I love shoebox kitchens and teeny kitchens! It's always awesome to see the amazing things people manage to make in them!

I have the smallest galley kitchen ever but it's convenient. I just turn around and grab what I need and it's just me so how big does it have to be?

I'll try and place a picture on my page this weekend.

I was thinking about painting it sage and mustard but I'm lazy and as my Godson told me the other day "not a good painter". Kids, got to love them.

I wish! I live in an apartment with a shoebox of a kitchen.

Yeah, that's a much more extensive job than I had to do! We just had to lay new subflooring over the old vinyl. Our old cabinets and countertops went to some friends who were needed temporary cabinetry until they can afford to actually remodel the kitchen in the basement until of their triplex--they had a friend who needed someplace to crash and was only happy to have ANY flat surface and storage in the kitchen!

I had to have my entire kitchen removed. They had to take up the old tile floor that was so badly installed in 1988. I have a photo of Clyde removing about a thousand screws one at a time. It was the horror of replacing that floor that kept me from doing a remodel as long as I did. Fortunately, by the time I bit the bullet, new tiles were available. I love my wood look porcelain floor! The old granite is still lying in the back yard waiting for me to bust it up for landscape pavers. The old cabinets were dismantled and tossed. The materials that went into 60s kitchens just weren't meant to last 40 years.

I'm grateful that I had removed the asbestos tiles from the kitchen in 1985 and from the family room in 2001, back before you had to call in the moonsuits. I just zipped them up and hauled them to the dump.

Nell, we did the remodel thing a couple years ago, and we were lucky to have an awesome contractor who worked around us beautifully. He pulled the old sink and countertop carefully as one piece and set it back in for us to use until they were ready for the new countertops, and he worked around the stove. We were only without usability for about 3 days.

I love my purple kitchen!

Mainly that I am accustomed to it. It isn't that large, but it is square and everything is reasonably accessible.

I just put one of the finished kitchen photos up. I was looking through all the photos of those 6 weeks and I am SO glad it's done! Cooking in the laundry room for the duration is something I have put out of my mind.

I had my kitchen renovated this last summer and had lots of blog photos of the process. We can only post photos on blogs, though, not here on the threads.

I'm always fascinated by pictures of kitchens, so I thought it would be fun to put photos of our kitchens up so everyone can get a better idea of where we are doing all this wonderful cooking. I just put mine up. Anyone else?
