Thanks for the tip, Lilybelle! I've tried the 2 cup drinking also and I think it is helping. I'm down a couple of pounds after a week-long plateau anyway! My eye is always caught by those magazines too. They always promise mega weight loss for minimal effort and I admit to too often being sucked in. Lately though, since I've been giving SparkPeople an honest effort, I find it easier to resist. I think I am FINALLY learning that weight loss means consistent life style changes over the long haul, not a "quick fix".

I'm a sucker for those magazines located near the check-out place at most grocery stores! Lately it has been my goal to avoid even looking at the covers of magazines like Woman's world...but a few days ago, one caught my eye that I decided to buy. The article that interested me most encourages us to drink 2 cups of water BEFORE every meal AND snack. Having done this for only 3 or 4 days, I'm pleased to find that I've lost 2 pounds, and now think there might really be something to this idea. emoticon

Do it, NOW!

Thanks for starting this topic...I have made it a 'sticky topic' so it will stay on the board, and hope that other classmates will post. The old saying, "many hands make the work
Light" can also be revised to say "many posts make the commitment strong".

We are now about 8 weeks away from our class 'reunion', and losing one pound per week is still do-able for me. Some of you can and will do much better than that, and some of you are at goal now! For me, I'll be content to poke along, continue to train myself to drink more water before every meal AND snack; look for ways to get in more exercise without hating every minute of it; and really try hard (harder?) to turn a blind eye toward sweets.

Here's to reaching our goals!

Do it, NOW!

Hi All! Just checking in concerning Lilybelle's 3-month challenge to re-start/re-charge our weight loss efforts prior to our 4-year anniversary. For myself, I'm keeping up the tracking and exercise but not doing so well on the weight loss. I'm going to try switching my exercise from walking (which was lovely in October but getting a bit chilly these days) to my elliptical and hope that the change will boost my metabolism and loosen up a couple of pounds! Hope you are all doing well in your endeavors.
