Great to hear you found shoes that are working for you!

Tip: mark the purchase date inside the tongue of the shoe. Most shoes last at least 200-300 miles. So, keep track of how many miles you put on your shoes. Then, you'll know how often you need to replace them - or do so when you no longer feel comfortable in them.

Good job!

Thanks for your reply! I went researching on my own online, went to a couple of outlet stores to try some on, and finally settled on a pair of Adidas Marathon 10. They feel AMAZING! Just did 3 straight days of workouts in them as I started C25K and I'm impressed so far. My feet like them so far. Thanks again.

Blessings!

Welcome aboard our team!

If there's more than one running store nearby, try out all of them until you find the one you're most comfortable with.

I remember walking into a store and asking for the person who fits people for running shoes. The smart aleck teenaged boy was more interested in flirting with a bimbo girl and remarked that it's not rocket science. My reply was that he's obviously not a rocket scientist or he'd know better (way over his mental capacity to figure that out) and said that I'd make sure my entire running team stayed away from the store.

You do need to be properly fitted, your legs and feet will thank you.

Hey! Thanks for replying. I've tried that a few times and didn't feel very welcome; kind of told me there wasn't much to accommodate me. I guess I can try them again and hope for better service.

Go to a local running store and get fitted. Most shops are very kind, gentle, and encouraging - even to bigger athletes. They will help you find a good shoe that works for you. I am a plus size distance athlete (do half marathons) so am buying new shoes all the time. From the first time I went to my local running store (and yes was very self conscious) they have been super to now where there know me by first name.

Hey guys...I'm new around here (not really, just hadn't been very active) and I'm ready to try to start jogging.

I need shoe recommendations for running/jogging -- something for a heavy runner/jogger with very flat feet (overpronate). I've been on Runner's World and found their suggestions but was hoping for a real life suggestion.

I just got some Asics Blur 33 this past weekend and haven't given them a whirl yet.

Help?? Anyone??

Blessings!
