I am glad Seeker is better .Lacey is like me she avoids bees like the plague,I guess seeing me go into anaphylactic shock from a bee sting scared her !

I'm happy to report that Seeker is A-OK. A tiny amount of residual swelling, but that's it. Of course tonight she was chasing bees again. Why oh why don't they learn????

I think it's better for tall dogs to eat and drink out of higher dishes. Then they're not bending over as far.

Seeker got stung by a bee tonight - so far she isn't having trouble breathing and is eating well and chewing on a bone. She's just got a lot of swelling.

I bought it because he is so tall and for whatever reason he did not like his water dish. He seems to be drinking out of this one. He is so silly and makes me laugh. Also likes to cuddle even when it is hot. Got to go back to work now...later.

Hello Kim I am glad Riley got adjusted to his new food and water dish I was looking at those , I thought they might be easier for me.

I'm here. Just was busy this week. Cleaned out my closet, now I need to do my drawers. Bought Riley a new food and water dish that stands higher. He looked at me like "you want me to eat out of this?" He seems ok with it now.

I am glad you are keeping so busy Kelly but I missed you mean beasts at work !

I can no longer get online at work at all, and most evenings I'm way too tired to sit on my computer. I've been busy training dogs, traveling and spending time with friends. I hope everybody is doing well!

Where is everyone?

I have to groom Lacey too but she is having fun racing around while I am gardening and she gets under the sprinkler and well then I don't fancy wrestling with a wet wiggly girl!

Had a great time on the water today. The water was clear and not deep in most places. We did about 6.5 miles and I am tired. Should be good sleeping tonight.

I am spending today recovering from getting a TON of sun and fresh air yesterday. So far this morning I've trimmed Opie's brother Charlie and I also trimmed JT. I have a LONG list of things to do (mostly grooming) but given that it's supposed to be 30 degrees everything I do will be inside.

Have fun kayaking!

It was fun, but don't want to do it too often as it was $40. Finally got my sister's car today, the one that passed away. I don't want to scratch it up when I get the kayak loaded. Going on a kayaking adventures tomorrow.

Didn't go ksyaking yesterday as i didn't want to hurt my bsck more. Did a canvas & critters painting class tonight st a small zoo. Afterwards, we got to see some of the animals. Didn't have my phone with me so I didn't get pictures.

Last year was the first time I took a week off work, because I couldn't move. So far it hasnt been too bad. I left over pain meds. It seems to do this once a yeear. 😞

Hurt my back today, just standing checking on my caterpillars. Felt something and pain shot down my leg. Kinda put me out of commission. I hate this, because it usually takes a week to feel normal again.

I let Riley out because he could smell something. I didn't see what it was until I caught movement...momma wood duck and at least 10 babies following her towards Lake Erie. Luckily, Riley didn't spot them. This afternoon i could hear a bird and looked around. Here it was a baby wood duck. I was able to catch it as it was all alone. Several hours had passed since momma left. i called a nature center and the areclosed for the day, but left me message tobring it on tomorrow. If myback is still hurting, it may be asick day aand i could then go.. The baby is so darn cute. I hope it is ok and lives. I would love to keep it and release it myself, but it is a wild animal.

You deserved a good review Kim! Dogs are funny Lacey gives me that look too! I am sorry you are missing your sister Kim there are bound to be times when you will miss her.

Finally got mt review today. It was good, but I kind of felt like she was kissing up to me, just gushing about what a good worker I am. Just don't have an answer yet about back pay. Getting my sister's car this week, it is finally out of probate. It just made me sad today, thinkingabout her. Missing her. Had to take it in, because a light was on.....water pump and I don't know what else ...going cost me. At least I will be getting money from my car.

I don't think Riley was happy with me the other day. Iwas across the street talking to my neighbors. He gave me such a look like, wheeerrrreeee have you been. It was so funny.

Funnily enough my friend's daughter has a broken ankle and she has a blood clot too so I guess it is not really all that uncommon.

That's too bad about the blood clot Cheri - I'm sure you were disappointed to miss your Father-in-Law's funeral.

That is terrible that you are waiting so long for your evaluation Kim.I am so glad Riley is a happy boy.I am doing well Kelly , just getting better slowly from the hip replacement .I was not able to go to my father-in-law's funeral cause I have a blood clot.

Well, I hope things get sorted out with your evaluation Kim. It doesn't seem right that you shouldn't get back pay due to somebody else not doing their job. I'd be very frustrated.

Still have not had my eval. The supervisor call in sick or something yesterday and is off on vaca today and i think also on Mon. I went to her boss and complained. She was unaware of the situation and texted her at home. I don't know if she got a response or not, but said she is working on it. My main concern is NOT getting retro pay as I was told the company doesn't do that...what BS! Not my fault this has been delayed and told her boss that I am due that money and it is not right to not get it due to someone not doing their job in a timely manner. Was rather po'd yesterday!

I'm glad that Riley is a happy boy and that you're enjoying him. Maybe he'll learn to sleep in on weekends? I hope your work evaluation goes well. They always stress me out.

Riley is doing fine. I don't like him waking me up early on the weekends, but what can ya do. He is just so funny. He makes me laugh. I am glad he is a very happy dog.

How is Riley Kim?

Hi everyone. I am slowly weaning my mom from me being with her almost every day. So that has left some time to enjoy kayaking. Need to walk Riley more, but he has been outside more as I am spenging more time outside.
I got a new boss st work, so far so good. I couldn't stand my last boss..she drove me nuts. I am also waiting for my yearly evaluation from her. She is 2 weeks past due. She should have done it prior to May29th. Don't know why she has delayed it, but if I have to do my job on a timely manner, she should be. She scheduled me for tomorrow. Not happy about this situation. Nothing more going on. Congrsts Kelly on your wins.

Man, being offline at work really cuts into my SP time! Sorry I've been AWOL . . . it's been super busy between work and dog shows over the past several weeks. This past weekend I took the puppies to Vallejo, CA for a dogshow called Woofstock. We had a great time - JT earned his American championship title and Charlotte got a bit closer.

Thanks! I've been snapping photos a few times a week now . . . mostly of the dogs running and playing. I think that's just about my favourite thing to take pictures of.

Seeker and I started obedience classes last night. We've done a set before, but that was a year ago and we were both pretty rusty. She was very happy to be working, and we had fun. She is going to be a great performance dog when she's all trained up!

The key is to use a no-pull harness . . . that's why I recommended the Freedom or the Easy Walk. When the dog pulls, it tightens in the front and causes the dog to turn slightly towards you, which eases the pressure on the leash. They can work really well, and save your shoulder too.

I am sure he will get there Kim ,many people get a dog who have no idea you will soon have Riley being a good dog for you.

I do have a harness and use it on the walks. Not sure what kind it is. I may have another and can chk to see if it fits. I think he needs socialization.

Kelly has a good idea Kim a no pull harnessand maybe some training classes.I think Riley has a good home for him.

You might need to take him to some training classes so he learns to behave for you on walks. That might help. Also, you could use a no-pull harness (Easy Walker or Freedom harness) so that if he pulls, he's not as strong and is easier to control.

It doesn't bother me that he doesn't like kids, but when we go out for walks, he lunges and barks. He is very strong and i would hate to see something happen. Also there are kids next door, but there dad has told them not to get close. Riley is fine with their dad. I don't have kids come to my house.

Does it matter that much that he doesn't like kids Kim?As long as he is happy with you I don't recall you mentioning a lot of children going through your home.My father's cousin had a cocker spaniel named Blackie that she adored back in the 60's so I was quite small and she said he didn't like kids but he loved me it turned out he did not like boisterous kids and I was a quiet bookish child who loved dogs.It fascinated her that this dog who growled at most children would come over and sit beside me and allow me to pet him while I readAs he got more accustomed to me he would clamber up onto chairs or sofas beside me and he continued to do that until he died and I was only about ten when he died and I was as broken hearted as Laura.

Sorry i haven't been on in a while. My mom is not doing well being alone, although she is in assisted living and there is always some one around for assistance. My sister and I have been going every day to ck on her. Some nights i didn't get home until 10pm and have been exhausted.

Riley has mad himself at home. He sleeps in my bed with me, which at least he doesn't hog the bed. He is very quiet for most part. I found he does not like kids and maybe that is why he was surrendered.

I think it might just be you and I Cheri.
