I would say yes women are more critical of their own and others. I do my best to not judge others because we never know what that person is dealing with or has had to deal with in life. It was a lesson learned for me after a tragedy.

honestly - i think in this north american culture whether you are male or female - negativity abounds. with men it might not be as catty or sharp -
but if you are in good shape - both men and women will put a 'spin' to it - men might say - stacked, built, etc and women will comment 'not dressed right, who does she think she is ' blah blah.
if you move to europe - men like to pinch your bottom - and women give 'the look'!!
we have to get back to JUST BEING HUMAN BEINGS and civilized to each other. admire each other - faults along with attributes - but the way the younger generation looks at every thing - no chance. sorry to say.

Yes, woman's brain is wired different and is more critical of herself and other woman's body (and not only body). Agree that society and media contribute to this issue a lot.

I definitely think that women are more critical of other women's bodies than men are. Society does not help, when women of all ages see how a woman should "look" on TV, in magazines, and all around us.

Do you think women are more critical of other women's bodies than men are?

Yes, I do. I find it so disturbing when I hear women gossiping about another woman and 'name calling'. I'm sure it's because of jealousy and their own insecurities but I just don't feel at all comfortable listening to women belittling another woman.

As far as men go, I think we women are far too judgmental of our bodies. I know I am - my husband would love me/be attracted to me whether I was 10 pounds heavier, less or just the same. He shakes his head at me when he sees me measuring my morning cereal :-)

I believe in myself, I am a strong woman. I will reach my goals, I will live my life with integrity and intention. I will set a good example for my daughters and my son. I will be a woman that makes my grand children proud when they look at pictures of me long after I've left this earth.
