I'm with you Lilybelle - I use the frozen stuff too. I tried kale for the first time last week and found out I really liked it. Nice, high calcium numbers!

SJHARRIS -- good idea! Eradicate those pounds, don't just 'lose' them. emoticon

I try to make a green smoothie once a day and have decided the best way for me to use more 'greens' and fruits is to buy frozen packages and portion out what I want when I want it. Works better for me than fiddling with fresh fruits and greens.

Like many of us, I have lost weight in the past, but never kept the weight off long term. This time, I am giving away my clothes as soon as they are too big - keeping them would be sabotaging my efforts and belief that this weight is gone forever!

Brushing teeth is a great tip...and another simple idea is to drink a glass of water! Even if we don't stop our senseless eating, we still have sparkling teeth, and stay hydrated!

Thanks for the ideas, Lilybelle. One I have been trying lately is to brush my teeth right after a meal so I won't snack anymore. I started it at Christmas and it helped but wasn't always successful in one sense since I started picking at a cookie tray. It DID work though in the long run because my 6 year old great-niece knew I had brushed my teeth to stop snacking and she was quick to point it out when I picked up another treat! AJ

Another simple step I try to take has to do with choosing a parking spot in parking lots. The temptation is to get as close to the front door of the store as possible, but the smarter choice is to park as far away from the front door as I can. I actually do make the smarter choice, occasionally.

Little chicks...Mother Hen Lilybelle here again. .. What can you achieve for YOURSELF in the next 10 days, as we finish out our 4th year with SparkPeople?

Setting New Year's resolutions (or REVOLUTIONS) as two of my grand kids (ages 6 & 10), called our list, we came up with the idea of only asking for water to drink when we eat out...not soda or pop. Last night I was eating dinner with a friend at a local favorite restaurant, and felt some sense or accomplishment when I heard myself saying, 'water, please', and I didn't spend even one minute thinking how great a diet soda would taste. Oh, I almost felt 'smug', knowing that I was doing something for myself, finally, as well as honoring our 'revolutions'. The journey of a Thousand miles begins with a single step"' or so they say! I believe them!!!

How about if we all share our 'single steps' here?. I'll be ordering water with meals...a small, but effective step, at least for me. For the next 10 days at least.

What about you?
