Thanks ladies!

I watched the video. I laugh at the notion of eating Poptarts like people think! Diet or not, I try not to eat such processed food... If I can't pronounce the ingredients, I typically don't eat it. Portion control is key for me...I have to count or measure EVERYTHING, or else I eat far too much of it.

I'll have to check out FitBit some more. I've heard mixed reviews but it sounds like it works great for you GYMRAT54! Thanks!

Had to look this up... IIFYM = If it fits your macros

I have not heard of this, but I, too, have tried watching what I eat and like you, have had trouble losing the weight, until I got a FitBit.

The Fitbit has a feature none of the other tracking "tools" I've ever had. It's not enough to just track your intake of the calories in the food you eat or the percentage of the macros or nutrients you eat. If you don't know how many calories your body is really burning to compare with how many calories you taking in, how can you possibly know if your calories burned are more than the intake.

The FitBit has a food tracker where you log in the food you eat (calories in). The FitBit not only tracks how many steps you take a day, it tracks how many calories your body burns (calories out) over the course of the day. Thus, you can compare how many calories you take in to how many calories you burn.

It wasn't until I knew just how many calories I was actually burning (which was less than I thought) to the calories I was eating that made me realize....I may have eating the right stuff .....but I was eating more than I should. Once I cut back on how much I was eating by cutting down my portion sizes, not my percentage nutrients or macros....under the calories burned...then I was able to see the weight loss.

In other words, I thought my body was burning more calories than it really was. I thought my body was burning all those calories I was taking in and then some. I was wrong. This FitBit showed I was taking in more calories than my body was burning and thus explained why i wasn't losing weight.

Just telling you what worked for me...

I avoid certain ingredients, but I basically eat what I want now via portion control. I have been looking into IIFYM and the best source of info I've found so far is from BioLayne. Check out his background and his video. He also trains mean and looks awesome.

What kind of diets do you all follow? I'm really interested in starting IIFYM, because simply monitoring my calories isn't cutting it right now. I've seen 0 loss, though I've been eating clean and within my calorie range and I've been exercising daily.

And if you do have experience with IIFYM, I'd love to hear about it and get some tips on how to start!
