I can but I find them too easy, but floor push ups too hard. Finding furniture that is sturdy but in between is a challenger.

For some reason I am not a fan of modified pushups (on knees) they don't feel right.

It is a good idea though, I really should work in some pushups!

Thank you both so much for responding. At home nothing that would count towards equipment, but I have stuff laying around that I can use.

ALP1976, I couldn't not get the link to work. It took me to youtube, but just their generic page nothing in particular. :(.

NancyAnne- that sounds like great set, I will try it this week.

Grab a couple of light cans and do a giant set of what I call "Shoulder 48's":

8 each, with no rest in-between-
Lateral raises
Upright Rows
Front raises
Shrugs
Bent-arm lat raises
Shoulder presses.

When you are done, you will have done 48 reps.

Repeat twice, letting your shoulders rest a minute or two between sets.

Do this twice a week, increasing the weight of the cans as you feel able.

What equipment do you have at your disposal? Do you have anything like dumbbells? If not you can do some bodyweight exercises to build up your shoulders. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEgq

If you have dumbbells you can start light and do some overhead presses, lateral raises and things like that, if not use some milk jugs or soup cans.

Hey Ladies!

So over time my shoulders have gotten weaker. This is making it hard to do things like plank, pushups and helping DH with renovations (holding the electric drill above my head, lifting and holding wall cabinets up etc).

So what exercises can I do to work on this while my gym is being renovated?
