Mellor was before I joined this team. Nevertheless I am sad that this has happened especially during the holidays.

Have a good week.

I remember Mellori and Andrew. So sad they had to deal with such a loss. Thank you for letting us know Jill.

Back to the normal work schedule for me today.

Have a good day everyone!

This is for some of the old timers on this board and for those who remember Mellori. She was active here when I first joined and we became friends over the years.

I do have some sad news to pass along. (Sorry to be doing this so close to Christmas) Mellori's husband Jonas passed away this week after a five month battle with pancreatic cancer. She posted this on Facebook yesterday. Always sad to lose someone, but even sadder so close to the holidays.

Please keep Mellori and her son Andrew in your thoughts.

My family will be here for a lunch and to exchange gifts. After the festivities we will be going to their church to watch a Christmas Pageant that my grand sons will be in. Tomorrow I will be at their home for the day. Busy Christmas time.

I wish all a very Merry Christmas.

On my way to my new normal.

emoticon Happy holidays everyone. I have been quiet, giving myself a little break as I prepare for our family Christmas. My goal has been to simply maintain through the holidays and so far so good! I have managed to get through my holiday cooking so far by making some good choices and being prepared. Chewing mint gum while making cooking seems to be a great deterrent for me. (Also Elaine, you're a great role model.) I have a little more cooking to do today and then I will be done. Looking forward to a great day with my daughter's family on the 24th and 25th. I'll check back on the 26th!

Just finished cleaning both my kitchen woodstove and all the stovepipe connected to my wood furnace. I feel like I have taken a bath in soot, but the pipes are clean. Now if I only still believed in Santa. I would be ready for his visit.

Every day, actually every hour gives us a time to start over. You can do it and you will do it. One step at a time, slow and steady wins the race. I love your dog's pic.

This week seems to be giving me a lot of grief. I can't seem to stay on my path of Gym-time and eating right. I think its just been so cold that I can't force myself to get in the car for the quick drive to the gym. Also, not having a private or quiet area at home, this week, makes it hard to get a home workout accomplished. UGH! Maybe next week!

Have always wanted to visit the Botanical Gardens, but alas, I live quite a ways inland and since I don't like driving at night, I will have to enjoy seeing them on line.

I am thinking of getting brave this year, and try putting up my Christmas tree. It is a small one that I put on a table, but I have not put it up for a couple of years because of my cat. I suppose I will not know how Tabitha reacts to it, unless I try it. She is still a very active young cat, but MAYBE I can persuade her to leave it alone.

Happy Friday everyone. Sounds like everyone is enjoying the holiday season. I tend to decorate my house in stages. Last week was the kitchen do-over, with a Santa motif. This weekend will be the living room; the stockings will go up, as will my Christmas Village. Not sure about my tree. I may put it up next week sometime. I love the tree, but I have a small living room and the it occupies a lot of space so I only keep it up through Jan.7

I have an exciting lunch today. I realized that with my new retired status, my circle of friends has shifted a bit. I still connect with my buddies from work, but much less often. I am a social person and so someone suggested I check out the groups on Meetup. I found one comprised of Women 50+ in Brunswick, so I am going to check out the group today. I will let you know how it goes.

Ortatk- Enjoy the Botanical Gardens. I went a year ago and want to go again. It is a magnificent place to visit

Have a great Friday!

Such a busy month but so much fun. I have my decorations up and tonight my family and I are going to the Boothbay Harbor Botanical Gardens. It is such a beautiful place. I am somewhat worried about the wind. But, we will see what we see. Wishing all a great weekend.

Tis the season to be extra busy. Have a basket class tomorrow so am trying to get ready for that. Just had a friend come and help me with putting shelves in a wasted space upstairs. Projects are getting done even if it is slowly.

All of the adjectives do apply to this month in some way. It would be hard to choose the best one.

Rochelle so happy to hear the news on the lump. You don't need that sorry this month, or any time actually.

I am spending today recharging after finishing by craft fair for th,is year.

Thank you for the wonderful posting for the start of December. This month and its seasonal gatherings and decorations has always been a wonderful time of the year for me. Although I am alone this month I have decorated my home for the holidays. What has changed is that I have cut back on many, many things and that is ok with me. I have learned about being myself and taking care of myself from this site and its many contributors. Thank you all.

Thank you Sandy for turning the page to December.

I believe each of the adjectives below applies for me in different ways and each will be my focus throughout the month. I've always seen December as the closing sentences of one of life's chapters and an opportunity to plan plan for the next one. I am starting the month on a positive note. The lump in my mouth has gone down considerably and the oral surgeon believes it was all part of the healing process from a tooth extraction. No biopsy needed! We'll continue to monitor, but for now, everything looks good and I can take that worry off of my plate.

Dear December,

I was trying to come up with a catchy thought or word for the December Topic. The following list came to mind, but I was not able to choose a favorite. Feel free to take a look and share how these adjectives could describe your December.

Decisive December = a time to reflect and decide the best plan for your next steps to success.

Deliberate December = a reminder that we all have choices, make them deliberate.

Delicious December = Lots of seasonal treats, family recipes, enjoy with moderation and choose wisely.

Delightful December = family traditions, fresh fallen snow, winter activities; what makes your December delightful?

Deserving December = You deserve to have the best health possible. You deserve to be happy and enjoy life. What steps will you take to achieve that?

Determined December = What is your determination for December?

Devoted December = Be devoted to taking care of you and living a healthy lifestyle in all aspects of life. Review the SparkPeople Pyramid to see how this all comes together!
