Hi Naeboe!

You are absolutely right about the strength training. It will definitely help with losing those last few pounds. That's how I knocked off my last 15 pounds. So, with only 2.6 left to go, you're golden!

Hi Ladies!!

Julia - Way to go!!! Congratulations.

I'm 34, 5'4" and have been maintaining my 60-lb lost for just the past month...yep...newbie! LOL

I lost 8 pounds on my own in December 2009 and then lost the remaining 52 pounds between January and August of 2010. I had always been pretty thin and athletic but then (due to health, poor diet and other reasons) I gained the weight over the last few years.

I'm so excited to be within my maintenance range of 127 to 132.

I'm excited to be in this maintenance thread. I want to especially connect with other maintainers and learn what others are doing to keep the weight off!

Best,
Bree

Hi girls,

I am 35 (only just!) and have been maintaining my weight loss of 63 lbs (with Weight Watchers) for 2 months now. I've been on holiday in July and put on 5 lbs which I lost in only 2 weeks and now I'm back where I was before. I'm enjoying it and I have now joined this website to ensure that I'm making the proper food choices to be healthy and balanced forever. My new goal is to have the correct intake of calories, carbohydrates, fat and proteins every day. I want to really crack on with nutritional expertise and learn how to keep this weight off.

The only time I will accept the scales going up will be if I'll fall pregnant! emoticon

I think the longest I have maintained was for 6mths. It is Hard. If I could figure that out I would so estatic! I aimed to be 150/155 but when I reached 145 I was loving myself. Now I am about 160 and wish i was at least 150. My goal is to loose about 5 lbs until I get to 145 and figure out this maintain business!!!

DID YOU FIGURE IT OUT YET????

Way to go and welcome to the group! I have to get back on the wagon because officially I'm not maintaining anymore, i have to shake off 10-12 pounds again. With major family illnesses, stress, and the holidays, I sabotaged myself. Let's get a group challenge going again everyone! It's a new year, let's bring it!

Try a little harder, be a little better

I started on this journey in July of '07 at almost 300#, I am riding around 195 now. Maintaining hasn't been, until this point, a word in my vocabulary because I didn't see myself ready to use it. I still have pounds to lose, I still have fitness to gain.
I am seriously struggling right now. I had some major hormonal changes that I am trying to fix now, that threw my body in a tail spin. the good news? 5 or s years ago- I wouldn't have known my body enough to know any different. I am losing a grip on my fitness- i was on my way to being a runner and lost my groove over the past couple months. I want that power back, I want that strength back. I just have to work harder to get it. In the meantime I have to keep telling myself- those 100 pounds are off to stay and I can control it when my weight goes up some : )

Well, I'm new to this SparkTeam, and have actually not QUITE reached my goal weight, so technically I'm not maintaining yet...

but, actually, I am so happy with the weight I've lost and the weight that I am, that I decided to start learning about maintaining. Really, I just now want to get more fit and build more lean muscle, and I reckon those last few pounds will come off as a result of that. But if they don't, then I'm comfortable with maintaining where I am.

I started "maintaining" on 5/12. Since then, oddly enough, I've lost 2-3 lbs. I had a hard time loosing before then. That is a head scratcher.

The thread title is "100,000 calories burned for February" or something like that. It's great! I hope you hop on board, it's a lot more fun with more people.

Try this link, I'm not sure if it'll work.

Yay for you! Nice job! To me this was the hard part, getting the weight off was the easy part! We have another thread where we keep track of our calories burned, if you would like to join to help you stay accountable, I'd love it! We only have 2 that reply right now and we'd love to have more! How much weight did you lose?

I've been maintaining for 6 months now! Wahoo! I weigh 40 pounds less than when I got married and I never want to be over 153 again! Shame on me for being 155.2 this morning, but it's because of christmas. anyone want to kick my butt into gear to get the weight back off over the next two weeks? I have no support system here at home. I'm new to the group and in search of a support group.

I had my second baby on 1/1/08. After my first turned one year old and I stopped breastfeeding, I gained 25lbs in a month. I'm back to my feel good weight and I already stopped breastfeeding. I don't like exercising much and I do not have time to go to the gym because I stay home with the baby. But I'm going to try to stay in my weight range. So far I have not been eating much due to stomach flu, we'll see what happens, maybe this website will motivate me.

Just started the whole 'maintaining' stage and intend on keeping the weight I'm at but still firm up what I need to in order to comfortably fit in 8's consistently. Thus, I'm new to this team. emoticon

Hi everyone,
I just now found this team and it fits perfectly for me!
I'm ranging in the weight of 125-128 lbs ever since I started eating healthy and exercising in a healthy way ~ 8 years ago. Before I struggled with ED for many years and ~10 years ago I would have said that eating a low, low calorie diet (like 1000 or even under!) is the way to go. *eek*!
Now I've finally realized what my body is comfortable with, know when the weight fluctuates (weirdly enough a few days before TOM I'm at the lowest of 124) and enjoy eating tons of healthy food in the range of 1700-1800 cals/day.
I love exercising and being active some way or another every day. emoticon

Welcome, Bubblyb! I do agree with MSELMARTIN - we're never going to be able to stick to a single weight. Give yourself a range and see how that works for you!

Bubblyb - Due to all types of things, it's hard to stay at one number. I give myself a five pound range. Of course I like to be on the lower end of it, but it helps me to keep my focus.

Congrats!

I stopped tracking, because I have a good idea in my head of how many calories I've eaten. I do use the quick tracker for fruits, veggies and water.

I track daily. I also track my checking account daily. For me, same idea, it's an easy enough way for me to keep on top of finances/diet.

But I'm weird like that :)

I am down to tracking 1 or 2 times a week, usually after a really bad day. The other days I think back to when I was using the menu plans for the number of servings of each food group per meal.

8 months. Does anyone still track on the food tracker? I am so paranoid about regaining, I still do it, but want to stop because I feel it is a crutch. I have tried not tracking a few times when we have gone away for a day or two. I would write down what I ate to see how I did after. Either I was over on my carb intake, or ate too few calories (for fear of eating too much). Any advice? How is everyone else doing it?

I'm going on 2 months of maintaining my loss. I'm still trying to get to the gym as often as I can, but I can tell when I don't get enough excercise.

I'm not much of a beach person so i'm not too concerned about swimsuit season, but I want to tone up more, not just maintain.

Congrats to all who have been a lot longer than me!
