Zumba was great !!!!

I skipped the weight class because I wasn't to fond of the instructor's workouts and music.

So I woke up this morning and did a weight training work out with Comcast on Demand.

Came to the office today. But I love that my gym is downstairs. So I took a break and went to a Zumba class !!!! The regular instructor was out (love him) but the sub gave us a good workout.

Hoping the weather holds for tomorrow so I can get a go on a walk in the morning.

Sorry about your insomnia- no fun at all. I'm part of another group doing a "no added sugar or sweeteners" challenge this week. I'm determined to do it. With one day in, I'm learning I don't have too many different options for packaged foods that generally complement my fruits and vegetables. Alas.

Good for you. I've been lazy this week. I did get a workout on Monday but my insomnia has me in blah blah mood.

It worked! Lost a pound this week!! Definitely feeling my abs and obliques.
My son seems to have a cold and slept so poorly last night. i did too and was up with him from 4:15 on so I couldn't work out. Boo to that for lots of reasons. Hope everybody's hanging in there and staying motivated!

I tried a couple of new ones this week- a cardio one that has intervals with Cathy Syphers and a 20 minute blast one. Could feel them a day and two days after doing them so that's good. Working my body in a different way to try to get a change!

no kidding! Chilly indeed. The cold has forced me to do some other kinds of workouts indoors (mostly using the On Demand workouts on the tv). I have really come to enjoy them. Sometimes I just want to get out and run though. Have been having problems with one of my ankles lately and am just hoping that goes away! I feel like I am in a rut and need something new to jump start my last few pounds and the winter bleh.

Sorry for being MIA there for a bit! Happy New Year! Hope all is well. Sugar addiction is in full force since trying to adjust from central time (went to visit my in-laws for New Year's) and wanting more than just a treat here and there. Having some problems with one of my ankles but will not give up! Have been varying the workouts. Bought jeans the weekend before Christmas and was super excited to get in size 10s. Put on a couple of pounds these few weeks but working on shaving them back off!

That sounds crazy but fun, LaJuan! I was just reading an article recently about how women don't just play games as much as guys do and that it's one of the keys to really being happy :) Nice work!

Usually Wednesdays are my days off from working out but I set the alarm this morning and snoozed it a few times but was determined and got up to do a short run and some weights. I am kinda tired now but felt very proud for putting in an extra workout the week after a holiday to help even things out!

Hello everyone,

A group of us played flag football on Thanksgiving. emoticon Can I say that was hard work!!!! At 49 trying ( and I said TRYING) to catch 20 and 30 somethings was a work out. We had way too much fun. The plan is to do it again Christmas day. emoticon

We won't talk about the what food and the amount I had for Thanksgiving not to mention my niece cooked a fantastic meal the following Sunday. I had no idea she had it in her !!! lol

Got my workout in this morning and have tennis practice after work.

Cruising for the next four days and my friend and I have already committed to working out at least two of those days. "We can do it".

One day at a time.

Glad you're posting here too, Belsnickel! Sorry I got so busy last week with guests and Thanksgiving that I didn't make the time to get on the site or log my crazy high-calorie food! I did keep up with my workouts though and feel very proud that I worked out on Thanksgiving, as well as Friday and Sunday in addition to my regular days last week! How'd you guys do?

so good to see people posting in this group. In a recent move to Va, I lived with just myself and SW, The shower was always ready. Niw there are 8 of us. At first because I'm retired, I let everyone else clear out. But that plan did not work. My morning was gone before I could get started. Now I've learned to be first. Before retiring I got much of my exercise at lunch time. I had several good partners though out the years. After retiring I began swimming, This too worked much better after I found a partner. So for me find some one to share your exercise with.

One more thing- I try not to wake up and think about it.

This is so true for me. If I start talking to myself (and yes I do). I will talk myself out of getting up. I just do a stretch while I'm still in bed and get up. It works 99% of the time. lol

ADPITHERESA- When I realized about a month ago that the only way to fit in more workouts in my week was to get up at 5am, I definitely wasn't sold. I just didn't feel like I had any other choice and I really want to feel my best. The first week I did it, I made a point of going to bed earlier than usual so I'd still be able to get 7+ hours of sleep. It made it slightly less painful. I make sure everything is set up before I go to bed- water bottle filled, deodorant and clothes in the bathroom, shoes, keys and any gloves, hat etc. by the door. This helps me when I wake up to just roll out of bed since everything is ready and I don't want to have wasted the time I spent doing it the night before. For me, it's also good because my husband always goes to sleep later than I do. I think it helps keep me honest because I don't want to have to say to myself or him that I got everything out but I didn't go. One more thing- I try not to wake up and think about it. I mean, I try not to let myself think "do I want to get up?" because I probably wouldn't do it. I find if I just roll out and get ready, it's too late to turn back! Hope those help!

5 am !!!!! That is so not me. I use to wake up at 5:15 to go to a boot camp at my gym. The instructor was the best. I should say is the best. He still teaches but I'm too lazy to open my eyes that early. emoticon

My job is sending me out to a construction site for about 17 months and I promised myself I will take at least two of his classes before I leave. Maybe next week !!!

I've said the same thing- I don't remember it being this dark. Weird though, because how do we forget from one year to the next?!

My work outs are going well.

I'm at my solid four times a week but I started Tennis lessons last week so that should go up to 5 days (which my cardiologist suggest). emoticon

Had a great Zumba class last week. We danced to Michael Jackson's Thriller because it was Holloween. very fun emoticon

Yea, driving home in the dark is weird and for some reason it seems darker than normal. Or maybe that's just me. lol

Hello KC,

This batch I included, olive oil, cyanne (sp) pepper, onions, minced garlic, apple vinegar and chicken stock with a bit of salt. at the end I added dry basil (that was a test) but they came out yummy.

I Love Zumba! I had to stop going to the evening class I went to for over a year because of my work schedule and picking up my little guy. Sometimes I really miss it. Nothing like group motivation too! Good for you!

I ran yesterday and got three short but brisk walks in today so am feeling very proud!

How'd the cleaning go? I did that last Thursday morning and just tried to get as much done as possible all in one morning.

What a rainy day !!!! wonder what tomorrow will bring. My Godson has a football game and I don't want to be out in that wetness. But that's what Godmothers are for. Go Team !!!

Hmm. I thought I may have gone over my calories today because of eating two treats that I don't usually have but I wasn't sure. I decided to brush my teeth when my son did, figuring that I probably shouldn't eat anything else anyway. Thank goodness I did that. Put my info in to SP tonight and realized I had gone over. I know I got a really good workout in this morning and walking this afternoon so it should even out but still.
I saw on facebook that some friends went to a pumpkin patch today with their kids and was bummed because originally I was supposed to have brunch with them today until it was cancelled due to one person having to work on their house and another person not knowing if they were going to be in town. I was sad because they didn't invite me and my little guy to come to the pumpkin thing. Sometimes I really don't like Facebook. I wouldn't have known otherwise and would have preferred ignorance in this case. Alas, thanks for listening.

Yes, I can't generally get myself out of work during the day either but glad you got to work it in later, LaJuan.

It's terrible that the government is closed and I'm hoping for the best for everyone so directly affected daily. Rock Creek is closed the way it is on the weekends so I took advantage of that to change up my run this morning and get in a fun one with good inclines.

Hello KC,

I do weigh myself but I'm not too hung up on if I loose or gain. As long as I stay within 5 pounds, I'm good.

Eastern Market, haven't been there in a while. Loved the last time I adventured that way.

I use to be "all or nothing" but I got out the habit. If I clean my house for 15 minutes, I'm happy.

I'm hoping I can sneek out and catch the Tabata class at lunch today.

No worries, that's great!
How's it going for you so far? I just completed a week where I didn't lose anything. I did do some extra working out but I also did some extra eating out and desserts. I was disappointed but also really want to enjoy life and not get caught up with every ounce week to week. One of the things I can struggle with is all or nothing thinking- not going for a run because I only have 20 minutes and can't do a full workout, saying no to chocolate entirely, etc.
I got to go to Eastern Market yesterday and try something I'd never tried- white nectarines- which were amazing! I looked at all of the baked goods and considered getting something but skipped that!
