Plus, I totally agree that it will be different for each person - maybe even different for the same person at different times!

I am usually doing 4 sets of 25 swings each per workout (sometimes 30-30-20-20) for 100 swings total. I'm doing this three times most weeks. It does seem to be having positive effects!

I am no expert, but it seems like the "minimum effective dose" would change with each person and how fit you are. I am 68 years old, 5 feet 7 and 190 lbs and for me it seems that the sweet spot is around 55-60 swings per workout. I am not sure about swinging everyday yet.

I know a number of you are very fit and your kettlebell training is a large number of minutes per month.

I'd like to know people's thoughts on the Effective Minimum Dose.

Tim Ferris (in his book 4-Hour Body) talks about 75 swings, three times a week as the effective minimum dose for fat loss.

Other people around the net say 300 swings a day is 'the Goldilocks number', not too much, not too little.

I'm currently somewhere in between.

What do you all think about the kettlebell 'minimum effective dose' idea?
