I changed the batteries, that helped some I try to place the scale in the same place on the floor each tine and sta as still as possible in as close to the same place as I can. If I was a woman I could blame it on the time of the month, oh well

My scale is a little touchy about where I place it on the floor, slight variations in how flat the floor is. Or if I lean a little forward or backward while weighing, but not 3 pounds, only 1/2 a pound at most.

ok thanks. I am more curious than concerned. But when I gain 3 pounds in a day it makes me wonder if the scale is goofed up

I weight myself in the morning after waking and using the bathroom. Once a day is more than enough. Fluctuations can drive one crazy.

Across the day various things happen. Your stomach fills with food an liquids, your bladder fills. If you are active your muscles change due to activity. For example if you have a fancy scale that measures body fat percentage (I have one) it drives a small electric current through you, some of that current goes through lean parts (muscles) and some goes through body fat. Muscles transmit electricity easier than fat, and there is a mathematical model using your sex, height, and it has your weight and electrical resistance to calculate (estimate) your body fat percentage.

But later in the day, when you've been active your muscles have been used more and have less electrical resistance. So later in the day it will give you a different body fat percentage (lower I think). Yet another reason for me to weigh myself once a day, and I do it first thing in the morning.

Hi Mike, I try to weigh about the same time each day. Weight does fluctuate through out the day though.

Hi, My scale is driving me nut. I will weigh in the morning around six, Then each time I get up till about 11. I get up late. and sometimes over a few hours it will go up or down one or two pounds. Today It went down about a pound an hour. I changed the batteries but that wasn't it. I will some times c gain 2-3 pound a day. any ideas, how do you know what weight is right thanks
