I grew up in a time when there were no organized sports for girls in my schools. However, we all rode our bikes just about everywhere and engaged in a lot of "unorganized" physical activity at recess like tether ball and dodge ball. I also remember running around a lot.

I used to play softball with the boys on the playground until 6th grade when they decided "no girls" and the teachers backed them up.

I did take ballet, but not in school.

If you're not having fun, then why run?

You don't get to choose how you're going to die, or when. You can only decide how you're going to live. Now.

We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world.

I did gymnastics, ballet, and kickball in Elementary School... then moved onto club volleyball and did that through middle school... then did the Golf Team for two years while also doing competitive cheer... then cheered for my high school during the last two years of high school. In college and after, I didn't play sports, but I got into yoga, workout DVDs, running and cycling.

I don't have kids yet, but I'm the development director for a gymnastics gym that has classes from 9am-9pm for 18 months to 18 years... we also do some community outreach classes, so I'm around active (fit and nonfit) kids all day, and someday my kids will explore all sorts of sports, including gymnastics (which is great for coordination even with boys), until they find their fitness activity that really clicks for them :)

I was a sailor. Does that count? I rowed on a crew for several years at the Austin Rowing Center. I highly recommend it to anyone who has the slightest interest. It's a lot of fun and a great workout.

Never, never, never give up.

I used to play soccer on a team and of course PE in elementary school which included softball and kickball. I also was in karate and gymnastics. I wish I had kept it up.

Now I'm a runner and my kids are pretty much just in ROTC which includes PT (physical training).

If it is important enough to want it is important enough to fight for.

"If you run, you are a runner. It doesn't matter how fast or how far. It doesn't matter if today is your first day or if you've been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run." ~John Bingham~"

What sports did you play when you were a child?
Did you do sports in high-school or college?
Do you play any sports now?
If you have kids, what sports do they play?
