I love it and have it almost daily, raw. It's one of the few greens I really love. Cooking it seems like a waste, but I do like sauteeing it with a smidge of olive oil and lots of garlic. Hmm...I think I"ll have that with my dinner........

Spinach is my weight loss staple. I use it raw under my dinner to make my plate look bigger (and very much goes well with fish on top, or turkey patties, or just about anything) and as a side. I add it to eggs in the morning, add it to sandwiches to make them fuller, and make it cooked in a variety of ways (including the aforementioned lemon and salt preparation).

Frankly, greens are such a no-calorie add, they make dieting easier. Sure, their flavor is generally bland, but they fill and take other flavors well.

And, here's my other secret -- something to add to anything really. Instead of mayonnaise I use a mash of 1tsp dijon mustard and 1/4 avocado. You can add some lemon juice and/or vinegar to thin it for a salad dressing, mix it in with chicken to make a yummy chicken salad, spread it on toast in the morning with your egg whites, top turkey burgers with it, and yes... add it to spinach salad to spruce it up. It's relatively low cal, very high in flavor, and my new favorite condiment.

FYI -- that mix will be about the same calories as 1tbl of mayo (1/4 avocado is about 80 calories, 1tbl mayo is about 95) -- but it's way healthier and goes a longer way in making food interesting.

I love it in salads or dip...but I just can't get it down cooked, no matter what it's cooked with or in.

Yes; definitely! I love spinach any way you bring it. I even use it in place of lettuce on sandwiches and the like. Cook it, have it raw, bring it on any way possible!

I love it fresh. Someone I use to work with had me try it cooked in vinegar. I was able to eat it that way. Otherwise only fresh.

Initial Goals:
1. Get back into my previous weight loss jeans.

2. Meet my fiber requirements 5 days a week.

Now that I am finally exercising for the first time in 23 years I have decided to set these weekly exercise goals.

1. Walk or go to the gym 3 - 4 days a week.
2. Strength training 2 - 3 times a week

LOVE IT! Spinach salads, spinach on pizza or in spaghetti sauce, creamed spinach, spinach and melted cheddar cheese on a tortilla, fresh spinach on a sandwich, whatever. My favorite Thai dish has spinach. I'll often order it with no rice, and extra spinach. I keep a bag of spinach on hand in the freezer.

as far as canned...YUCK. That's just nasty!

I like spinach. When we were kids my Mom would top it with cheese sauce and sliced hard boiled eggs. I am sure that the cheese sauce was to get us to eat it but as an adult I like it without the sauce.

My most recent use is to saute it into scrambled eggs and just a bit of feta cheese.

Try the frozen spinach. It is much better than the canned if you cannot get fresh.

I like it raw or cooked, but find tinned spinach to be a bit too salty (and it tastes like the tin sometimes). That said, if tinned is all that's available, it'll do.

I love it, fresh with salads, steamed with salt and lemon, diced super small and added to italian dishes, yummy.

I may not be there yet but I'm closer than I was yesterday.

I got tired of starting over and working back to where I was, so I have stopped giving up!
