Hi guys.

I plan on entering every 5K on my lil island this year.

I plan on improving my time.

I plan on redoing the C25K so that I can build up my endurance and be able to run the entire race.

Hi everyone! I'm new here, but not new to running. My goal for 2014 is the Dallas Half Marathon on April 6. Just finished one of my training runs. emoticon

DAYLILY1601, are you using some sort of training program?

I want to run the Color Run in June, and then improve my time for Color Me Rad in September.

I really like the C25K program, but I know if I accelerate through it in the 8 weeks, I will blow out my knees. So I have modified it to suit my needs. I will change it up every month instead of every week. So my goal is to finish the C25K before the end of the year.

My running goals for 2014 are 1) to get back in shape and train for a 10K in April and
2) complete a 1/2 marathon at the end of the year.

I have set two running goals for 2014:

1. Run at least one event in each month of 2014. (I can substitute a virtual run if there really is nothing that will work in my schedule.)

2. Like DayLily1601, I will run my first half marathon. Mine will most likely be in May, and I'd also love some advice. The longest race that I've done is a 13K, and I've also done a handful of 5Ks.

DayLily, I'm nervous and scared, too...so much so that I haven't quite taken the plunge to register yet. Good luck with your half! It's coming up soon. Please let me know how it goes.

I've registered for my first 1/2 marathon February 1st. Kind of nervous and scared. Any good advice for a first timer?

I've entered the Dublin leg of the Rock and Roll Half Marathon at the start of August, I did it last year so improving my time is the main goal.

I am overcoming some health issues so I'm doing the Galloway conditioning program. Later I want to work toward a time goal in a 5k

The possibilities always outnumber the problems.

January goal is 100 minutes per week on treadmill, varied speed/incline. I am NOT setting yearly goals this year because I fail at those. I am setting monthly goals and challenges this year!

I need to get back into a regular running schedule, and a solid replacement for running when the sidewalks/paths are snow-covered. i have just kind of fallen off the running wagon since sometime this summer. Only excuse was a changing work schedule and our younger son's wedding. Pretty flimsy excuses, considering I'm semi-retired!
I would like to run twice a week, zumba once, and walk in between. Discipline and consistency do not seem to be my strong points when it comes to taking care of me.

Actually it's not too early....must not be too early anyhow as I was thinking of kind of the same thing on my quick jog.

As I "reflected" which entailed panting, gasping, and shin pains I said to myself "self, you HAVE to be more consistent in the New Year so that when you run a 5K, you can RUN it and not walk"

So, starting NOW (not the New Year) I've been trying to jog a little bit every day using the C25 and Spark Rookie...I want to get to where two minutes doesn't seem like a daunting task to run...I want to now aim for the Princess Half Marathon with my daughter...that's the HUGE goal...LOL

So, I think I'm going to try for a run a month.

Does anyone have any special goes for the New Year? Any mileage goals? Any racing goals? I know it's early but I was thinking about this yesterday as I reflected over the past year. I do not run as much as I should so I considered making a goal of 500 miles walking or running for the new year. It may seem small to some, but it's a lot for me.

The possibilities always outnumber the problems.
