I've never used one. I'd rather get my rays from the sun (within reason) and use a self-tanner when I need to hide my pasty white Irish skin emoticon

I believe in myself, I am a strong woman. I will reach my goals, I will live my life with integrity and intention. I will set a good example for my daughters and my son. I will be a woman that makes my grand children proud when they look at pictures of me long after I've left this earth.

I have to confess...that question made me laugh. I'm a redhead. I'm covered with freckles. Not only have I never tried to tan naturally, I certainly have never used a tanning bed, nor have I ever been tempted to use one. And, like others have expressed, I'm not convinced that they are safe. It's pretty well established that excessive tanning, even naturally, is bad for our skin. I see a woman several times a week at our 24 Hour Fitness location...I have no idea how old she is, but she looks close to my age (54) and her skin looks like leather. It looks artificially tanned to me. It is not at all attractive.

NEVER - first of all i am very fair --since i was a child i did not like the sun. i think that was a blessing in disguise knowing what we know now.
second - why do people always want to look differently instead of enhancing the attributes they have? it is beyond me.
third - pay for something that you can do for free - silly and heathwise - dangerous.

yet - people persist - many of them are the makers of their own fates.
people in my family who were laborers outdoors for their jobs could not help the exposure to the sun - a few of them developed melanoma - i think tanning beds should be banned. the same as i think cigarettes should be!!

I don't although I have been out in the real sun lately. Years ago I used one for a base before going in vacation - there is a lot of bad press about them these days that would make me think twice before I did that again.
