Hi, Everyone, and congratulations on your achievements and continued commitment to yourselves!

Yes, I've been away a long time. My days start pre-dawn and end late, and I've been falling asleep with my iPad in my lap. 'Way too much going on. Nonetheless, I do still keep an eye on how you're all doing.

I'm in the midst of preparing for Race Director Certification, and hope to launch an event just for you, sometime in the not too distant future. Meanwhile, yes - very hard to work out or race in the heat, and some of us are getting triple digit temps and high humidity!

Hydrate well. If you can, do your workouts early in the morning. Or, if available to you, go to the gym.

A good spin class, bike ride or swim are great alternatives to running or walking, and will help strengthen your heart, lungs and legs without the impact. Interject some strength and resistance workouts 1-2X/week, as well, plus stretch daily to maintain flexibility.

There's a colour run on the 13th July - it's a 5k. think I'll do it but I don't know why it will start at 8 a.m. It is summer time and the Bahamas. I guess I'll be able to survive for an hour in that heat and humidity. Obviously, these are non-exercisers planning this.

rain has been a hamper for me to get my r/w and swimming in. went to the gym one day and did a exercise video the other day. If the inclement weather continues - it'll be a workout in the gym again. Gotta make lemonade.

Volunteered for an event and decided to walk to it rather than drive. Trying to get some extra miles in and do my 10k steps for fit bit. I volunteered for 2 days - day 1 got the 18k steps. Day 2 7K steps - so mad 'cos if I had walked back instead of taking ride I'd have made it.
