Hi Everyone! Just found this group and I desperately need to work more on my strength training.

I just turned 64 a few weeks ago; Yes, I'm a Scorpio. emoticon

I absolutely refuse to fall into anyone's silly ideals that just because I am older, means that life stops. I always walk when I can and I usually outdo most folks 20+ years younger than me.

Just because we have a vehicle, doesn't mean that we must always drive it, right? I walk whenever I can, even in light rain (short walks only, in the rain :) ).

Here's to being older. We are better with age!

I'm 60, and new here. I really need to make weight lifting more of a constant in my life.
It's not that I dislike it, it's more that I give my time over to cardio, over weight training.

Do you ladies use free weights? Do you work out at a gym, or at home?

I am 65 and have been strength/resistance training for several years now. It's my preferred fitness training method.

I will not complain about aging because we have no control over that, but, none of us should allow our bodies to decay/rot which is all voluntary. It is up to each of us to do three things: exercise, use good nutrition, and commit to something or someone that brings us joy daily for the rest of our lives. (excerpt from Next Year Younger For Women book). My new motto!

Anyone else here over 60? I'll be 65 in November.

I'm not consistent yet with strength-training, but find that muscles soreness after ST can take quite a few days to subside. Also, at my age, a feeling of discomfort in my body can worry me more than it did when I was younger.
