball. emoticon

I used to play tennis years ago. I wasn't very good, but at least I took tennis lessons, so I know the basics. It's a good way to get your exercise in. I may have to start playing again. Thanks for the reminder.

One thing that I really have noticed is once I start exercising for the 10min, I really dont want to stop after only ten minutes. I go for about another 10-15 minutes more, especially if I am dancing. I can play that Just Dance game for hours and not even think about it.
