Hi Team! I've been AWOL with the holiday craziness and all. Val, I have a Fitbit and I LOVE it!! Not only did it motivate me, I really helped me to see how little I was moving during the day. I just assumed I was close to - if not exceeding 10,000 steps per day - only to find I was very short of that goal. When I got the Fitbit and started really reaching for the 10,000 steps, I reached my goal weight. To answer your question, yes, new 'stuff' does help to motivate me but the Fitbit held me accountable. If I happen to be having a day where I'm sitting more than I'd like, sometimes I march in place in the bathroom to add to the step count (probably looks ridiculous but I don't care).

Enjoy it - it's a valuable tool. Pat

I believe in myself, I am a strong woman. I will reach my goals, I will live my life with integrity and intention. I will set a good example for my daughters and my son. I will be a woman that makes my grand children proud when they look at pictures of me long after I've left this earth.

well like everyone else - i dream and imagine. i remember when i spent a ton of money on a state of the art sewing machine - many years ago. i was going to make my kids' clothes , stuff for the house, etc etc. it sat there for may years in its lovely case - i dusted it and still dreamed but never DID anything much except hem a few pants.
i have stair stepper equipment which has been poo pooed as being a 'bad excercise for the knees - i did do stair stepping classes for 18 yrs - who knew i was making my hip/knees suffer..
i have a tread mill and use it - not as much as i should -
so when i feel 'inspired' by an ab twister informercial - i just sit still and let it pass. i have decided that using my own body weight, walking, and stretching are all for free and all i need provided i DO IT.

Due to a full hip replacement surgery, only exercise I can do is in a swimming pool, so I do not look at anything else. Usually I do one hour a day. M, W and F walk on the pool for an hour, and T, Th and S I will do an aquaerobics routine.
Best regards and a very merry xmas for you and your loved ones, Rainbowfalls

Having received the fitbit this morning I am feeling new motivation. My question for you is does new exercise products (equipment, dvd's, clothes...) help to motivate you?
