Our mini challenge for the upcoming week from Jan 25th till Feb 7th

As Coach Nicole says, 'Aim for 8 glasses a day and you will feel the difference.

Drinking water throughout the day, before, and during meals helps you eat less overall. Drink water before the meal and you will be less hungry. Also people think they are hungry when they are actually thirsty or dehydrated. When you feel tired have a couple of glasses of water and don't be surprised if you feel refreshed in a few minutes.


A huge part of losing weight is believing you can do it and realizing it's not going to happen overnight.

I retain water, so I have to drink more water during this challenge. I also have been drinking green smoothies every morning:
ingredients: 1/2 banana, 1/2 apple, spinach, collard greens, ginger, mango and flax seed a little avocado and cucumber all organic, and my skin is so clear. loving it!!

First mini challenge...DONE. emoticon

Prior to challenge I had already replaced white bread with 100% whole wheat/grain. Now, I have also replaced white pasta with wheat and/or veggie pasta and replaced white rice for brown. Next, will be transitioning my family from white flour to whole wheat.

I also, occasionally, substitute corn or 100% whole wheat tortillas for flour ones, but I enjoy white flour tortillas too much to give them up completely. just have to keep in mind that moderation is key!!! emoticon

Fridge and kitchen cabinets clean out of unhealthy stuff, all gone. Replace with fresh veggies and fruits, lean meats, low fat dairy, eggs, plenty of water.

1. eat more fruits n veggies
2. drink more water
3. exercise daily (high intensity cardio-2 days a week; low impact cardio 2 days a wk; strength training 5 days a wk; light walk for at least 15 minutes daily)

My three things to focus on is to:
1. Drink 8 cups of water daily

LUVGOODMUZIK.......I just have to be "consistent"....I get off to a good start and then something goes haywire and ...well.......... you know the rest emoticon . My goal is to lose "50 lbs" . When I think about that number it overwhelms me so I am doing 5lbs at a time until I reach my goal weight, when ever that is.

GR8TAWK... it seems our goals are similar.

My number one goal is to develop a steady exercise plan that includes cardio five days a week.

Others include: Go meatless at least one day a week

Avoid foods with added sugar.

Thanks GR8TAWK, gives me something to look forward to and make me stay on track. Hard part not giving those things to myself just because I LOVE myself. Even though no one can see the last one is zip lining or horseback riding which I have to be under a certain weight to do. So can never give that to myself unless I loss the weight.

This challenge should help and make me be more accountable. Let go get this weight off, live a healthy life and feeling great everyday. We can do this. emoticon emoticon

Hey BBQ's, I hope this challenge encourages us to get to know each other a little more and maybe even build some friendships. I know I haven't really chatted with anyone in this team since I joined back in Dec. or it might have been Nov. ( I forget, lol).

Anyway, is anyone interested in having accountability partners or something similar?? In one of my other teams we did a weight loss challenge where we were broken into three groups that sort of competed with each other. It was really fun and a lot 'inactives' actually participated, which made it even more cool.

I started the Official 28-day Bootcamp Challenge on Tues. of this week. Anyone interested in joining me?? Could be a good combination with this challenge, in helping with getting those cardio pts.!!
