Hi Shel! Glad to see you peeking in. I know you have a busy week ahead....today is my Friday and I'll be off Mon-Tue with Wed. being Sale Day.

It's an awesome, beautiful, sunny day today and I am loving it...tho I am a weary, worn out girl at the moment...I'll bounce back. I have my Sunday treat...iced tea, lots of ice and managed to avoid fast food when getting it...but had a very friendly, sparky server and folks like that brighten my day.

I was very glad to do the fridge purge before work and someone had snagged the goodies I put out so I wasn't reclaiming that bag of chips! haha Yes...I was tempted!

Have a blessed and restorative day Ladies...that's my plan here, tho I do have a drawer of work to do and some light cleaning before I go home at 5:00.

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

Shel, like Bren, if I see a post here I will come in and say, "Hey," but we won't be hanging out here. We will be hanging out on the challenge thread though.

God bless, Kim

Oh, I'm so sorry! I have been so busy with work, and helping a friend to move...This was one of my favorite teams. The GOOD thing is, we'll see each other on the Other Side (although we may just be too busy worshiping Jesus face-to-face.)

I'll still hang around on the corner if anyone wants to come in for tea...If I could think of anything to drum up interest, I'd go for it....
Be blessed...and strengthened for each day we're given. Love ya'll and you remain in my prayers...

Exactly, well said. The accountability/challenge thread will still be there. We missed each other!

Missy....it's the "chatting", even a few times a week and being connected that made us a "team". One or two can't be a team...it's a matter of talking to ourselves when no one stops by to post and interact....and without that connection we all fell off the train.

It shows on our start page that we have over 1000 "members" yet no one but Kim and I were here regularly and that made us sad and no actions were made by those many members, who never even stopped by here at all. Lilygrace gave it a week...we had all leaders and no troops for a very long time now emoticon

I'm sad to see that ya'll have quit the team. I hope that we can all still keep in contact. I know it can be frustrating when just a couple of us post...but u also have to consider we all have busy lives..and even though we might not have time to post ...does not mean we haven't been reading the posts and keeping up with things.

When youre overwhelmed with the dark dankness of your situation, think of yourself as a miner. Dig deep into the rocky walls and find that sparkling treasurethe positive. In the Bible God talked about the treasures of darkness: I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name, am the God of Israel.3

Well, I got a note from Lilygrace and she is going to be leaving the team. This will be my last post. No one else showed interest in the last 9 days, so we're done! Love you.

I did better allergy-wise when I lived in Texas in Alvarado. I didn't have allergies when I was growing up in Ohio. When I moved to the coast of NC they started and were pretty strong. We moved to Greensboro, NC and they weren't quite as bad as on the coast, got a lot better when we were in Texas, then got bad again when we moved to TN and then to western NC. It just seems like they get worse the older I get. LOL!

I like to tease the checkout ladies. If they can't find the price after a few seconds I say, "Goody, it's free!" No one has ever bought that yet though - they just keep searching and give me a look like, "Yeah, right!" Hey, you don't get it if you don't try!

I have a long blog post for you, but it gives a concise accounting of what and why I believe what I believe. Lilygrace, just so you know some history: I've been with my pastor since I was 15 years old. At that time he was the pastor of a Quaker Church. He went to a Methodist school (John Wesley). God called him to move to Morehead City and start a church there in 1979 and I felt called to go with those who wanted to begin a new Church. I lived there for 7 years. We had a free Christian School, college level classes, something going on at the Church nearly every night. We moved to Greensboro so that our school could reach even more people - brick wall! The State didn't like us. We were there for about a year and a half and then moved to Texas where we could teach our children and not have to be afraid of the State coming in and taking them away (which is something they threatened to do). We were in Texas for five years then moved to TN for 13 years. 11 years ago the Lord called my husband and I to move to western NC to take care of his mom. At that time she was getting around well and lived in her own house, but she needed help with things around the house. When she wasn't able to do things for herself in the yard and around the house, she moved into our basement apartment. We bought the house specifically because it had this place for Mom when she felt she was ready. My husband had two other brothers, but they weren't able to or just weren't willing to take care of Mom. Just after she moved in with us one of his brother's died of brain cancer - God knew! Her other son lived in Missouri. He and his wife moved to NC, but about an hour and a half away from Mom and don't get in our area as much as I think they thought they would. Again, God knew! Our pastor was called to SC and had a ministry in Myrtle Beach for several years. (He contracted West Nile Virus in TN and needed to be on the coast for breathing issues). The Lord called the Church to Beaufort NC about three years ago and they are still there. He has postings on FB and this blog post link is for the ministry posts that he's made on FB just compiled at this blog site. The Church is The Net House. That is a short history of my church life!) Here's the blog post on what we believe and why we believe it!

03/11/19 STATEMENT OF FAITH
I thought I would post my Statement of Faith in case someone would like to see it on here.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
I will address our beliefs more fully, through articles, sermons and studies, but this will give you an idea or our theological and doctrinal position. LABELS
It is difficult to use the terms, "Fundamentalist" and "Evangelical" because they are used differently today than previously. "Fundamentalist" has assumed a hard and harsh, legalistic tone and "Evangelical" is now associated with those who do not believe in the infallible/inerrant/inspired word of God. Even the term, "Bible Believing" is used by groups, which are outside of the historic/orthodox Christian faith (such as non-Christian cults). However, I will use some terms and explain them briefly.

As Fundamentalist, we believe the Bible to be the infallible, inerrant and inspired (God breathed) revelation of God. We believe the fundamental, foundational teachings of the Bible. We believe the Bible is the only authoritative revelation of God.

As Evangelicals, we believe everyone has sinned and sin separates everyone from God. God loves this sinful world so much that He has provided reconciliation to those who believe in the sacrificial death and physical resurrection of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. We believe that faith in the sacrificial death and physical resurrection is the only way to be reconciled with God.

As Wesleyan/Arminians [John Wesley and Joseph Arminius], we believe God enables non-believers to believe in Christ, confess their sins and turn from darkness to light. God saves us from the penalty, power and pollution of sin, through the indwelling and empowering presence of the Holy Spirit. God saves us from legalism and sinning religion.

God created humans to live forever and He created us as free moral agents. With these great privileges comes the responsibility to make right choices. God holds us accountable for the way we live our lives. Christ physically rose from the dead and He will raise everyone from the dead, either to eternal life or eternal judgment, based on their faith relationship with Christ.

THE BIBLE
The Bible is Gods revelation of Himself and His dealings with mankind. It is inerrant and infallible in its auto-graphs (original writings.) It is contained in the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament. In these 66 books are recorded all that is essential to salvation and the knowledge of God. There is nothing extra and there is nothing missing. It is the final authority on anything to which it speaks and is to be trusted and followed in both faith and practice.

GOD
There is only one God. He exist in three Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three persons are co-equal and co-eternal. Since this tri-unity revelation of God is beyond human comprehension, it can only be accepted and understood by faith in the Biblical record concerning Him.

The Bible clearly teaches that there is only one God. The Bible clearly teaches that the Father is God and that the Son is God and that the Holy Spirit is God. Since there is only one God, these three persons must be the one true God.

THE FATHER
He is Invisible; Spirit; Architect of the universe; Executive Director of all affairs and loving Giver of His Son. Much can be learned about the Father by considering what was said by the Son in the model prayer He taught His disciples. (see the Lords prayer Mt.6:9-13.)

THE SON
Jesus Christ is fully man and fully God. As God, He has always existed and always will. One with the Father, He became a man in order to rescue mankind from their dark night of sin and bring us back to the God we had deserted. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and gave Himself to die for a sinful race. He rose from the dead physically, conquering sin, death and hell for all who would trust Him as their Deliverer. He will return from heaven to rule over His kingdom for one thousand years and then will reign forever as King of kings and Lord of lords over a new heaven, new earth and new Jerusalem.

HOLY SPIRIT
He is God. He is a Person and not a mere influence. He is vitally involved in every area of our salvation: He convicts and convinces us of our sin against God, He imparts faith so that we may believe that Jesus died and rose again. He gives us life, enables us to obey and follow His leadership, He purifies our hearts, empowers us for service, imparts spiritual abilities to do spiritual work, teaches us to pray and fills us with perfect love. He is our essential connection to the Father and the Son, therefore we must guard our relationship with Him; do not quench Him, grieve Him, insult Him or blaspheme Him.

MAN
He was created for greatness, but he rebelled against Gods authority and has been estranged from God ever since.

Adam, the first man, was created in the likeness of God. He was both created and made. The physical part of Adam was made from the dust of the earth and the spiritual part was imparted directly from God Himself. Man was created as body, soul and spirit. However, Adam lost his likeness to God when he disobeyed God.

Adams nature was corrupted in his rebellion (known as The Fall). His descendants, all of mankind, inherited their likeness from a Fallen Adam. Man is still body, soul and spirit, however, he is corrupted and polluted in his nature. Death is the fortune of all mankind, therefore all of mans nature suffered loss.

The nature of man is referred to as Human Nature. However, man is also the heir to a nature which was not built into Adam. We have inherited from Fallen Adam a natural tendency to rebel against God. This inherited tendency is often called Sinful Nature.

In Gods saving work, our Human Nature can be redeemed but Sinful Nature can only be done away. Adam was created with Human Nature. Jesus was born with Human Nature. God rescues Human Nature. Jesus took Human Nature to heaven. We will spend eternity with God in our redeemed Human Nature.

Adam was not created with Sinful Nature. Sinful Nature is an attitude of rebellion which found residence in Adam upon his disobedience. Sinful Nature is passed on to all of Adams children. Sinful Nature cannot be redeemed. Sinful nature can be destroyed. Sinful Nature cannot go to heaven.

Man is unable to restore himself to a right relationship with God. However, God gives mankind the ability to believe and accept His offer of salvation.

SALVATION
Delivering someone from an uncontrollable oppressor is salvation. Delivering men from Satan, sin and self is divine salvation. After mans initial rebellion against God, he was not able to return to God. God, though despised and rejected by man, initiated a search and rescue mission. Man was overcome by Satan, sin and self: Jesus intervened in mans behalf and delivered man from these three enemies. Jesus has brought us from death to life (Jn.5:24), from darkness to light (Jn.8:12), and from devil to Lord (Ac.26:18). God has given us a salvation from sin, not a salvation in sin. Mans whole being is saved by the mercy of God and the death and resurrection of Jesus. Though man cannot save himself, God has devised a plan in which there are two sides, the Divine and the human. The Divine side partially includes; forgiveness, cleansing, regeneration and adoption. The human side, by Gods enabling, includes; repentance, confession, faith and obedience. We are saved by grace unto good works. The purpose of God in salvation is to conform us to the image of His dear Son, Jesus Christ. Salvation is not only salvation from sin, it is salvation to being pure, holy and righteous just as Jesus is pure, holy and righteous. Man cannot attain to these high and godly qualities by his own power, but when the Holy Spirit is allowed to work freely in our lives we become partakers of so great salvation.

THE CHURCH
The Church is the Building, Body and Bride of Christ. The Church is comprised of those who have a living and active faith in Jesus Christ and are walking in obedience to His will. The Church recognizes only Jesus as the Head of the Body, and obeys only Him.

END TIMES
We believe Christ may return at any time. His second coming is in two phases, The Rapture and The Return. The Rapture is when Christ raises believers from the dead and transforms living believers into their resurrection bodies and catches them away physically from this world to meet Him in the air. Jesus will preside at the Judgment seat, where believers will be rewarded for their works of faith. During this time there will be the Seven Years of Tribulation on the earth. After the Tribulation Christ will Return to judge the nations and rule from Jerusalem for a literal one thousand years. Following the millennial reign of Christ on earth there will be a final human rebellion against God, resulting in the earth being destroyed by fire. All those who have not accepted Gods salvation through Christ will be judged according to their deeds and separated from God forever. There will be a New Heaven, a New Earth and a New Jerusalem.

Please feel free to ask about our beliefs, we will be glad to share them with you.

God bless, Kim

Good morning Ladies!
I'm so thankful for this new day and the fact it's an off day...my to do list is long and I will plug away a bit at a time in 5 minute increments if need be.
Thanks for adding your prayers to ours, Lilygrace! That's needed and appreciated a great deal.

I had a good day at work yesterday...finished the late notices etc. and Sharon took the verifieds to the post office for me. I told her I'd wrestle her for the opportunity...and let her win.
I had a tenant once, a funny guy...who came in to pay and put his elbow on the counter and said "I'll wrestle you for the rent". LOL...Saying that to Sharon brought that to mind and we had a good laugh. A good humor can lighten a load at times. Laughter is still "good medicine".

My foot did go south last night emoticon I was really hoping it wouldn't. I need to find my surgical shoe and use it because I have a lot to be done. I can wait on laundry but if I'm able to do it tomorrow, I will. I'm so very thankful for my walker and other "tools" for these times. I did do some stretching at midnight, when I was up roaming around and taking an Ibuprofen. I had the restless legs thing going on last night so didn't sleep very well.

LOL! I still tried to slide my debit card for 6 months after I got the chip one and I've done the backwards thing once too. I just claim a senior moment. I don't get out much either!

I'd parked in the red zone rather than the street last night so went out to take trash to the dumpster and move my car. There was a good spot available this morning. There are at least 4 of us with HC tags/plaques...and only 2 HC parking spots at my end, and I do concede them to my two neighbors who need them more than me. There are times when I feel "needy" myself!

Me neither, Kim! On the math! I'd like a little dog like your picture. That's cute. Maybe I like cats a lot because of the napping abilities but hey...dogs nap too! I call it a hobby. The diet one too...could apply to me....I say every morning almost..."today's the day" and by 5:15 I'm off the rails. I need to fix my eyes, heart and mind on my goals....and follow through.

You mentioned allergies the other day and they are bad here too...with all the lovely trees, grass flowers in bloom and it's beautiful! I'm loving it. Not the crying eyes and sneezing part but seeing the beauty of spring makes my heart happy and my face smiley!

Have a good day...take care of yourselves...I will do that here as well and thank God for the gift of this day, His presence, protection and provision...for us all. Love y'all!

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

I'm praying for y'all as well! An occasional binge or going off track isn't a problem as long as we get right back to where we are supposed to be. Make adjustments to your diet and exercise for a few days afterwards to make up for the extra that you indulged in. We have to have those treats now and again or we will end up totally derailing. It's not about denying ourselves, it's about making wise choices and knowing how to adjust when we do want something sweet or pizza-y or whatever the indulgence! LOL!

I have a few things I need to catch up on today, but am just not feeling like my body is going to let me do much. I have a load of laundry that needs folding - not sure the back will let that happen because my SI joints are really hurting today. I also need to run the Swiffer through the house, I think I can do that! LOL! Mom took me to CVS (I don't drive, Lilygrace) to pick up a prescription. What a duh moment - I put my debit card in backwards because I thought the thing on the back was the chip rather than the one on the front. Get out much, Kim??? Nope!

Love the picture, Bren! I didn't even bother to do the math, I figured there was a catch at the bottom. I will have to try that on someone! Here's a cute picture I saw on the Christianbookfinds site:

Oh, here's another cute one:

Good Monday morning Ladies! It's my Friday so I have my happy face/joyful spirit thing going on.

I was not happy with myself on the scale this morning so after a trip to the Noodle Shed and a good prayer session....I'm OK.
I'll get coffee set out, snag a cup and get my work day started. My feet were getting cranked up this morning so that's a warning to lighten up...literally! I have much work to do at home and need full cooperation from the load bearers!

be blessed today....love and prayers as we enter this new week together.

Happy Lord's Day my lovely ladies! I hope that you are all doing well today.

A/C. Ours has a tiny leak so we have to get the air-conditioner guy to come once a year or so to refill it. I asked if we needed a new one and he very quickly said "NO!" This is a great unit and should last a lot more years. Okay by me! I don't like the heat that it gives though, it starts out blowing cold air unless the heat strip comes on - big bucks when that thing lights up the thermostat!

Oh dear, ate pizza for lunch - several things in pizza I'm not supposed to be eating right now. Sometimes a girl has to do what a girl has to do! I'll be good for a while now!

No headache for two days again. I'm not sure if it is the thyroid meds or the pecans, but I haven't done either for two days. I think I will try some pecans tonight and see how it goes! Then I'll know which one is causing the trouble.

Love y'all.

God bless, Kim

I wanted a nap before work but came in early as I wasn't sure I'd wake up in time if I drifted off.
I watched some National Geographic program on Hawaii and the Galapagos Islands ...and saw your namesake fish Kim. (Last name actually) They maintain an area as their farm where a specific algae grows and guard it diligently.

Besides that, I watched some repeats of Say Yes to the Dress and make a lot of snarky comments about some folks having more money than sense. One girl's daddy spent over $200,000 on his daughter's two dresses and 6 bridesmaid dresses at $15,000 each. Extreme foolishness in my view but nobody asked for my opinion. I think of how that money would feed a village or put up small homes for those without! Oh well...if I get that irritated I need to use the remote and go to the weather channel!

Speaking of...it was 79 when I got to work! Hooya! I'm going to work on my late notices, lock out list and collect trash. I ran out of steam yesterday. I should rest well tonight with those clean sheets on my bed!

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

Gak indeed! I had a frowny face at the thought. My fiber stuff probably expired in 2017 or so...it's been that long or more since I used any, I hope the stuff you ordered works great. Those products are easier to deal with than bulking up on food fiber I'd think.

I looked at some of those holder things when I got my new phone but they were all glittery, girly, teenage looking things at Wal-Mart. I don't use my phone enough to need one I suppose....tho I do use it a lot more than I did my old one I tossed in the dumpster that day. With the apps, I can actually have fun with it. Then I get a call and it spooks me! haha

LOL...that's funny and a spot where I'd use that word as well! I joked about my new "smart" phone making me feel really dumb and had to have help just learning to use it and load things! So apparently there are places for the word "luck" or the term "luck of the Irish" would be what? I've not tried to send anything to my computer from my phone but I know I'd have to google instructions.

I just now played with my thermostat thing and see how it works. I had the AC on but was too chilly...seems it was set on 70! I set it to 77. We are supposed to have 90 on Wednesday or so! Hooya! That will be summer like...so the 70-low 80's would be very nice if we could maintain those for a good while. I am so very thankful for the mild winter we had...and I reckon we will get what we get when it comes to temps and wind....and I will focus on being grateful for my days no matter what.

I need to wrestle with the bed sheets today...as in change them....and see what else I can get out of me before work time.

I have another Wal-Mart order to pick up after work and then I want to wean me off the habit of "over shopping". It's easy and convenient but I need to trim my trips to maybe 2 a month. I do the office shopping as well for cleaning supplies, coffee, drinks and office supplies and will try to make do with 2 orders a month as needed. I do know, hauling stuff in exhausts me! I let Chris get the office stuff out and that helps.

Have a wonderful day Ladies....I plan to at my place. Love and prayers for us all...

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

I'm chilly in the house but it is quite warm outside!

I ordered an organic fiber, so we will see how it works when I get it. Phew, I took my prevalite in my shaker bottle with the other tummy stuff I take, and that did not mix it up so I was swallowing grit - gak! I usually do it in some milk and mix it with my hand mixer - will have to do that again if this initial dose doesn't work. I got rid of about four cans of the stuff when my bowels started working right - now I have about 1/3 of a can left (and it's old). So we'll have to wait and see.

Allergies are awful today!

I got a shield for the face of my watch today. Went on pretty easily. They were giving away one of those little holders that go on the back of your cell phone - but you have to give an Amazon review (no problem there), then take a picture of it and send the picture to them to get the free gift! Not going to all of that trouble! I'd have to take the picture with my phone then transfer it to the computer (although I could just try to do it on my phone, but that is just too confusing for me) then send it to them. I don't have such good "luck" sending things from my phone to my computer! LOL! heehee!

Love y'all.

God bless, Kim

Glad to share some funny stuff, entertain or bless in some way.... emoticon

I feel the same way about that term....Good points made. The world doesn't understand nor care much what our viewpoint is but it doesn't change the fact we have it!...and we are right!

I had a couple of short walks in to take 3 locks off this morning and was thankful I got back safely. I am wobbly and not real stable and need to work on my balance and stability as well as strength.

Oh my! There are too many things to watch for aren't there? I'd like a list of maybe 5 things...I can do 5. Well, I can....doesn't mean I uhm...DO.

In watching my sodium and choosing lower-no salt things, many are loaded with potassium chloride...which is a no-no for my kidneys...waah. I don't know how it affects the BP...guess I should "research" some things?

We had a storm last night...that I slept thru but noticed the fall out on my way to work. It was still raining when I put food out for mama cat and she hadn't come when I left for work. I hope she and the babies are safe and dry somewhere. Makes me wish I could scoop her and them up and take them to the shelter up the street. They would take good care of them and love them...and find homes for them eventually.

It turned off beautiful! Sunshine and clear skies...I'm loving it and looking forward to going home at 5:00. I got my late cards pulled and verifieds done but ran out of steam so I'm taking a nice break at the moment. I have 2 things left on my work list.

Hope you ladies are having a really lovely weekend. I am sure enjoying mine. Thanks for prayers, Kim. Y'all stay in mine as well.

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

Bren, you tickle me! Thanks for the teehee!

I was working on my Pastor's Blog posts (I am taking them from his blog and putting them on my word processor so I can always go back and find the wisdom), and got to thinking about "luck". None of his posts addressed this (he'd been posting about how Christians aren't to take up the sword of violence and how the State is misusing it's right to take up the sword). Anyway, I got to thinking about how I decide to read a book. Several lately have talked about how someone's luck had changed - and I choose not to read that book. If the author can't get that right, not much else they say in the story is going to impress or speak to me. "Luck" is preparation meeting opportunity. If you have "good luck" it is only that you were prepared to face that situation; if you have "bad luck" then you simply weren't prepared and came up short. You are either blessed because you followed God (good things happening to you); or you are being tested to sharpen your faith (bad things allowed to happen to you), or you chose to go in the wrong direction (bad things because you chose them). Nothing lucky in there at all because God is always in control if we belong to Him. It doesn't happen because of Luck, it happens because God allowed it to happen and He has a purpose in it. Nope, you weren't lucky, you were blessed! My two cents for the day.

No headache today, but another bout of diarrhea. I took some prevalite afterwards so we will see how that goes. I need to get some of that fiber stuff. I looked yesterday for some organic stuff, but I have to be very careful of what it is made of. One of the meds I take comes from cows - and beef and dairy are both out of my diet right now - but if I don't take this med (supplement) I get very acidy - so, I am taking it. I'd rather be free of the acid than suffer whatever side effects beef has on me! What a balancing act! Praise the Lord there is so much stuff out there that can help us!

I hope you ladies have a wonderful day. You are in my prayers. Kim

God bless, Kim

Alrighty then...I hope that makes a difference. I have a big jar of Metamucil type stuff I'm supposed to use...It's totally tasteless etc. I just don't remember to use it and it takes up shelf space.

Oh I like games like that too. When I'm in those that get much more difficult at say level 97...I am much less likely to play. My current addiction is UNO...but I'm cutting back on that since my home computer makes playing spotty if I can load it at all.

It will be busy this weekend...with pulling late cards, doing the lock out list for Chris, my verified letters to mail on Monday and cleaning the office. Plus my list at home. I want to make that job more fun...and perhaps do what needs to be done as a "sacrifice of praise"? I heard someone say that many years ago concerning exercise...and hey...I need to do that too! Using a timer helps but since I started having so much back/hip troubles, I haven't used one, since my limit seems to be about 10 minutes at a time.

I've been having a few senior moments today...my brain has reached it's limit of functionality for today me thinks...I'll skip the "gym" today...

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

I totally understand about the weekends, have fun!

I sent a note to Diana and she said to suspend my thyroid med for now and I should try to get more fiber. I can only do grains every two or three days so I think I will get a fiber additive.

God bless, Kim

I love it, so pretty!

I found this "game" on my Kindle that is basically a paint by number, Pixel Tap, and I am really enjoying it right now. It is just very relaxing filling in all those squares and then seeing the beautiful picture when you are done. I also have on my Kindle Crossme Color. There is a grid and there are numbers above and to the side and you fill in the columns and rows to make a picture. I've been playing some games too where you decorate your house, that's fun too - but you get to a point where the levels get very hard and then the game stops being enjoyable to be. That's why I like this paint by number game, it's just very relaxing.

Had another headache. I started last night and just hung around all night. I did get up a couple of times to use the restroom too - thank you diuretic! LOL! The last couple days when I've walked Jake my back just got to really hurting - sigh. I sent Diana a note and asked her what I can do - oh, I'm also having diarrhea again, and that is out of the ordinary for me over the past six months or so. Why is it starting up again??? Why all the headaches when they were getting under control??? I'm not eating anything different that should be causing these problems. I did add a different water, a fruit infused water called Hint - that's all that's in it, infused flavor and filtered water - and there is barely any flavor. I won't be getting it again! I also added pecans and that might be the culprit. But sometimes I can eat something fine for a few weeks and then realize it's causing me a problem - so who knows what it is!!!

Well, enough of that. God is so very good and I am functioning and I can still worship, praise, pray and love Him, so that is all that matters!

Love y'all.

God bless, Kim

Good morning ladies! I'm so glad to "see" you both here!

I had a good day yesterday and felt better than I had in quite some time. I managed to get up at 5:00 this morning with the goal of working some more on my chores before work. I am always glad to come home to a neat and orderly environment!

I used the AC for just a bit last night and oh my, it cools down really quickly! I love it! With my chill factor going on the past 3 years, I don't need the AC as much as I used to but I am so thankful for a good new system. Hooya....I remember Missy's heat pump troubles and no heat or air for much too long. God is awesome and I am so thankful for His provision.

I admire your discipline...both of you. For doing your PT moves and taking care of business. I need a lot more of that here at my spot. Every area of my life can use some applied discipline.

I'm going to hit the chore list. I have 45 minutes to make a difference and getting started is a key factor. Be blessed today...here's us some purple, Kim...

I'm so glad you are finding relief and are doing better. I have to laugh sometimes - I have a brace for so many places on my body, if I wore them all at once I'd be covered.

I haven't had any kind of bronchitis or lung ailment since I was 18. Well, on occasion my allergies cause asthma like symptoms, but that has improved greatly over the past couple years. You really bad no choice - I'm grateful to the Lord I don't have to make that choice.

God bless, Kim

Lilygrace, it's been several years now since I had my allergies tested. At that time I very lightly reacted to dog dander, but quite strongly reacted to cat dander. I've probably grown stronger in the dog department, and we do have a dog - but you are a lot stronger than I am in being able to let your dog go. Jake is 9 years old now, a medium sized dog. I think we may have four or five more years with him, but he is showing his age, so I'm not really sure, and I would rather suffer than lose him. It took a lot for us to get him where he is today (I wondered what I had done when we first got him he was so out of control - LOL!) He was a foundling. I tell people we saved him from a Mexican gang since he was running the streets with a chihuahua when a friend of my SIL found him. His owner, at that time, told them that he wished they had run over him! After we got him I had a wee bit of sympathy for him - but the guy never tried to learn what Jake needed. He is totally different from our Shepherd who was a breeze to train (he died just over 10 years ago! Hard to believe.) Jake is my buddy and keeps me company when Wade isn't home. But, I have so many other allergies that I'm not really sure if Jake is one of them! Keep up the good work with the therapy! Therapy and exercises did wonders from me when I had a frozen shoulder. They say it can take up to a year to get a frozen shoulder back to normal - I was moving at 90-95% after just a couple of months. The therapist looked at me really weird, like she wondered if I really had a frozen shoulder - oh yeah, I did! But, I did the exercises twice a day and I have a high pain threshold so I think they were able to push harder during the therapy. That is the shoulder giving me trouble now. I keep moving it around to make sure it isn't going frozen on me again - but so far we are good to go!

Bren, woohoo in getting some stuff done. Taking the dog for a walk and getting my kitchen sorted out are on my list for this afternoon. I got the bottom of the dishwasher unloaded and my back said - no more!!! My shoulder is killing me today, and I had a headache earlier this morning, but praise the Lord that went away. I need to get my hair washed too, but we will see how the back does after I get the kitchen cleaned.

God bless, Kim

LOL! I love both tho my preference is for cats as you know. I think it's because most are rather quiet and refined where dogs want to be loving you all over, loudly and with enthusiasm. Tho I adore the sweet, smaller dogs and puppies and if I was able to get down and enjoy them...I'd go play with some up the street.

I sneak fed the calico kitty again this morning. She has had her babies somewhere and is in need. I did just put food on the pavement, tho my inner feeder wants to do the bowl thing, water and love ya know?

I said something similar on our other thread...about how thankful I am that I don't have a lot of things I "could" have and for God's grace and wisdom to deal with the things I do...diabetes, obesity, joint pain, heart disease, foot issues, Meniere's...

I should retake one of those age tests. It's been several years and I may have had 68 at that time. Not that I have to act my age or anything.

Tho my apartment was strewn about with the closet things for 3 days...I am now good to go...the maintenance man's wife came to help get things back in the closet and I will sort things soon and let some go.

I worked in the kitchen and have just half a sink of yesterday's dishes to do and the floors to clean and I can say it's done for a bit. It had been so long since I felt like doing my work! I am thankful for God's strength for each task and it feels good to finish.

I forgot the eye appointment Tuesday and they cancelled but I'm fine with that. I think most of my current troubles are allergy related anyway. I'll put it back on the calendar down the line somewhere.

It's back to work today...so I'll get myself ready to roll. Be blessed today, best where most needed. Love and prayers for us all.

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

Your profile picture must be you and me - I'm the doggy (person) and you are the (cat) person. I love the face on the cat - quite tolerant I must say! Although, I won't be licking your face if I ever get the chance to meet you face to face - that's just yuck!

I so praise the Lord that I have avoided Diabetes and high blood pressure, two problems overweight people tend to have. I have lots of other stuff wrong with me, but much of it doesn't have anything to do with being overweight.

I think I am still 78 in my body. When I last saw Diana, not much had changed in my fat and in my muscle. I need to walk more! I think part of the fat problem is with the lipodema - but the fat that the scale reads, she said, was the fat around our organs - not sure if the lipo affects that.

Well, I will talk to you ladies later. Remember, live today with all that you've got because yesterday is gone and tomorrow isn't promised!

God bless, Kim

Oh no! I'm currently on Metformin, Actos, Glyburide and insulin! She told me to increase my insulin to 65 units...but because my FBS the day I saw her was 172...she said...172 is not 100. But...if I eat better, I can reduce the units. Last night I took 60 and it was too much. She said back in January that I could come off the Actos, but my average back then was 158....so see where this goes? Can we say noncompliant and uncontrolled? Tho it's so much better than way back yonder when my FBS was over 300 for months on end...I still am looking for that illusive balance and stability!

I did read somewhere long ago...that one unit of insulin per gram of carbs at night? But I google things all the time and somewhere else might show different? I just know I am not well adjusted nor in control of this at all! I'm not giving up tho!

I did up a meal plan of sorts...for the week and here we are at Wednesday so I'll carry over.
I did 3 breakfast choices, 3 lunch and a menu for Sunday-Saturday, based on what's in my kitchen at the moment. I have plenty of good stuff in there.

The AC man finally finished so I can vacuum, and finish in the kitchen since he's done with the breaker box. I have a nifty new thermostat thing and I will really like it...now to get some stuff back in the closet. I started two tubs for Goodwill and will work on that as I clean/sort each area. One tub for goods...one for clothes. I'll have one for the neighbors when I finish too.

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

Good morning all...
Knowing what we're dealing with is part of the battle...a big part....and some things as you said are beyond our scope of "repair"...

I have a couple of those breathing tool things...that you breathe in using the mouth piece and keep the little marker thing between the arrows? My Mom was given one after her heart surgery...and I just bought mine, thinking it would improve lung function as I spend too much time gasping for air. They do help....if one could remember to use them!

I need to get myself to do what will result in physical repairs, as most of my problems are diet and activity controllable, ya know? My motto used to be..."Do what you can until you can do more". I just KNOW I am capable of doing "something"...daily!

Lilygrace, I am type 2, dx 13 years ago. My Dr. has said for 3 years now, get the FBS at 100 average...consistently. Below 85, and I am sick and in trouble...and I hit 81 at 2 AM this morning so was up for an orange juice....went back to bed, got up at 6:20 and it was at 80, tho it had stabilized after the OJ. So...I had breakfast...a juice and yogurt, which got me stable again. The weight however is up again...me no likey.

I had the AC guy in and out all day yesterday, missed my afternoon nap and was cranky by 5:00...He was here again until 6:00 but out a lot of the day...going after things, working on the outside, running into issues he said he needed backup with so they will finish today. He got the heat going but the AC was still nonfunctional. Since he didn't have a filter with him, I couldn't run the heat and that's what I needed yesterday!

Another guy is here now and hopefully will be done soon so I can get back to my "project restoration". I loved the picture I found yesterday and it totally could be my spot at the moment! Space is at a premium and I want more...which requires me to do the work! I pay way too much in rent to not be using and enjoying my space...every square inch of it!

I did spend some quality time in the kitchen yesterday...got the dishwasher run, plastics started...oh my...I had 2-3 weeks worth to do by hand it looked like...am almost finished with that task...
I got the fridge sorted, cleaned and $30 worth of produce tossed again...Bummer. I sorted and cleaned the freezer as well and scraped down the ice for the first time in a year. I have enough frozen veggies for a family of five for a month in there.

I'll get the trash out today, finish the kitchen and start getting things back in the closet...and hope Shane can help with the heavy stuff...then to vacuum, mop the kitchen, dusting etc. to make me all comfy again in my spaces.

I need to do a kitchen inventory and make up a meal plan that is beyond a sandwich and reduced sodium Fritos. It's been too long since I did planning or prep...but I do remember how...I think!

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

I've tried to wear a mask, but I don't know if it's my claustrophobia or my asthma from my allergies, but I have trouble breathing when I put something on my face. I'm pretty sure it's the claustrophobia, because even if I wear an oxygen mask I don't feel like I am getting enough air! LOL!

I tracked out my food today. Even with the extras I've been eating (microwave popcorn and some extra nuts) I am still within my calorie range. When I take away some of the carbs (one of my Truwomen bars and the popcorn) my calories go down to the bottom of normal range (1066). That will be my calorie range for today and we'll see if I stay as I am or lose a little an ounce or two. My weight was up again today and it's been confusing because I have been within or very close to my calorie range: 1000-1500 a day. The range that SP gave me is higher than that, but when I eat that much I gain, gain, gain. It's a balancing act. When I was on a 500-700 calorie diet (from my NP), I didn't lose nearly what I should have lost. I lost 7 pounds over 30 days and I could have lost as many as 30. I should have lost at least 15. If I don't lose something from today's meals then I am going back on the diuretic. I have lymphedema and lipodema. Lymphedema causes me to retain fluids and lipodema causes me to retain fats (that won't go away with diet or exercise, only liposuction can get rid of the fat accumulated from lipodema). Pear shaped people (large on the bottom, smaller on the top) need to be aware of this disease, because that is one sign that it might be there. It's a genetic disease and yet I didn't find out I had it until I was 57. They lymphedema in me is also genetic and I was in my early fifties before my doctor realized I had it. The signs for both diseases have been there since my teens though. Doctor's don't recognize lipodema because the AMA and the insurance companies believe that it is simply a "fat" disease. For a couple of years my doctor had fibromyalgia on my list of problems because the lipo causes severe pain in the legs and also in my arms. He finally recognized my lipo about a year and a half ago and talks about that now as one of my problems to be considered in my treatments. Diana, my functional med NP recognized it from the start. I do need to move more though, I'm too sedentary.

Tonight's dinner was a spinach, berry, protein powder smoothie. Filled me up.

I switched my water from Sobe to Hunt - they were right, there is barely a hint of fruit infusion. Hint is out and Sobe is back in.

No snow. Actually, we ended up in the 60's. Maybe later this week it will get here.

Bren is in Texas and I'm in NC. I get her weather a couple days later, that's why I may get see that cold wet stuff yet.

My house is in between the two. I can't vacuum and dusting sets off my allergies so I don't do it very often, but there isn't a lot of clutter - just a wee bit.

God bless, Kim

Oh no! I'm glad you figured it out before you conked out!

Oh man, it's the same way at my doctor's office. You get there on time, early actually to fill out paperwork. Then, twenty minutes after your appointment time they are taking me back to a room where I wait another thirty minutes for the doctor to come in. It's frustrating, but when he spends time with me and we are able to talk everything through, I understand he is doing that with his other patients too and thus the back up! I like that about him, he takes time with his patients. I just wish they would allot more time on the books for him to spend with patients rather than backing us up! I have been getting in to see Diana right away. I think she allots 30-60 minutes for each patient.

Oh, that's funny about the phone. If I don't know the number and there is no identifying name, I don't answer it. If I get a voice mail, then I know it is someone who meant to call me - although, yesterday I got a call like that and when I checked the voicemail all I heard were background noises. I think the person forgot to hang up when the voice mail came on! LOL!

Cold here today and snow and rain are in our forecast too! What's up with that???

I was posting some of my pastor's blog posts onto my word processor and came across some that were about violence and Christians.

03/02/19 WHO SAID THAT?
Not me, but God said, "love your enemy," [Mt. 5:44] "we wrestle not against humans," [Eph. 6:12] "our weapons are not physical," [2 Cor. 10:4] "do no violence." [Lk. 3:14].

No where in the NT does it say it's okay for a Christian to use violence. My question: Where were the gun-toters when the law passed in some states to kill babies as far into the pregnancy as nine months?

Love y'all. Kim

God bless, Kim

Good morning ladies! Oh, Kim...me too! I might could cut down to a cup a day if it was that size?
I had one of those at my PCP last week...appointment was for Noon, with request to show up at 11:30 and at 12:30, I was called back, to wait some more...Aren't we glad when they are done? They are exhausting.... and we don't feel so spiffy beforehand! It's good when things are progressing as they should tho...always!

We finally got some sunshine yesterday but I did not know we had a 20% chance for....snow emoticon Was that a forecaster's April Fools joke? I was so chilled and ended up hovering over the heater and wearing my co-worker's jacket since I didn't know I'd need one....and mine is at home.

I got a call on my cell phone, I thought was my phone acting silly, as it did ghost calls when I first got it...like to New York and a local funeral home! It was from my complex office...and I kept trying to turn it off...LOL...Senior moments all day. It was the office calling to let me know the AC guys were in my apartment replacing my unit and letting me know so I wouldn't be alarmed to come home and find men swarming about and everything out of my closet.... They were here until 6:00....

So....I did not have a healthy or comforting dinner! I have a bad case of indigestion for my efforts today and high FBS and BP....I hope you ladies fared much better!

I had a bit of a scare yesterday at 10:30 AM....was feeling really sick, even thinking of asking to come home...then oops...thought to check my sugar and it was 58....ack! I kind of over treated...with a spoon of peanut butter, a yogurt, peach cup...then remembered my orange juice....duh...and had a half bottle of that. It took about 45 minutes to get stable at 118...That was a wild and hairy ride. Three of my 4 balance balls seem to be on the ground at any given time. I'm not a good juggler but I will keep trying.

While the guys are here today to finish up, I'll play in the kitchen and stay out of their way. I suppose they will put things back in the walk in when they are done...tho it would be a good time to sort and release while all the tubs are out...but I'm not "feeling" it today!

What it feels like...

What I want....

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

Ooo, that's my kind of coffee cup!

Praise the Lord for sunshine! Still chilly this AM, but I'm so glad it's sunny today.

Have a wonderful and victorious day!

Hey...knowledge can be a good thing! I like to know why certain things are going on...but retain little of what I might learn! I'm so thankful it's a rare occasion for me, like with the headaches. I did have a mild one this morning but took some Tylenol so should be fine by work time. I hope your headache took a quick hike!

Thinking about your story is a great way to pass some time...and help you rest.

I had a busy weekend! I had 5 rentals and a lot of payments so got a head start on today by posting the payments to the cards and making a list to get posted in the computer this morning. I found an error on one of my credit card payments, missed a number in writing down his info so will have to call him. We have one of those slide machine things that hangs up so I wrote the info on the slips....and I have a handful to process. Fascinating, right? It was fun and kept me occupied.

I love the beginning of a new month and especially these moving us into milder, warmer weather! March just flew by! I'm ready for sunshine and days in the 80's and outside time.

Have a blessed week ladies...I look forward to my off days, Tue/Wed...and making headway on getting things cleaned up and a collection ready for Goodwill.

Lilygrace...hoping to see you often and hope you continue to feel better in the days ahead.

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

I learned I had adrenal fatigue and my cortisol was backwards which was causing my insomnia. I'm with you in talking to the Lord during that time. I've been writing a story in my head for years, so I think about my story (Christian themed) at that time too.

A headache this afternoon. Sigh.

God bless, Kim

Thanks, Doll! That's a great way to handle that!

I do that often too...and then as I go down for the night, I ask God to hold me, heal me and strengthen me for the new day ahead. Living alone, as I do...He's the last one I talk to at night and the first in the morning!

I'm so very thankful it's not a regular occurrence but it has happened twice in the past 3 days now. Sometimes, I'll go do some laundry or something but hey...if I start that, I HAVE to finish!!
We currently have only 2 working washers of the 4 and one has to get an early start to get first dibs. Laundry did not appeal to me in any way this morning!

Oh Yay! That's a good report, Kim!

I had another night with some insomnia which threw my morning off. I was up roaming around at 2 AM and ended up taking two naps before work time instead of playing with my chore list!

Lilygrace....we do get that! When I joined up, there was so much going on I wrote notes and names in a list to do responses. It was busy and fun. Me too...in the prayers for God to lead and guide ...our team and our decisions...to stay or go.

I'm at the office early and had a guy come in to pay already. I have a lot to put in the computer in the morning to get April off with a bang. March just flew by!

We have sunshine today and the wind isn't quite as wild but it's still chilly for this girl. I'm thankful for the little heater down in the hole...and for ice in my water. I brought a bag for my Sprite Zero later as well.

Have an awesome and blessed day, Ladies! Wishing you joy for the journey and strength for each task today. Love and prayers~

If people would show an interest, I would stay with it, but you are the only one who has responded to the team ending - no one else really cares, which makes me very sad. I am leader of another team - Christian Bookworms which has three regular posters and the occasional post by others. If you are willing to show up and post, then I would be willing to keep the team going for the three of us.

Praise the Lord, day four without a headache. God is very good. Happy Lord's Day everyone.

God bless, Kim

I do, thanks, Kim!
I finally dragged my computer into the bedroom but the box won't fit under the desk with the backboard thing under there...so I spent a few minutes wondering where it could go, feeling overwhelmed and considering returning it....then took a gander at my clothes closet, pulled out my 3 drawer bin thing and it fit in perfectly, against the wall and I had just enough room to put the bin back and still close the door...hooya!

Then I got the dishwasher unloaded, reloaded, trash collected and taken out...and the vacuum is out and ready to use in the morning. I got that long chore list ready and can start marking a few things off now.

Oh yay! 3 days w/o a headache. That's great. Oh...I got into a movie on TCM last night...Turner classic movies...it was Alfred Hitchcock's Dial M for Murder. I didn't finish tho, as it was 8:30 and I'd had insomnia the night before and was ready for bed. I rested pretty well but did have some back and hip pain that woke me about 3-4 times. I'm finally getting up at my regular time again and that gives me some chore time before work.

It's chilly enough today that I had to get my heater back out of the storage room! Strong winds today too. I played over at pinterest for a bit....bwaa haahaa

Lilygrace4, I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well. I wish that we could continue on with the team, but it's just been Bren and I for so long, well, we just don't feel like we can keep the team going when no one else shows up, except for the occasional stop in to say "Hey!" It's disheartening. We will still be on SP and will help you in any way that we can if you just let us know through our home pages. Thanks again, for being a part of our team. God bless.

Bren, I hope you are feeling well today. I was naughty and stayed up late reading a story that was three short books long! Tattie Maggard writes Swiss Amish stories. I just started reading her when I downloaded through Kindle Unlimited her Starter books anthology. I'd get into the story in the anthology and then have to go and get the rest of the books in that series. Her stories abruptly end in one book and seamlessly continue on in the next book. She does get a little bit steamy when her characters kiss, but other than that they are clean reads.

I am feeling a bit better myself. This is day three without a headache. Woohoo! Diana gave me a sample of a natural anti-histamine and immune system builder. I looked it up in the dispensary she has on her site, but they don't carry it, so I checked on Amazon and it's $75+ - way too much for a month and a half worth of meds. I looked up what each of the ingredients does and found another supplement with similar ingredients for 1/3 of that cost and will try that instead. I have other supplements that I take when things get rough and that seems to stop the symptoms pretty quickly.

Not much else going on with me, just getting small chores done and then watching some stuff on youtube (cooking shows, baking championships, Charlie Chan movies - LOL).

Love ya, sister.

God bless, Kim

Thanks Lilygrace, for posting! We hung in for a long time, hoping others would join us in this journey, and we do need a Christian team, I feel. I'm so sorry you've been so ill and out of commission! Praying for a full recovery for you and blessings of strength and restoration.

I agree...We've been talking to ourselves for 3-4 years at least it seems, maybe longer. It takes regular connection and interaction...drive and desire to keep things moving. I confess I've been in the ditch so much the past 6.5 years...since Mom died, I had my 2 heart attacks and 2 other hospital runs, decline in health and great decline in self care....and the gain of 35 pounds after starting the Actos 4 years back. I have failed miserably at being a team mate much less a leader...

I've been on here for 13 years now! I'd joined a year before I actually joined this team and started posting! Wow...we were spring chicks back then!

Ditto! I'll see you somewhere and play catch up. I love you lots and am so glad to have had you in my corner all this time.

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

It's sad letting the team go. I know that Missy begged us to keep it going last time, but now she is one of those occasional visitors. She can keep it going if she wants to, she is on the leaders list, but I'm just done trying to keep it going when there just isn't any real interest. I am a leader of the Christian Bookworms team (after the original leader just disappeared, kind of like Carol did here years ago). I've been on SP for 12 years and on both of these teams for that long. At some point, when there just isn't any interest, you have to let it go. We'll keep in touch though, I would hate to lose your friendship.

God bless, Kim

Oh Cool! I didn't know that but now that I do, I'll go for the dark roast next time! Thanks for the mention. I'd ordered some Kona blend once from Amazon and whined about it. LOL...I expected "superior" flavor for the price. I'd got the beans so I could grind my own. I love doing that and it's been awhile now....but I think I'll order the whole bean next time for fun. Mine is a 4 cup coffee maker and I do use the Keurig on occasion for a single cup if I want more.

While I am sad to let the team go...there has been so little activity beyond us two for way too long and I too am not a "leader" ....that stirs up activity or interest. I know we are not the first team to go south as I've looked in at others randomly with little to no action! It was a fun ride and of long duration....but we can let it go. Thanks for doing the team message. I've never done one!

Oh yay! I'm glad you got it to charge. We don't like glitches or troubles....and buying new things if we don't have to!

I was tempted to let my new computer go back...it came in yesterday and I'd have to have it picked up and returned. The price was low enough tho, I'll keep it and see if I can shove the box under my desk...

I love you too my friend and wish you great success in whatever endeavor you set your mind and heart to....be blessed!

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

How cute! I eat coffee salad every day too! It's on my list of things I can consume, so I am going to do it. I ordered some organic coffee which should be better for me though. My SIL said that dark roast is also better for us since it has less caffeine and less acid! I will look into that when I finish this bag. I have a little single cup coffee maker, so I can make my coffee every day. Wade uses the big coffee maker.

Well, I have taken myself off as being leader of this team. If you want to remove your name, you can go to the team start page. On the right there is a small box above the team leaders box that gives you options of things that you can do for the team, one of those options is add or delete a leader. The third option down when you get to that page is deleting yourself as a leader. One click does it. I did send out a team message, I thought it only fair. I said that I would be leaving the team as of the 1st of April, if others wanted to keep it going they would have to become the leader. We will have to have an appreciative influx of interest for me to stay on here, but not as the leader. As the leader I haven't been able to cause the team to thrive, so someone else needs to give it a try or just let the team go. I can no longer delete the team from SparkPeople because I am no longer a leader. If you want to stay a leader until the first, then you will be able to delete the team. I'm not sure how to do that, but it may be that a note has to be sent to SP to let them know the team is going defunct.

I tried to power up my watch this morning and just couldn't get it to work. I ordered a new charger and then put the watch on the charger I had one more time - it worked! Sigh. I went back and cancelled my order. I think that the watch face has to be on the screen for it to charge, and I wasn't on the watch face when I tried before. Praise the Lord. I did order a screen cover to protect my screen though. I really like this watch.

Well, that is about it for now. Love ya sister.

God bless, Kim

OH No! I hate when that happens! I've been resting fairly well the past week or so with a little less hip/back pain and it's been a long time since I had the hen-rod issues. (my Daddy's word for them)

Hope you get a good report from Diana and some clear instructions/direction.

I did up some new brochures with our new prices on them. I'll get those folded and in the rack shortly. I'm ready for 5:00 already. It's been a good day...but I've had a few hacking fits that make me whiny.

I've done well with my food so far...and will dig around in the fridge for salad things tonight and clean the fridge a bit in the process. This is my current plan.

Another rough night last night. I not only had back pain, but at around 4 AM my hemorrhoids started to hurt badly. I ordered some Tucks for when that might happen again! Wahhh! Okay, I'm good now!

I see Diana today in just about an hour or so, I'll let you know how that goes.

Love ya

That's a great report! Hooya...good rest is essential and it's such a blessing when we have it.

I wouldn't know what to do with braces and such. I worked for over 10 years at a company that made them....but other than a wrist one I made for bowling, I never used one.

I forgot to stop by the desk to make my next appointment so will call and do that this morning. I'd better get on the stick and make the needed changes. I'm the only one who can do that for me.

Love those references/posts. Thank you! Number two really hit a chord with me and I want to do that. He deserves our all....as He certainly gave His and continues to do so, daily.

It's cloudy and we have a chance of rain today. Looking across the highway, I see the tree leafing out and love that. You can almost watch the progress!

I need more coffee and then need to get started on my desk full of work. I am blessed to have this job to come to...even on the days I'd like to stay home emoticon

Be blessed today....

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

Praise the Lord, I slept well last night without the pain that I had the night before. God is good!

I had on my leg compression thingy's today as well as my shoulder brace. I have to figure out the shoulder brace though since it isn't tight enough across my shoulder to cause compression and ease the inflammation and pain. It came with some of that kin... tape that you see on sports guys - but it just stuck to me and made me a little bit itchy, but I didn't notice it helping me any. It came with the brace so I thought I would try it.

Here are some blog posts I thought were very good. The posts before these were talking about how God deserves our praise during the good times more than the bemoaning we did in the hard times. He deserves our praise no matter our situation.

02/23/19 MORE THAN PAGAN gODS
It's appropriate that the God of the Holy Bible (the risen Jesus Christ), gets more outward praise than pagan gods.

02/23/19 WITH TOTAL PRAISE
It's Biblically appropriate to praise God with life, voice, hands, music, reverence, emotion, thanksgiving, service.

02/24/19 LIVE WORTHY OF HIS NAME
When we are called by the name of God (Christians), we ought to bring His Name honor and glory.

God bless, Kim

I had hoped I'd get better service with Suddenlink but it's super slow like AT&T was, and I really only save about $15 a month after switching and AT&T are still trying to get 1.5 months worth of money and I didn't have service at all after the accident that took out the line at pole January 11th. They are wasting ink, paper and postage on that endeavor.

I deleted a ton of pictures and downloads this morning, and shredded the one sensitive document I was concerned about having on the hard drive. I don't care about anyone who might see my menu for the week or weekly checklist. AVG has a "shredder" thing that will destroy a document. that was nifty.

We are to have 86 on Friday and then high 50's and very windy for the weekend! Ack! Oh well...in the grand scheme of things the temps and winds are but such a small part of the day....but yes...I am so ready for steady warmth and sunshine as well! Some days we get what we want...or need...and some days we get what we get!

Oh no! Oh that sounds really miserable emoticon And meds didn't help? That's really bad. Prayers for a better night tonight and the comfort God provides. Makes my pain feel more like a 2 on the scale when reading that!

I'm off to have some TV time...and drink my water. I got nothing done today with my 2 hours out with the Dr.'s appt. I'm glad that's done and will get to work on my "To Do" list to see much improvement in 4 months when I return.

I love you my friend....and you remain in my prayers....as do all our Girls emoticon

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

I keep thinking about needing to call Spectrum about our slow speeds as well. We upgraded to the 200mbs several months ago, and for a little while it was faster, but it's slowed way down again. Bummer! When we are trying to watch something on the TV that is streamed, we have to wait for the TV to really warm up or we are waiting forever for things to download. My Kindles are downloading really slowly as well. Although, my computer seems to be doing well - hmmm???

Having bad back pain since last night. I couldn't get comfortable at all so I took my pain meds, then I took other pain meds, then I took more of the original pain meds - nothing! I finally lowered my bed to flat and lay down on my tummy - that felt better and I was able to go to sleep. I eventually had to raise the head of the bed again when I started to get a headache. I can't lay flat with a headache, and I needed to let my sinuses drain! Praise the Lord the headache did stop - God is good! I was braced up this morning with one on my shoulder and one on my knee. I need one for my back though. I have my TENS unit, but I have no idea where it ended up! LOL! I haven't used it for awhile, it only gives relief while it is on. Oh well, Lord willing we will get it figured out.

Rain, rain, rain and chilly weather. Sigh. I'm ready for some warmth and sunshine!

Love ya

God bless, Kim

Oh No! I'd be crying a lot...well internally anyway! Ack! Isn't that how it happens a lot...you take something for one issue and it causes others. Waah!

Glitches...in computers, and life...I have to be thankful many are "small"! I got my computer back from Office Depot and they were able to fix it...but....glitches! First, logging in...and one of me requires a password I no longer remember so I had to restart. My start stuff is now at the top and I prefer it at the bottom...I'm sure there's a simple way to do that...It's still slow as ever....but hey, it works and when the new one comes, I'll have a backup system should I need one. Speaking of backup...I'll maybe do one eventually if I find my blank CD's.

Perhaps I'll find those blanks when looking thru my tubs and closets for give away stuff. I'll get started on my work list in a bit...and hope to make good progress today and tomorrow.
I'll see my Doctor today...then next week, the eye exam, the 16th I see my cardiologist and I want to get on track and stay there to make progress in that area as well! I've been on a sandwich and chips kick for a week so am in trouble emoticon Reduced sodium is not LOW sodium....and we won't talk about carbs, right?

Dusting off the dregs/crumbs of yesterday and climbing out of my ditch again.

Yeah, Tai Bo is for the younger folks! (Like people 55 and under - LOL).

Woke with another headache today. It seems like yesterday and today has been one long headache, although mild most of the time. This is a side effect of the Armour for my thyroid though, so I hope that I get used to it soon and this goes away.

I don't like something on this computer. When I do a double space between paragraphs, the icon doesn't move both spaces but just stays under the last paragraph until I start typing. I'm never sure if I actually did do two hits of the enter key, so some of my spaces are three deep! LOL!

Not much else going on with me, so I will let you get back to important stuff. Love ya

LOL...I googled for pictures of wiring in India...knowing how bad it is...don't know where this was but it was close. One of the plugs I'd found went to my calculator...not sure it works, but it has battery back up. I hope the tech guy can get my computer functional...I'll know soon I suppose.
In my apartment, lighting and plug ins are all in short supply! I have multi-plugs all over the place.

I've been having more pain of late but am so thankful it's not headaches or toothaches! I printed some things for seniors yesterday...stretches etc. that I can do at home or office. CAN being the operative word. DO being the key one! Walking was a real hardship this morning.

I need to work on my sale notices today and clean the office a bit. I miss my Sunday tea...but am making do with cold water.

I had my paperwork for my Dr.'s visit on the table and it got ruined...by a rotted Halo! I'd bought a bag yesterday at HEB and it had a rotted one in it. That's happened before. So....I don't have my 8 week charts for my averages, meds list or the paperwork for the handicap plaque thing. I can use the meds list in my wallet, and print more paperwork for the HCP but the 8 weeks chart is a bust. Since I had labs done and she has that 7.7 A1C....I should be OK.

I look forward to getting some cleaning done on my of days coming up...and putting laundry away. I won't wait a month before I do that again. I put a box of goodies out for give-away this morning. I finally let Shrek and Ice Age movies go. I'm not fging to watch them again and some kid might like them. My Tai Bo went too...I can't do that anymore...if I ever even did!

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

Wow, that wiring is definitely a mess.

I am having trouble finding a cord or a charging box that works on my 10' Kindle. Well, that's not quite right - I have a 3' cord that works, but I have to use the Kindle on the arm of the sofa for it to reach! LOL! But, it doesn't hurt my shoulder to use the Kindle there like it does when it's in my lap. LOL! I think the problem is in the connector on the Kindle. I read some on Google about cords, and it's not a rare problem for the Kindle connections to come loose. This is my first Fire to have that problem though, so I am very glad! At least one of the plug in's works!

Sorry I wasn't here yesterday. No excuse, I just didn't get on the computer.

I went to sleep last night before 9 PM. I was so sleepy! I woke about 1:30 with a bad headache. Got up about 2:30 to take my migraine meds even though the headache was across my forehead it usually turns into a migraine. Finally went back to sleep about 4:30 and got up at around 9 - I figure I got about 8 hours of sleep in that 12 hour period! LOL! I need to figure out what is causing all these new headaches. Allergies is my guess, but they usually only happen during the night - but that doesn't mean something I am eating or getting into isn't causing it - often reactions can take anywhere from instant to 48 hours - so who knows!

I'll talk to you more over on the other thread. Love ya

God bless, Kim

Yay! I finally got all the wiring mess under my desk sorted, found 3 cords not attached to anything but hogging a plug in port...swept under there where I'd knocked the shredder over maybe 5 years ago. It no longer looks like this.

I'll take my computer to Office Depot tomorrow and drop it off. I need to be able to get it booted up to even clean up the hard drive...may let them do it....to get my personal files and financials stuff off of it? I should get my new one in a week or so.

LOL! If I figured it right, I'll get back $696 of my $800...LOL...and pay off Wal-Mart for the 5th time.

OK...that answered that question. I thought you had mentioned that fall and hurting your knees! I almost fell in HEB once after they had cleaned but not dried the floor...no warning sign was around either!
I looked at a pair of slip ons at Wal-Mart this morning, with a Velcro close but the smallest pair was an 8...I think I was in the men's section. I'll look again when I'm not rushed, looking at computers emoticon

I had to zip out to take some locks off and it was very nice out, but the sun hid again already. I actually look forward to summer but hope for a lovely, extended spring first.

Oh goodness! That would sure be over my head! LOL...I do good to know my name some days, forget electromagnetic fields of blue bonnets. I get the blah blah part for sure. heehee

I saw on the news last night about CBD oils, creams etc. being sold at uptown stores now. Everyone and their uncles wants in on all the new fads. Now they say no...to the aspirin for heart patients after shoving that on us for decades....who knows but God...what's real, right, and worth doing daily? I'd LOVE some real pain relief....but am lazy so if it required effort, it would be wasted on this girl!

Speaking of...I need something now. Tylenol...I can do that...Oh wait! I need someone at my place on kitchen duty! I did load my regular dishes yesterday in the dishwasher but have an overflowing sink of plastics to do by hand if I can get me to do them...For living alone, I sure accumulate a lot of laundry, dishes and trash...bummer.

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

Wow, you would have thought they would have kept their mouths shut on the tax thing being happy that you overpaid and had no idea! LOL!

Crocs do cause slippage when you are walking on wet asphalt - that is how I hurt my knees. We were walking into Sam's and I stepped on one of those painted lines and down I went onto my knees! I paranoid about those stripes now, no matter what I wear! LOL! I like to wear the crocs around the house in the summer instead of slippers. They give my feet support but don't make them hot. I just got a pair of slip on shoes from Zulily. We'll see if they hold up better than the ones that I got from them last time. I loved the last ones I got, they were really comfortable, but they kept coming apart at the side. I Gorilla glued them without mishap the first time, but the second time the glue globbed up on the side and it looks terrible! The Gorilla glue held that second time, but looked terrible! LOL! We'll give these other ones a try, they are a different brand.

We are supposed to warm up but it is still chilly here today.

I went to Diana's open house yesterday at her new place. It is really nice and will have more privacy than her last place had. She can also have more help there as well because there are more offices. The lady who had the BEMER when I was in there last time was there again so I had her put it on my shoulder. I get relief for a short period of time, but I would have to use it every other day to see lasting pain relief. There are other brands of the PEMF mats, and they are cheaper than the BEMER, but I just don't know if it will really work for me and that is a lot of money to spend on something I'm not sure about. When I read about them it's a lot of mumbo jumbo about electro-magnetic fields and aligning our magnetism to the earths - blah, blah, blah. But, it also works on the macroveins and helps to open them up and move the blood through your system more effectively. I don't know. The lady who showed it to me has found relief from the side effects of her MS, and Diana has found pain relief from hers - but I just don't know - it sounds like a fad to me!

Well, I will talk to you later. I am on kitchen duty!

God bless, Kim

Me too! Other people scare me silly and I don't need the help!
I wrecked my pickup and hit a lady who ran in front of me in my Chevy Lumina, then had both of those hit in the parking lot at home.

Crocs...I finally let go of my knock offs a couple of years ago. They terrified me after my slip in the mud that morning and I went down flat...I don't know if real ones would have that issue or not but I'm afraid to try!

Oh me neither! I don't go in the Target store but have ordered things for shipping to home...with free shipping. That gender junk is so absolutely ridiculous and makes my face frowny. It's shoved in our faces daily.

I just checked our weather, after going out for lunch and it was wonderful! It's 68 but with a feel of 77...hooya!
Oh no...on the grass allergy...bummer!

I think I figured out the tax thing. I had paid taxes on the full amount of my Social Security earnings and I should have done half as taxable....if I understood the corrections? If so, I should get a hefty sum back of what I paid in...I'll see....

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

OOO! I saw an accident when I was a teenager and working at my grandparents fast food restaurant (Dog-n-suds). This car got hit from behind and then it caught on fire. They guy who was driving came into the restaurant and ordered something to eat while he waited for the emergency vehicles to arrive. He was a former police officer! LOL! There was a cop car just two cars farther down the line of traffic too, so that made getting them there much faster! I was in three accidents myself and had whiplash twice out of the three. One of them was when a drunk hit us in the side after going through a stop sign. I saw it coming and Wade was able to lessen the impact by heading for the ditch just before he hit. I was pretty banged up but we didn't go to the hospital. The first one was our being in the second car forward of a rear-end hit. We were hit by the car that got hit, and I still got whip-lash pretty badly. I think that is why I have pain in my neck before I get a migraine, a bit of arthritis in there. The third time was just a glancing blow but it threw me forward and I got a wee bit of whiplash from that one. There wasn't even any damage to the car! I don't drive partly because of these three accidents - I just don't trust people not to hit me if I were driving!

I love my Croc slip on shoes. I've had a pair of flip-flops by them for years, and I just ordered a pair without the little toe thingy. I bought a pair of shoes from Zulily that were soooo comfortable, but unfortunately they broke on the side and twice I've had to Gorilla glue them back together. I'm hoping that this new pair will work better for me. They have a bit more support than the flip flops.

I haven't gone to Target for quite some time because of their "gender" rules for their store. Their tags on many of their clothes are gender neutral. My niece works there and she said she isn't sure sometimes where an outfit goes because all the tags look the same now. They even carry gender neutral children's clothing - you know, for those tykes who can't figure out whether they are a boy or a girl! YUCK! They were also the first to implement the bathroom thing. I make sure to use the bathroom before I leave home because who knows who will walk in on you wherever you shop! Mom was in the restroom and a guy walked in on her. This was at Wal-mart. She left quickly and told management and they kicked him out of the store (I believe that is how it went down). Scary. Any pervert can say they are transgender to get their kicks.

We were warm enough yesterday I was able to walk the dog - not good! The neighbor had just cut his grass and I am allergic to grass. I felt miserable when I got back into the house. I was starting to get a headache when I went on the walk - it went away while on the walk but turned into a migraine when I got back in. I was stuffed up, itchy, my eyes itched and watered - it was awful. I don't think that will be on my list of things to do for awhile!

I hope you figure out your tax thing. You may need to see your banker, (see if they have someone who will help with taxes) they will probably help you figure it out for nothing.

I will talk to you on the other thread sister dear! LOL!

God bless, Kim

I hear you on the "sweet"...and in my case "salty"!

There was an accident a few minutes ago on the highway in front of the office. A lady zipping up the wrong way got hit. The police, fire truck and ambulance are all there now, taking care of things. I do hope nobody was injured. Makes me hurt...just looking! OK...they just put one in the ambulance on the stretcher...it looks like she hit the concrete barrier as I see no other vehicle about. The tow truck is there now, and they are doing clean up and the ambulance left. Poor lady.

I rarely compare prices....but should! I shop mostly Amazon, JC Penney, Target and Wal-Mart for simplicity. I have several new pair of shoes from my last spree two years ago and wear my Brooks every day. They are the best fitting, most comfy ones I've had since my Prophet' ones from way back yonder. I would like one good pair of flip flop type for stepping out to the mail box in....It's hard to find some styles for my fat and short feet. I'm not supposed to go barefoot outside....but I do. What's the word...oh yeah..."non-compliant"....

I'm going to play with my tax thing a bit...I printed the schedule 1 and instructions and hope I can figure it out. I like simple...as I've said countless times.

Oh this weekend we are supposed to see 75! I'm with you...and am very ready for warmer days! The wind was too cold the past few days for it to be fun outside in spite of our sunshine!

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

Still chilly here today. I wish that warm weather you were having would make it here!

Jake was having a fit today - two big dogs across the street! He was outside and saw them playing in their backyard - he went nuts! He's okay with the dogs he knows, but these are new!

I think I need to back down on the Stevia just a bit in my tea, a little sweet! When you cut down on sugar it makes you realize how sweet you were really liking stuff before. I like sweet, not bitter or sour, but I'm liking lots of sweet less and less. LOL!

Love ya

I saw another ad for Care.com. Some of the rates they showed were pretty reasonable.

Whoohoo, I'm glad you don't have to deal with that guy. I also would make sure that that letter is really from the IRS and not some kind of scam to get your personal information. Do not put anything on that form that could give away your personal information - the IRS should have all of that. We got refunds for both the state and the federal - we use Turbo Tax on-line. So far we haven't had any problems. We were paying for quite awhile, but now we are getting refunds, praise the Lord! People like Wade and I, married without kids, don't get all the breaks that people with children get, and we aren't on medicare or social security, so we don't get those breaks either. Five and six more years before we are eligible for either of those things.

I got my tea made this morning and went without my cup of coffee. I haven't had any of the tea yet, but will drink some this afternoon rather than the Izze or the Sobe water. I took a sip of the Sobe with my thyroid pill and it was sooo sweet - and yet it doesn't have any sugar in it! LOL!

Well, I will let you get back to your stuff. Love ya

God bless, Kim

He came back, about 3:30....said he didn't need it after all as the manager at the motel had a small room he'd let him put his things in. I was glad! He offered me $5.00 for my time he wasted, but of course I said oh no, not necessary! I just moved him out and shredded his contract.

I got a refund check from Medicare for a $15.75 over payment...woohoo...mad money! Then I got a long confusing letter from IRS with more hoops to jump through on my return I did in December, sent them $800 and they took the money...now want to know how I came up with my figures? Huh? Duh? I like simple...as in 1-2-3 and A-B-C.

I got my trash out this morning, my car moved, tub in...someone has hit my car and scraped a bit of paint...probably the lady who parks in front of me in the HC spot...and has dents, scrapes and a mix of paint on her car. She parks like 8 inches from mine when she still has two feet to pull up when she's in place. I was unhappy to see the scrape but it could have been worse.

I got money added to my laundry card. I'd had it out on the table for the past 3-4 weeks with that intention and was too sick to care or do any laundry! Looking at my chart on my bulletin board, I see it was a month ago today when I did it last! My how time flies! I finally got that put away yesterday and it took 3 runs at it to finish! Yep...I could use a maid type person.

I'll go make me some lunch while I contemplate uhm...doing laundry?

In all things, I will acknowledge Christ, my Savior and strength of my life.

Phew, I am so glad I don't have a job that deals with the public any more. People used to be nice! Now, anything goes! I hope that you have someone nearby you can call just incase this dude decides not to be nice!

I finally did get my laundry folded and put away. It only took me about a week though. LOL! I had had several headaches in a row and just didn't feel up to it. I did get my hair washed and the dishes in the dishwasher too - even ran it! Woohoo! LOL!

It's hard to say if Spring has sprung here - yep, things are blooming, but it's still quite chilly. I'm hoping since you have warmer weather, Bren, we will too in a day or so. I will be happy for that. I was outside for about 10 minutes yesterday when I started sneezing - time to go back in! I do more sneezing and coughing at night when my allergy stuff is wearing off. My eyes have been itching too - I need to use my drops more often.

Well, not much more than that. Oh, Christian Book Finds is doing a giveaway. It's right there front and center if you go to the site.

God bless, Kim

There is nothing more important in your life than your relationship with Christ.

Something is wrong when focus is, "how sin does not separate us from God," rather than, "how God separates us from sin."

Live today with all you've got for Jesus. Never give in and Never give up.
