I completely agree with the "chatting" being the most enjoyable part of this challenge. The "newscasts" were a creative outlet and just keeping up with all who were involved was wonderful.

Speaking of newscasts, here is the final report:

This just in...

Andrea HAS completed the SS2SS Bootcamp and has gotten the feeling back in her bum! This is wonderful news for her dog, Sandie, as she was nearly smothered a few times when Mom sat down on the couch.

Though the scales don't reflect the results hoped for, inches have melted away, posture is straighter, and Andrea now knows a daily workout routine is achievable with a bit of discipline.

Don't be discouraged. Many people voiced that same outcome. I think they were expecting "Biggest Loser" results. But if you read Denise's comments, Boot camp was mainly done to get people in the habit of having a daily exercise program. This was something to build on.

I haven't measured, but I only lost 3.8 pounds. I'm happy. However, to me the boot camp only had 3 days that impacted me - kickboxing, abs and pilates. The resistance band workouts were fairly benign compared to what I normally do.

What I enjoyed most was getting to chat with my classmates during the camp. We had a lot of fun.

Good luck on your new program. Don't be discouraged because you made it through the entire month. emoticon

I enjoyed bootcamp, it was nice to do something a little different with my workout routine. I must say though, I am disappointed with my results. I followed every video each and everyday, I did much more than 30 minutes of cardio a day ( and I do cardio 6 days a week), I did ALL the optional challenges and didn't lose one pound and only lost a combined total of about .75". Going into this I was hoping to get to my weight loss goal. Oh well, I guess it was still fun so it was worth it. Good luck everybody for the last few prizes.

For June I'm going to try a different "bootcamp". I just got the EA Sports Active for Wii and it has a 30 day challenge. I'm going to take the challenge and add it to my normal cardio routine and see if that gets any results.

Bootcamp finished! I agree Pam, its been fun on this thread. Maybe we can come up with some idea on how to continue the Bootcamp. I know when the first Boot camp ended in January, I still did the exercises for awhile as they were saved in the Healthy Lifestyle/Fitness section of Spark People. I might do that with this Bootcamp, since I like the resistance bands. Not too keen on the Pilates but would like to get better at it.

Last Boot Camp workout done. Also did my 30 minutes of cardio. I have mixed feelings about how I feel about the end of this camp. I know I didn't "love" it. I loved the people who chatted in this group. It made it a lot more fun, and I really got to know some people a lot better. For that I'm truly grateful.

Guess it's back to the Fourth of July challenge.

Well I have a mini team of three so I might make a June/Summer challenge - not so intense as the bootcamp but maybe a video a day and a couple of days of hard workouts. If I can have one day where I swim, one where I do three SP cardio vids and one where I do yoga it will be a nice balance of cardio, plus the strength vids are short and simple enough to fit in daily :)

I did put on this week which sucks but I can't say I am surprised - my eating has been all over the place so I am back to tracking what I am eating - if I hold myself accountable then maybe I won't splurge so much ;)

I *did* do three cardio vids today though and the pilates core workout which I really enjoy - I was incredibly sweaty afterwards but I am kinda getting used to that ;)

Aly, I'm so glad you're not having to "hoof" it in the hot sun. I would hope that they would find your car, but we know that is probably not going to happen. Even if they did find it, there probably wouldn't be much left of it.

Glad you're controlling your urge to make your self feel better with food. Thank Jeremy for me for making you those tortilla pizzas. They do sound yummy.

Hope June is a better month for you guys.

Well luckily (??) I don't have a job so don't really need a car and we still have our old van so Jeremy is using that (at 12mpg!!!) in the meantime - kinda hoping we get the car back but don't want to get my hopes up too much.

Kinda back on track today - haven't eaten much cause I felt sick but managed a bowl of fiber one cereal for lunch which was something - am really feeling like I need more fiber right now! Jeremy is making tortilla pizzas as well - they are really scrummy, feel naughty like comfort food (which is what I am really wanting right now!) but have very little calories as long as you don't go overboard on the cheese :)

Aly, I'm shocked. What an awful thing to happen. I thought it was bad when my car was broken in to in the middle of the night, but to have it stolen, wow.

Sorry you've had a couple of bad eating days, but remember that is no reason to stop your journey. Just one of those bumps in the road. I know you'll get back on track.

How are you going to get around without a car? I know it's really getting hot there so I hate to think of you having to walk everywhere.

Our reporters in the field have lost track of Andrea. She has given them the slip, but we'll report back as soon as she is found. She may have gone into seclusion until she gets feel back in her "bum."

Now, we have a report on Pam's outing to the Cholesterol Special Restaurant last night. This reporter is proud to report that she did excellent. Her meal consisted of 1/2 cup of pinto beans with a spoonful of coleslaw for the appetizer accompanied with 1 small hush puppy washed down with a huge glass of water. For the main course, it was 2 small catfish fillets (leaving 2 on the plate), 2 onion rings and 2 french fries. This reporter couldn't believe it. It was amazing to watch.

Actually, the only thing that saved her was she talked all evening long, even giving a small impromptu speech about the honoree. If not for visiting with a lot of people she had not seen for a long time, she may have been filling her mouth with food. All in all, it was a good evening.

Pam, here, back at the water cooler. Scuttlebutt around here is Andrea is a fighter and she will definitely GO ALL THE WAY. She's a scrappy one, even with the numb bum, odds are in her favor.

Stay tuned for the Water Cooler Gang tomorrow to here about my possible eating frenzy. But this reporter is sure she has things under. A lot of water has already been drunk today with a snack planned before leaving for the appreciation dinner. Hopefully the appreciation will remain on the honoree and not the plate of fried food in front of me.

She... could... go... ALL... THE... WAY...!

Step right up ladies and Gentlemen!

See Andrea, the Amazing Bootcamp Video Woman!

That's right folks, this woman has managed to complete 6, count them... 6!, Bootcamp videos in just under 12 hours!

Up with the sun this morning, she put on her New Balance and did the 7-Minute Seated Resistance Band, the 10-Minute Crunchless Core, and the 5-Minute Lower Body Resistance Band workouts.

At the time of our latest interview, it is difficult to say what the effects on her glutes are, as it has been reported they have now gone numb. This is a blessing to others in her home (and on her block), as her incessant howling was detrimental to the sleep patterns of those within a city block radius.

With only 3 days remaining in this challenge there are now even odds here in the studio that she will complete the challenge on time.

And now, back to Pam, for an update on all things aquadic... and fried.

5/28 - boot camp video done plus 55 min. of cardio.

I'm done early (before lunch) today because I going to an appreciation dinner that they're giving for a friend of my tonight. It's at a catfish restaurant. This could be dangerous. You know how we southern girls luv our fried catfish, fried hush puppys, fried potatoes and don't forget, fried dill pickles. But not to worry, they do serve up a mean bowl of pinto beans and, of course, cole slaw. Oh, my, I'm drooling on my keyboard.

Folks, this just in from the folks around the water cooler. The odds are running in favor of Andrea catching up on her Boot Camp videos. Expert sat her glutes will recover and become better than ever. To date, they could find no record of anyone dying from a sore butt. emoticon . As for the jump roping or lack there of, odds makers are split. But this reporter believes when it's time to report them on Sunday, there will be progress on that front.

emoticon Thanks Pam, for that update on the lifestyles of the poor and unknown.

Speaking of... we have an update just in on the progress Andrea is making in the SS2SS Bootcamp.

After 3 videos, including a 10 minute Kickboxing, a lower body balancing resistance band and a death-defying Butt Blaster workout, she is now caught up through May 25. An attempt to get the 26th "behind" her was made, but her gluteous maximus and gluteous minimus muscles said not just "No", but "No way!"

There are rumors circulating throughout fitness circles worldwide that she will rise before the sun on the 28th to get the 26th and 27th videos completed. This, or course, remains to be seen.

Stay tuned for our next update during our morning newscast.

And this just in...

Andrea has fallen behind on the SS2SS Bootcamp videos once again. It has been reported that "life events" have gotten in the way, but this reporter knows, as does our listening audience, that those who want to get something done - do, and those who don't - make excuses.

That being said, everyone here in the studio is looking forward to this evening's newscast with high hopes for reporting on the completion of said videos.

ALY - Sorry you're feeling yucky. If you had to miss videos,those were the easiest to catch up on. Glad you're sticking with it.

BOUNCER - I forgot that tomorrow was ab day. Double yuck. I have tailbone issues so last week I did them on my bed. It was a lot easier, but I still hated doing. Strange that I kind of like the pilates one. I suck at it, but like it better than tomorrows.

Well I took yesterday and today off for cardio as I am feeling yucky but I did my cardio on the weekend so these are my two weekly days off! I also caught up on the video I missed yesterday so am back on track - let's hope I lose some this week!!

Got all caught up before leaving for out of town yesterday. Now I've got to get today's done...

Haha Pam, good points! I have been a bit busy lately. I'm so glad I'm getting more and more in the habit of taking care of me though. Now, instead of thinking, 'Oh well, guess I missed out on that...', now I'm thinking something more like 'I may not have gotten it done this minute, but I WILL get it done, 'cuz I'm worth it!'

I can't believe we're on the last week. It goes by so fast with some of the videos being so easy. I don't know what I'm going to do because one of the groups I was in ended this past week, "Shape of for Summer Challenge." It's been my favorite team so far. It had a lot of structure and lots of accountability. Now boot camp is ending. I'm going to be lost. emoticon

Bethany, go to the Sweatsuit to Swimsuit Booth Camp Team, even if you haven't joined, I think you can view the challenges. Go down to the challenges. Start on a Sunday. Each video is linked. You can scroll through for an entire week and find out what they are. They repeat every week.

Or you can click "Healthy Lifestyle" on the tool bar then click on the video.

So proud of you for starting this. Don't get discouraged if you can't do some of the moves. Take it at your own pace.

To me, the Sunday kickboxing is difficult only because of my balance issues, but it burns a lot of calories for a 10 minute workout. I usually do it twice. Then there is an ab workout I have to do on my bed because it kills my tailbone.

Each workout and bonus challenge is posted the day before so you get a heads up of what's to come.

Andrea, I did the ab workout on the bed and it didn't hurt my tailbone. It probably wasn't as good as being on the floor but it's better than not doing it because of the pain.

Started week 3 Bootcamp. Sunday did 10 min cardio,

DAWN - Sounds as if you're getting a little stressed out. emoticon Just do what you can do. And, what's better than being outside getting a little fresh air along with your exercise. It's not as important what you're doing as long as you are "moving it" somewhere. Keep plugging along. You're doing emoticon .


ALY - I know what you mean about the kickboxing video. I have to do it in a little hallway I have so I can be close to a wall for support. I haven't fallen yet, but I definitely go at my own pace. I feel for you and the hot weather. It was in the 90s here all last week. Then, last yesterday a cool front moved in. It was 48 this morning and 78 today. I think it's fine that you're doing the original boot camp. Like I said to Dawn, as long as you're moving, it's the right exercise for you to be doing. Sweating isn't pretty but it is really good for you so keep it up, girlfriend. emoticon

I caught up today! I did the New YOU bootcamp vid though - I co-ordinate myself much better on that one. I end up skipping half of the exercises in this cardio one because I fall over half of the time!! I figure it is better to do one where I am constantly moving and getting a workout!!

Of course, the weather is hotting up (was 97 at 10am) so I was dripping with sweat - our AC is not all that great and it was horrible! I am hoping the extra sweating will mean I lose more weight!! And I got to have a nice shower after so it could be worse ;)

I"m behind on boot camp videos. It looks like I"m going to have to do 4 today or maybe I'll do 3 today and 3 tomorrow. There's still so much to do and not enough time to do it. I feel I'm getting less and less time on the computer, but I've been outside more getting exercise in that way. I'm off to play catch up real quick.

I don't have one. Been thinking about it, but with my balance issues, I'm just not sure. I'm 5' tall, but I have short legs - lol if that makes since. I'm going to talk to the PT when I go next time as to what size I should get. I use the ones there but they are always holding my gate belt to make sure I don't hit the floor.

Well, the weekend got the better of me in more ways than one... I'll blog in a bit... I don't want to forget how I'm feeling.

Anyway, tonight I'll be doing SS2SS videos for the 16th, 17th, and 18th. Shouldn't be too bad since they usually target a different area every 3 days.

TOM is here, so I'm not weighing, measuring, or otherwise.

I'm looking forward to the week ahead!

Pam - Have you tried ab workouts on a stability ball? If you have the ball placed right and it's the right size for you, you could alleviate pressure on your tailbone and lower back. Just a thought.

I lost .2 the first seek and 1.2 this week. I'm not going to measure again until the end of the camp.

Hang in there. The scales will eventually catch up. The main thing is just keep making those good choices.

How's everyone doing? Anyone seeing some results? I need to break out the tape measure and see what the last two weeks have done. The weight loss has kind of stalled out again which is REALLY frustrating.

Andrea, sorry you're feeling yucky. I can't believe it's graduation time already. Wow!

I finished my week 2 of boot camp. Veenas, I like the pilates much better than the ab routine day. It kills my tailbone which I have broken a couple of times. Maybe I can get one of those doughnut things and try doing it on that. A pillow doesn't help. I'll find something. Maybe I should try doing the on the bed, in my pajamas so I can go right to bed - lol.

Didn't do the video for the 16th... TOM hit with a vengeance and it's all I can do to stand up, let alone try to workout.

I'm usually much better after the first day, so am hoping to get caught up on the 17th after the boy's graduation.

I did the first New You bootcamp vid three times for today's cardio - not very fun as it is getting so hot! But hopefully it will kick me into gear as I just feel like I am plodding along - I need to get on here more often!!!

Got up this morning and did the video. Wish I'd gotten up early enough to do it twice. I'll try to do it again this evening.

Saw the "optional" challenge of getting 7 - 8 hours of sleep and thought about going back to bed to get started immediately!

I agree Veenas. The upper and lower band workouts are very fast and easy. Now that one day of ab work is very difficult for me because I have tailbone issues. But I'm very proud of all of us for actually making it almost 2 weeks and we're still in.

I usually get my RDA of fiber in every day so that one was very easy for me. What is to hookey, is that I ran out of oatmeal yesterday, too. But, instead of black bean soup, I had made a pot of 15 bean soup. Didn't have it for breakfast, but will have it for lunch.

You are doing great. Keep eating that fiber and you'll get double benefits because you'll get your cardio in by running to the little girls room. emoticon

I'M HERE!!!!!!!

Thanks Blabbermouth for giving me the heads up to this thread! I actually set up a bootcamp towards the end of April for a couple of friends and myself in a little team we have so I kinda alternate between the vids and some days I do both so I am REALLY hoping to see some progress!

Just have to curb the eating again as I started to go overboard again ;) BUT I am sticking at it - I am fine with things slowing down but I still wish I could go back to the crazy amount of weight I lost in January! Much harder to work out when it is this hot though :(
