I did actually make the 150 calorie a portion Tiramisu that was mentioned in the show and actually really liked it. I also tried out the Skinny Fish & chips (minus the tartare sauce, because to be honest i just couldn't be bothered!) I have to say it was really tasty, and would deffnitly make it again.

I found it interesting as somebody who really enjoys cooking and trying new things. It also got me thinking about trying out some of my own recipes, or perhaps modifying some of the ones i already cook. thinking about the ingredients and how i could substitute them to make them healthier.

All in all, it was a great show, although i do agree with the concerns that some other people have aired that the people did seem to be loosing weight quite quickly. It's a shame the show was over so quick though.

Although I agree that perhaps it seems obvious to MOST people that low fat must mean the taste comes from other places, you will get people who won't recognise this, so I think that the fact they highlighted this was a really good idea.

I did enjoy the series, but I prefer the presenter on supersize vs superskinny :)

I watched diets that time forgot last week. That was rather good and had 3 men and 6 women. although one man dropped out. It was good because it emphasised self discipline and health rather than fad diets.
Was my big fat diet show the one with a bunch of fairly slim women trying to fit into the dresses? I wasn't very impressed with that because it seemed to me that what they were doing was not sustainable. I liked the idea of packaging everything in 100cal packs though. But when they ranked foods they only looked at calories, they said that the yogurt with fruit and something was less healthy than some Mac Donald's thing, i can't quite remember. But only because of the calories. what about vitamins and fibre and how much it fills you up, etc.
Note: I say this having seen only one or two episodes and didn't watch it again because of the above. maybe I missed something.

I hope people don't view this as a sexist comment but all the diet shows I have watched on British telly seem to feature just women and this show is no exception. I've learned a lot from this show but it would have been better for me (imho) if they had featured at least one male. It's as if TV producer types don't realise that us men have weight issues that we generally don't like to discuss as freely and openly as we should and shows like this miss the opportunity to encourage us fat fellas to do something about it. At least the American show 'The Biggest Loser' features people of all ages, sexes, colours, shapes and sizes. I just wish British telly would follow suit.

To Daveshadow: You can watch it on 40D online. The pre-roll adverts are much shorter than the standard ads so should be better!

Hi everyone!

I must admit I enjoyed the first episode best!

Everything seemed to make sense. Ever since then I have been following the 1200 calorie as a kick start to my weight loss. It's also something you do when you first join a Rosemary Conley class so I've done it before. I lost 4lbs in the first week but so far nothing else. I only have another 4 days to go before I'm back to eating between 1300 - 1700 calories a day (which is what SP recommended).

I've also been recording everythign I eat which has really made me think about food choices and eating healther. I have never felt this good! Feeling this good is addictive.

Have a beautiful day. Hugs x

Went to the gym and forgot to record it. I did see the weigh in during my 20 mins on treadmill, but with no headphones could not hear what they were saying!

I agree about the way they talk and the "padding" of the programme. I am going to record it tonight and then fast forward those bits!

I like it but they do come across as if we're all stupid. Especially the stuff about the packaging! I very rarely buy low fat stuff because I know if the fat is gone then something must be added to it!!

Would have loved to see it on BBC1 or BBC2 and then there wouldn't be a 30 minute programme extended to an hour by "what's coming up" and "what we've just covered"

Think tonight's the last one isn't it?

Saw most of last night's programme, liked the fish and chips recipe and the idea of using a bag to toss the potatoes in oil.

Also liked the report on the diet foods full of sugars instead of fats and the tiny calorie differences on foods labelled low calorie. I had noticed most of this especially since I have been on this website and I realised that my diets were not working properly mainly because i was eating too many carbs and not enough fats. Weight loss has increased by about 1/2 to 1 pound a week and I do not feel so "deprived"! emoticon

Agree with the point about the programmes focusing on a quick fix diet rather than on long term healthy eating. It will be interesting to see how they end the series and what message they will leave us with.

Agree not a bad programme - but I worry at the amount of weight these women are losing in a week. It doesn't set the right example and it is very much a short term fix which doesn't communicate the benefits of long term moderation. I mean one woman lost 9Ibs in a week!!!
Not sure it is great in that sense.

I watched some of last night's episode, whilst i think it is good making people stop and think i like the way SP makes us think of the breakdown of our food intake to ensure we get the correct balance. I feel so much healthier doing it this way, one of the things I found was that I had cut out too much fat. I did like the omega 3 section of the programme, but i think most people know to look at all the information on packaging now. If we believed the front of packets, then everything has some health benefit!

I will try to watch this- with added interest as the presenter Anna Richardson's father is a retired Anglican pries living in my town. She was home over Christmas and gave an interview to our local newspaper "The Western Gazette" I live in Dorset, by the way but the paper is produced in Somerset

Thanks for the link. I loved the 100 calorie supermarket. Interesting to shop with a calorie budget as well as a cash budget and to compare the big differences in individual progress over 4 days.

(Anna Richardson compared lots of weight loss 'fixes' on Supersize v Superskinny which is also available on 4OD but I guess that most folks on here already know that!)

Yeah, I liked the eating fruit before chocolate thing! But I find just one piece of chocolate will do me...but really good idea! Sort of makes you stop and think before you start eating, do you reeeallyy need it or is it a craving that will go away!

Hey guys! emoticon

I missed this last night, so just watching it on Channel4.com. You can find it here: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/my-big-
fat-diet-show/4od#3019322

Anyway, thought some people might find it interesting! They have a "supermarket" that they've made up which only has things portioned in 100 calories. And they are discussing offers in Supermarkets etc. Its in the UK too, so more applicable to us really!! emoticon

Second part is on Thursday emoticon
