I did hear some drawbacks to the body bug-like it tracks your calories expended by movement so it's less accurate if you're taking a spin class for example. I think the concept is very cool though and since I don't do spin class maybe a good one to try out in a few years.

I just found out my mom has 3 HRMs (don't ask) and is willing to give me one!! So I might start there and tell you guys how it goes. I think it's worth the free factor to start there :)

Thanks for the input!

I would love a HRM...maybe next year? Like you said they are spendy..I have heard rave reviews about the body bug...some local gyms use them...not sure how it works but they track your info at the gym from them? (not that it matters to me, as I don't go the gym... emoticon ) But I thought it sounded cool...!

I dont have one but I DREAM of one!! I have been trying to get one since january. They can be pretty expensive though. I have heard that the POLAR ones are good. On Amazon they have all kinds for cheaper and the people that buy them put in a review. I would look for one that will automatically track your work out by the push of a button. Some wont do that and without that I think it is pointless. Also water resistant incase you go swimming. You need to know how much your burn while doing that!

I this was helpful =) I dont know to much because I dont have one yet.

Oh yeah, the Body bug - from biggest loser. People are sweating by those now. It is about 199 and it comes with all this high tec wifi stuff. My mom has one. She just sits next to the computer and it automatically reads her bug and tells her how many calories she has burned since the last update. Pretty awesome, it also has food tracking software.

So I've heard a heart rate monitor with calorie counter is a good thing because it's more accurate in that it bases calories burned off of YOUR heart rate and not a machine estimate.

Does anyone have one or would anyone recommend a good one?
