I allow myself to indulge for special occasions. Monday night, for example, we ate out at Cotton Patch to celebrate our daughter's high school diploma. I chose fare that wasn't terribly bad for me, but I had a baked potato this time instead of the broccoli. I also finished off Stephanie's chicken fried steak (about five or six bites).
On Memorial Day weekend, we had a party at a friend's house. I ate what they were grilling, had some chips and dips and some of the dessert that was brought. It took me the whole week to work off the effects of that weekend, but that's what I planned for. There are no "accidents" when it comes to my eating. I eat what I allow myself to eat, and there are simply times that I will allow myself to indulge. Not too often, though, as I want to stay on track and keep losing weight.

sometimes it all becomes JUST TOO MUCH REALLY!!
I have had days where i did not track - was not all that busy - ate whatever i wanted (granted not horribly) and the scale smiled upon me.
then i have had weeks of tracking, being exact, drinking water, exercising, being extremely cautious and aware - giving up stuff when eating out - AND GAINED WEIGHT.
it becomes a mental tug of war - the counter is cluttered with pieces of paper - water checked off - wt and type of food eaten and for which mean - IT IS A FREAKIN JOB!!

can you tell i am upset!!!???LOL i walked for 'kids help line' last week - not very much - only couple of miles - BUT I GAINED WEIGHT - the loss i had was wiped out -
there is no rhyme or reason - it just is not logical -

i am taking a break right now - trying to clear the clutter and for me - tracking and noting and thinking etc is clutter- it clutters my mind and i am so tired of it.

it is just food - and i eat pretty well - i need a break from it. just three meals a day and couple of snacks - BB

Too often since I reached my goal a year ago, but gained back 10 lbs this Spring.
I indulge under stress. I learned my lesson that I need to have a better control over it.

How often do you indulge?

for me, it's usually when holidays roll around and I have been known to not track properly on the weekends. My bottom line answer is: too often since I keep yo-yoing around my goal weight.

I believe in myself, I am a strong woman. I will reach my goals, I will live my life with integrity and intention. I will set a good example for my daughters and my son. I will be a woman that makes my grand children proud when they look at pictures of me long after I've left this earth.
