Whoa! Moment of clarity! My excuse for not using the assisted pullup machine as much as I'd like is that I don't have one at home. But I DO have resistance bands!

Woo hoo! Thanks for that idea, DAWNGW!

I am quite restricted as to what type of exercise I can do because of degenerative disc disease. No weights.

You should give Crossfit a try! It's definitely a variety of intense exercises, but the coaches are trained to help every different level of ability, and it should be for everyone. I started out a year and a half ago, and I couldn't even do proper squats and needed a bench to help... I still can't do a pull-up without resistance bands, I step-up on the boxes instead of jumping, etc. But I still get a very intense great workout. And I LOVE any of the strength training that comes with almost every class. The camaraderie is the best. It's like, you all suffer through the workouts together and become friends LOL. Try it!!

I'd definitely go for it! I've seen many elderly people join CrossFit (late 70's and 80's) do some awesome workouts on Instagram that's scaled to their ability.

There's a place that does Crossfit in the area. Wondering what people think about it, any concerns, especially for lower back issues and people with arthritis. Is this even doable? I'd like to try it, but am not up to keeping up with twenty somethings.... am assuming you go at your own pace and that it is not a competition however.

Crossfit appeals to me because not only is it intense, it does a variety of exercise and isn't all the same/same sort of things.

let me know what you think!
