I have lost another pound. Loosing weight gives me incentive to stay on track with transitioning to Blood Type Diet. I have read that 80% of compliance can give 100% of results. On the diet I'm doing, there are some major avoid foods for my blood type. I am very determined to avoid them. I still have some foods around that are on the minor avoids. When I get those finished, I will feel more comfortable with doing some minor avoids if I'm eating out and have limited choices.
This time around, it feels like I have more foods that are ok than the last time I did the diet.
Over all, I'm happy with where my weight is going.

Forever, I've had trouble with heartburn from a hiatal hernia. Having extra weight around my waist makes it worse. If I lean over after eating, it's all over. I have used Gaviscon Extra Strength which helps. I've never liked the idea that is has aluminum in it. I happened to run across a little clipping re heartburn. I've put the clipping on the bottle on the Gaviscon Extra Strength. Most days, that's enough. The clipping is from my husband's Men's Health, Nov. 2010; article by Ben Court.
The clipping says:
"Question:Is there a quick trick for easing heartburn when I'm out to eat? " name of person asking question.
Answer: "Yes, and it comes free with every meal. "A 4-ounce glass of water at the onset of heartburn helps by diluting acid in your esophagus and flushing it back into your stomach," says David Peura, M.D., a professor of gastroenterology at the University of Virginia Health System. If you're still feeling the burn after you drain your water glass, chew a piece of gum or suck on a lozenge; either one will stimulate the production of saliva, your body's natural acid buffer. But check the flavor first: Peppermint and spearmint oils can relax your esophageal muscles and actually make it easier for acid to creep upward. o keep your mitts off the mints at the register, too."

Way to go. emoticon

I had an "interesting" weekend re food. I was attending a three day conference and camped in our van. I took some of the meals at the dining area. Breakfast was a major issue the last day. The main egg dish had a lot of "avoid" ingredients but I was desperate. However, it was so dry, I couldn't eat it. I ended up doing just pineapple there and a protein bar back at the van. Glad I wasn't doing any hiking those days.

On a good note, I'm down another pound.

Yesterday was a decent day. Eating under control. No coffee ( I only drink decaf) because it's to be avoided on the plan. Stomach/heartburn not as bad as it has been. And I'm down a pound!
Feel encouraged as I begin my day.

Today hubby and I are going to do the household stuff we normally would have done yesterday, except we were out at International Table Top Game Day running demonstrations of games. It was fun, but I am wishing I had one more day to myself.

Having a hard time getting onto the plan. Having a hard time in general these past few days. I'm allowed rice, but had it for breakfast, lunch and dinner yesterday. WAY too much carbs for me and I felt uncomfortable last night.
New day today so we'll see how it goes.

I seem to have broken the sleepy stuff last night. I got home from work, did some stuff in the house, had dinner then spent the evening on my computer talking to a friend of mine up north. We try to talk at least once a week.

It was warm last night in the house...78...so I put the air conditioner on to get the humidity out and cool it down a little. How odd that I am doing that in April!

If the sleepiness keeps up, please get it checked out. There can be a lot of reasons. In the short run, try some jumping jacks or other aerobic moves. I have a mini trampoline, a rebounder, and jumping on it does help to make me more alert.

I have been sleepy lately. I've been falling asleep on the couch at about 8pm two nights in a row. This is so not like me.

Tonight if I feel sleepy I may get up and do something in the spare room. Maybe try to find a box to unpack or something. Most of it is sewing stuff, so maybe I should plan on organizing that.

Wake up call for me. Hubby lost 30 lbs. I am happy he did it. All he did was stop drinking so much soda. He could put away a 2 liter a day, or more. So how is this a wake up call? We both weighed in on Saturday. We are EXACTLY the same weight! He's 6'3". I'm 5'9". it doesn't look the same on me as it does on him.

I know I shouldn't compare myself to anyone else. I'm trying to figure out how to use my naturally competitive nature to my advantage here!

Let me know how it goes. I still have some "non-compliant" food on hand so not totally on the Blood Type Diet but I have been loosing some weight. The weight loss has been slow which is fine with me but steady. I made it under 150 for the first time this past week.
