I don't have internet at home so I did 10 minutes of an aerobics dvd instead of the kickboxing video yesterday. Today I have dance class for my cardio and I'll do the video when I get home (I watched and wrote down the exercises for when I get there)

Is it ok to join even though it is already May 4th? I haven't had a chance to read my emails till now and this Bootcamp sounds like fun. I also need to lose the few pounds I gained on vacation and this would provide just the motivation to get back on the exercise wagon.

hey all sorry i am gonna be out of commission a couple days. last night we were gettting the hubbys bike towed the rest of the way home and was almost home and o got this pain in my upper chest area. i figured it would go away but got worse after bringing the stuff in from the car. the pain i was feeling got worse and went into my heart. it felt like a good sized dagged was slicing at my poor heart and my upper abdomen was in alot of pain too.i spent most of the night in the emergency room and got home at 2am. the doctor released me to go home and sleep in my own bed. i am sorry about this but will pick it up wednesday once i get the doctors ok again. they are not sure if it is my stomach or gall bladder.

KJ, I really like your idea of the group doing the WW thing together. I may try that. I've been going to the actual meetings and it is good, but I think this site and a few friends may do the same thing.
My hope with the bootcamp is that it will kick my system into losing more weight. I'm following the eating plan and workout each day already, but the scale is only moving 1/2 pound a week. This is totally discouraging to me.

emoticon I think that is great. I also have been having an awesome day. I got most of my minutes in today by 2 pm. I have day 2's workout scheduled for 7 pm, but I think we are going to the ice cream store to order Ben's graduation cake, not for ice cream. We'll probably walk. It is only 4 1/2 blocks away. Then when we get done with that I'll come back and do that workout. I'll have to get creative with those Pilates resistance bands I have since they want us to put the handle around our foot and the things I have don't have handles. I think I'll tie one end to my foot and see how that works.

Just wanted to let you know to not worry about the posting thing. Just so glad you are doing this. Spark People is such an amazing place and I would hate for you to have a negative perspective because of people getting irritated. You have had some awesome progress. You should be so proud. You are also so fortunate to have a group to go through this with you. Great idea about the pot. I would want to be the winner every month. Good luck to you!

Hi everyone! I missed yesterday, not because I forgot but because I got sunburned by being careless on Saturday and could not imagine doing anything but lathering aloe on my self.

I was going to start a new post for motivation, but I quickly realized how annoying it was to keep receiving emails on new posts -- some people just don't follow directions!

No excuses, I am going to do day 1 and 2 today. The rest of the week i will concentrate on keeping up with the challenge and completing my required cardio.

Sure, that puts me out of the prize, but i really want to complete this challenge and I am holding myself accountable by posting this today.

Thank you for reading this and I appreciate your support!

Hi Everyone !!!!
I missed yesterdays boot camp video challenge so I did it today along with day 2. I LOVE the Day 1 video !! I have put it in my favorites and I am going to aim at doing it everyday. By the end of ten 10 minutes, I had sweat rolling down my back. Awesome !!
I also went walking and hiking for an hour today. I might just go for another 2.5 mile walk..
I am having an apple with peanut butter right now and I am making a smoothie later, so I have had my servings of fruit today. emoticon

I had the same problem w/my band. For the second leg, I just looped it around my ankle and that helped. I felt like I should do the video over, though...

Just a quibble, is anyone else having a problem seeing her feet? The saprkpeople.com logo is right over Coach Nicole's feet, so I'm not always able to see clearly. (That and my natural lack of co-ordination and the fact that I don't wear my glasses while I exercise probably don't help me much)

Still, I made it through yesterday and today. Roll on Day 3!

replying to Sandie4Hlth:
I had a bit of trouble with my resistance band, as others did. The handles on mine are too rigid to allow either fitting and staying on my shoe or fitting one handle inside another to form a loop. I ended up taking one of the handles off and tying the band around my shoe. It worked okay until I got to the hamstring exercise, when it just fell off and would not stay on. I think I am going to have to get a resistance band with a flexible handle like Coach Nicole has.

Okay, I admit it, I messed up. I am new to this whole posting game, so I posted to one of the new topics and apparently this is making a few people upset. So I am now going to repost it here.

I am weighing in tonight. I do it every Monday night. There are a group of us (10), all my family members, who started in August 2008 getting together and basically following a Weight Watchers plan. We pay $1 a week unless we have a gain, then we pay $2. Then, the last Monday of the month the biggest loser for the month wins the pot! It is actually pretty good incentive for all of us since we are all usually broke! So far I have lost a total of 37 pounds, but as a group we have lost a total of 143.5 pounds. I am hoping that this bootcamp will help me win the pot this month!

Hi there - Anybody know where to find the name of the workout for today to track it? I did it, but I can't find it under the exercises. Thanks!

Hi everyone!
I did both Day 1 and Day 2 videos today, a 20-minute strength conditioning routine, and for cardio 30 minutes of low impact aerobics at home.

For today's challenge, I ate my three servings of fruit already. I am looking forward to Day 3!

I have been doing them in the afternoon. Liked them both, just I guess I will have to purchase the other kind of resistance band, mine do not have handles and so it made it hard to do, but I did manage. I actually worked up a good perspiration on both, so I call it a win!

I actually waited until the late afternoon to do yesterday's video. The reason: I biked 30 miles in the morning and early afternoon and then came home and had to cut the lawn! Did the video while dinner was cooking!

Feeling pretty good today..Will do the video again this evening after a 30 minute walk in the park and 30 minutes at the gym on the elliptical! Then stretch, stretch, stretch!

Day 2 video done, not too bad. Then I jumped on the treadmill and turned on last week's The Biggest Loser and lost track of time. I did 40 minutes on the treadmill, 2 miles. Not a bad start to this challenge. I'm eating a pancake with raspberries for breakfast, will have a veggie with lunch and one with dinner so I know it will be easy to get the challenge part down today.

Good luck to all of you. Stay focused and let's do this thing!

I had a small victory yesterday.

I made the workout video full screen on my computer, so I couldn't see the time. And, even though I REALLY wanted to, I didn't once check how much time was left!

I am looking for a suggestion, though. My computer is in a very cramped, furniture filled room and there is no way to move my computer elsewhere. Much of the furniture is immovable, too (small door, big furniture--the doorframe has to be removed to move the furniture). Does anyone else have this problem? How do you do your workouts in a tiny, tiny room?

Do a little good while you're doing your search. www.goodsearch.com

I have to do all the workouts in the evenings. Yesterday's was more intense than I expected and could barely catch my breath at the end. It was either because of the 2 hours of yard work the day before or because I'm getting old, but I was wiped out! Hopefully it's because of the yard work! lol But I loved how I felt afterwards and can't wait for day 2 tonight!

In re today's bonus challenge: to paraphrase Humpty Dumpty, "I eat three fruits before I eat breakfast!" I drink eight ounces of low-sodium vegetable drink and the same of Vitamin C- and D-enhanced orange juice before my morning workouts. During the workout I eat a banana or some raisins. After that I eat breakfast, usually a small bowl of cereal with milk.

In case someone didn't catch the Humpty Dumpty reference, read the two "Alice in Wonderland" books by Lewis Carroll. In one of them Humpty makes this claim: "I make it a point to believe in six impossible things each day."

Today's workout wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. I'm sure I will feel it tomorrow though, I usually do. I'm off to the treadmill for 30 minutes and then I'll eat my fruits and veggies and be done with today.

I just signed up for bootcamp this morning. I plan to do yesterday's and today's video workouts after work!

I weighed in this morning before my walk and... I've lost four (4) pounds since April 24th!
Great way to start bootcamp!

Now, I've got to find my resistance band and get moving!

Good luck and great success to all!

I did it -- the kickbox cardio video really WAS fun, as many of you had said!! And I did today's video even though I realized I have the wrong kind of bands. That's usually my signal to cop-out & not do the exercise at all ... but I did it without bands & today I'll go get the kind with handles!

Let's GO Spark Team, we're on a roll of something great!!

Hi all! New here - joined the bootcamp challenge last week, but went out of town with the hubby (our first weekend away since having kids - 5 yrs) so jumped in and did the videos from yesterday and today - also did measurements and compared them to where I was at the end of March - wow, April was NOT good to me! Anyway, that's why I'm here! Also, going to do stroller class tonight...

Keep going everyone! We can do this!

Good morning. Missed yesterday's workout because I assumed I would get an e-mail telling me to do it! Talk about spoiled!
Anyway, I'm going to find a resistance band this afternoon and pick up with today's workout. Cardio is never a problem, since I love to walk.
Good luck to everyone.
