hi all, great ideas, I go to the library once a week and pick out a couple of tapes or dvds and check them out to keep things interesting. The ones I got this week are Walk Away the Pounds for Abs, by Leslie Sansone. For another boost I ride my bike to the library which is about a mile away. Keep up the good work. Sue emoticon

Im a member of netflix. They have like 60 something pages of workout videos on there and shipping only takes one day! Plus its cheap... they have plans as low as 3.99 (thats one movie at a time) I think we pay around 10 dollars a month to get 3 movies at a time. Thats cheaper than renting 3 movies at the video store and if we watch our movies and send them right back we can easily get 6 movies a week.

Also they have instant movies on there website, alot of exercersie videos are on there and you can watch them right away. If you have a roku box (99.99) which we have, or a PS3 (i think thats the system that does netflix) you can watch them instantly from your TV.

Its awesome and they have lots to choose from so you never get bored.

There are some great exercise routines that you can get right here on SparkPeople. Even if you don't have a computer to watch the video on when you workout, you can print out the instructions for the workout and add your own music. Free is free and they do work you out.

Hey all! For those who live in/around Houston we have Discovery Green.
Wednesday 7-8pm Zumba
Saturday 9:30 - 10:30am Yoga
Tuesday 7-8pm Yoga
Admission is FREE!

Also, can I promote other teams here?, there's a netflix team. If you subscribe to netflix at any level you can stream and unlimited number of movies to your computer or TV (if you have the right equip) including workout videos. Some are new, and some are old and quite hilarious. Even if you don't workout laughing burns calories.

Hi! I am not sure where you live, but in cities that have Lululemon stores (sell yoga clothing), they offer free 75 minute yoga classes on Sunday mornings! It is a different type of yoga each week. All skill levels are welcome.
There are also a lot of yoga places in my city that offer the first week free and other discounts. Call around!

My College has a lot of free programs for students and some offered at a discount. Our gym is free, and we're going to have 3$ Zumba classes offered beginning in September!

Our church has aerobics every Tuesday and Thursday and a workout room. Anyone can use it. I've been dong the aerobics about a month. I purchased a few exercise DVD's after working out at church. They were $13 and now I can do them whenever I want at home.

That is really great! I just joined a gym. I've been working out at home alone for the most part. I was doing a boot camp fitness class, but the cost was getting a little too high. I'm a little self-conscious at the gym still, but also looking forward to trying some classes I've heard about. Hopefully, I'll meet some people, too.

Wonderful free stuff all over if you take time to search for it. Most of the time, you find this kind of stuff from friends who have already found it! YMCA, senior citizens, chamber of commerce, department of recreation, it is there if you search. Since I have just retired, i have more time for good stuff like this!

In the small town where I live we have free yoga lessons at the local senior center. Another place for me is at the mobile home park where I live has free water aerobics, water aquasize and water volleyball. One church in town even has a gym that allows you to walk even if you do not go to that church.

A church close to me offers a free exercise hour in the mornings for elderly (?) ladies. I was invited by someone else who goes (not a church member). I dropped my "lonely" gym membership ($30 monthly), and started going 6 months ago. I really enjoy this "chair areobics", that include stretch bands, hand weights, and walking. Plus lots of new friends! 5 days a week!
