Hi, I'm Mollie. Been a member of this team for a while, but I'm logging back on to SP for the first time in forever and thought I'd reintroduce myself, see how the group has changed, etc. I'm a 27 y/o vet tech with a husband and an almost-2-year-old. Trying to find the time and motivation to change my life in positive ways (fitness, healthy eating habits, etc.) is somewhat difficult. I'm happy this group exists and hope I can meet some new local people, make new friends, and stay motivated!

Hey There, My name is Carol and I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. From the fourth grade until I was 18 I lived in Duquesne Heights. I'm really excited to be a member of this club. I'm at my goal weight, having lost 114 lbs. in 6 months. I hope I can be of some help to other members of the club.

Oh that's too funny about the Cleveland game!! Great idea to do anything you can while watching a game or TV show!

I used to do walking lunges, squats, planks, work with dumbells. It kills me that I let myself go. I need to get back to it! So far I've only done my elliptical for 30 mins since I started 2 days ago.

I agree, there is so much you can do at home. Last year I hung a heavyweight punching bag in my basement! I've used it a few times. It's amazing how much you work up a sweat hitting that thing!

I'm not a gym person either. I find that it's easy to do strength training at home just using dumbbells and body weight exercises. There are lots of videos with short 10-ish minute workouts to get you started. Also, I like to do strength training when I'm watching TV. A 30-minute sitcom is typically broken into three segments that you can designate the time for upper, core and lower body. Or during the Steeler games, I do different exercises for different events (touchdowns, punts, etc.). I do lunges for turnovers... after the Cleveland game, I could barely walk.

Hello Fellow SPARKPEOPLE in the Burgh! emoticon My name is Kelly, I'm 43 stay at home mom/student. I live in the South Hills.

I just joined 2 days ago. So far so good. I really love this site and wish I heard of it sooner! I'm still trying to get my footing with the use of this site. The tools are awesome. I love how everything I have typed in the Nutrition tracker has come up so far. So awesome!

I have a big issue with the scale number so I refused to step on it and see how bad it's gotten. I estimated my starting weight and will get on scale in one week. I pray that it is less than my estimate!!

I used to be in excellent shape, until I began school 4 years ago. I gained the freshmen 35! emoticon School isn't the only reason behind the gain but sitting around more with my nose in books certainly hasn't helped me physically and of course the snack attack while studying! Ugh!

For exercise I've been doing 30 mins on my home elliptical/walking my dog. I do belong to LA Fitness but haven't been there in over a year. I enjoy weight training and plan to start that back up again soon.

I also got a pedometer tracker on my phone to see that I get in the recommended "10,000" steps daily. That's been a bit harder than I imagined. Today I clocked in 8,000. But it definitely has me moving more!

Well tomorrow is day 3, so far so good. I already feel better just from the water and the movement!
