An electric grill, no, a charcoal bbq, yes, but the yard is going to be pretty restricted too. Thanks for the suggestions. If you,ve got more keep them coming.
Yes we're doing a side return extension on our Victorian terrace and then installing a new kitchen. Our first renovation of this kind ever.

Here's a slow cooker recipe I made for the first time yesterday. Delicious.

Teriyaki Chicken Thighs

Ingredients

3lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1 garlic clove, minced
3/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 tsp. cornstarch
4 tsp. cold water
2 cups hot cooked brown rice

Directions

Place chicken in a 4 or 5 qt. slow cooker. In a small bowl, mix sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger and pepper; pour over chicken. Cook, covered, on low 4-5 hours or until chicken is tender.
Remove chicken to a serving platter; keep warm. Transfer cooking juices to a saucepan; skim fat. Bring cooking juices to a boil. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and cold water until smooth; stir into cooking juices. Return to a boil; cook and stir 1-2 minutes or until thickened. Serve with chicken and rice.

Number of Servings: 8

Do you have a grill. We use our grill in the summer a lot. Hubby will even get up and prepare breakfast on the grill. It save us a lot of oooking heat in the house.

Keep on track

You said the magic word "slow cooker". I LOVE LOVE LOVE my crockpot. Everyone use it doing the Winter. I use it year round.

And someone mentioned Subway. Love their turkey on wheat with tomato lettuce, no dressing.

You can do it !!!!

I was without a kitchen for 5 weeks in 2013 while the kitchen was being renovated. We didn't eat out, eat take out, or use convenience foods at all, I cooked every day. I had the single portable burner, an electric skillet, and a microwave. I still had my fridge sitting in the dining room. I set up one of those portable tables I use for extra guests at Christmas and did all my prep on that, and I washed dishes in the utility sink. The hardest part was making sure that appliances on the same electrical circuit weren't on at the same time. It can be done, it takes more than the usual planning.

Are you having a new kitchen put in? If so, when it's done you'll look back and it will all be worth the hassle.

for breakfast 1 slice of bread (preferable toasted) 1/2 avocado mashed and 1 soft egg. Spread avocado on bread and place either poached or lightly fried (spray oil) egg on top. Enjoy.

cold cereal and milk always a good choice

yogurt and fruit a good choice

order salads with dressing on the side. Dip your salad in the dressing. You won't consume a lot of dressing.

If you have a subway near by...........there salads are great. Also their veggie sandwiches and always good.

Okay I'll be loosing my kitchen this summer. And I want to stay on track with the nutrition. This is going to be a challenge. I will have a microwave slow cooker and hob element and mini fridge. Buckets or bathroom sink for washing up.

Eating out and convenience meals are going to be pretty common for us me thinks.

Would love your ideas. Help!
