Buying cheap can be expensive! Duracell batteries are pretty good. I see my note from 2015. I still love my Zip. It's easy to change batteries. If you wear the FitBit on your arm, it counts whenever you move your arm, so I prefer the Zip which I keep in my bra.

Oh yes, definitely had problems. But it was with dollar store batteries, lost a couple of days due to that, very discouraging. Last replacement was with a Duracell, so far so good!

My daughter sent me her Flex, she got the Flex2. I do not recommend it! So irritating and frustrating to NOT be able to see how many steps I've taken during a walk. I dual tracked it with 1. my Zip, and then 2. an Ozeri manual (so extremely accurate). The Flex was low by 2000 steps on a 5000 step walk.

I hope you are able to resolve this, it's worth it.

Never had a problem with battery life. In fact, I was surprised on just how long mine seems to last!

I think the problem is that the battery is easily jostled out of place and when that happens I have to remove the cover and play with it a little bit. I'll try to be more careful with it, but if this continues to be a problem I may look into a different product. Thanks for the replies, everyone!

My husband's Zip is having a problem now. First battery only lasted about 4 months. Replaced it and only got about two weeks. Working with costumer service now, but no answer yet.

I've been using a Zip for several years. The battery usually lasts 4-6 months. I buy two at a time at Walgreens so I have a ready replacement. I get a warning about the battery getting low in plenty of time to insert a new one. To me, the short life of the battery does not seem like a problem. I love the Zip otherwise.

I buy Duracells.

a lot of people have that issue with the battery not living a long life.

confact fitbit's customer service and a lot of time they have suggestions and might even replace your unit for you

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much A true friend reaches for your hand but touches your hea

Has anyone else experienced poor battery life with the fitbit zip? The battery that came with it last for a really long time, longer than the 6 months that it's supposed to. I changed the battery a few weeks ago and the level is now at 50%. I've tried all the suggestions I found on the fitbit website (fiddling with the little metal piece inside the battery compartment etc.) to no avail. Not sure what I should do. Keep replacing the battery? Just get a new zip? Or should I just switch to the flex? Although I've read that the fitbit flex doesn't hold a charge for more than a couple of days.
