I'm training for two local 5k races this spring. I'm also training for a Warrior Dash in May, and a Color Run this June. To train, I'm incorporating hills and speed intervals into my normal bi weekly 3.25 mile runs. It's awesome and it's awful all at the same time!! The hills aren't too bad, but holy cow, those speed intervals are a killer! I run as fast as I can for 30 seconds, and then walk for a minute; I do this for about 40 minutes.

I ran a 5k last spring and I did it in 40 minutes; I would like to beat my PR for the next two races. The Warrior Dash and Color Run are just for fun; and I get done when I get done! :)

Yesterday I did a 5k race (for the first time in a year). I had not ran for months until Jan 1st when I slowly started over again. I use 1 min run/90 sec walk intervals and that's what I did in the 5k. Managed to do it in 42 min 30 sec. I was happy with that. I was aiming for less than 45 minutes.

I walked/jogged intervals for 30 minutes... don't know how far it was, though. I got to go without my stroller, so it was loads easier than when I have the kids to push!

I am considering running a 5k in early March even though my original plan was to wait to start racing until June, so I ran a 5k today to see if I could A- run that long without stopping and B- how long it would take.

3.1 miles in 42:28, I am a minute slower than my first 5k way back when I just started running and was much heavier, but hey I just had knee surgery and at least I can still run!

Yesterday I did 3.14 miles of running which is the longest distance I've done in about a year! I had gotten out of the habit of running during the summer when it got too hot, and just the first of the year started in again. Followedit with another 3 miles of walking. today has been rainy outside so I've done indoor things for my exercise today.
