That's good idea for Freecycle and Cheepcycle!

Think soon I will post my clothes on there as well.

And give it time...those jeans will fit before you know it!

Mrdpoling - Look in Yahoo groups and see you if you have any Freecycle groups in your area. Sometimes people are giving away clothes that they can't wear any longer. Might be a good way for you to get some newer clothes for yourself.

I got myself all depressed today because I couldnt fit into some jeans yet that I have been trying to get into. I have only lost like 13lbs but they just dont want to go on comfortably. They are the same size as my normal jeans but I guess are cut different. I started feeling a little on the discouraged today as well. I'm sticking to my exercise plan and my eating plan and I am loosing. I guess I just want to see a difference; I don't yet. My family says they can see it in my face; I don't see it.

i am down to two pair of pants that still fit but even they are getting loose now. As for shirts, I have 4 or 5 that I can still wear but the others are going to have to get folded up and put away.

I am kind of worried about the idea of when i can no longer wear anything I own now 'cause i cannot aford to buy new clothing right now. Hopefully when that happens I will be small enough to find something to wear at Goodwill.

I do know that for every 9 to 10 lbs., you drop one dress size. I'm not sure how accurate that is, but when I worked as a truck driver I lost 30 lbs. in one month, and I had to keep getting smaller uniforms within that month. My bosses weren't exactly pleased by that since they provided the uniforms.

Well, for me....and I can't believe I'm admitting this...I'm not going down a pants size yet simply because I should have been buying a pants size bigger to begin with--lol. You know how your old pants just kind of stretch with you after a while...that is exactly what mine had done. If I had tried to purchase new ones in that same size...they would have bben too small.
Now, I am happy to say...I am wearing my same pants...but they fit nicely.

You are going to do great! Keep doing your best and it will pay off.

Each person loses at the right pace/place for themselves. I notice the first place I start losing is in my collarbone area of all places.

Debc711 - if you've started exercising a lot, you aren't doing anything "wrong" - you're probably adding muscle mass while losing fat. Muscle mass is more compacted than fat - so you could be losing a lot of inches while not releasing the pounds. But then something magical will kick in - all that muscle will burn a lot more fat and then it'll be dropping that much quicker. You just have to give your body the time to build the foundation.

Good luck to everyone!

But you know what I've noticed about me? I now have rolls & I'm pretty excited. I had gotten to that fat stage where really my stomach was flat technically because it was just one big roll. NOW that I'm losing again, I have 2 rolls. I'm excited!

I started losing weight in my face and shoulder area first so it took a long time before pants got too big. As it is now my legs are like 3 sizes smaller than my stomach so I wear a lot of skirts. I just have not gone down that much in the lower area and most of my pants were stretch knit things to begin with so they fit through several size ranges.

I'm short so one thing I did notice about the elastic waist pants is that they seemed to be getting longer. They still 'fit' in the waist, but as the stomach pushing them out got smaller they seemed to be getting longer!

This information is very helpful. I'm 4'11" myself. I have noticed a change in my clothes after losing 14 lbs. However, once I started exercising it seems that the lbs aren't dropping as much as they were before. What am I doing wrong?

I am also very short and this is good information for me, very encouraging. I started at 270 and 4'11" so I am a very round person right now. I've been on this system for almost a week now and have lost 6 lbs. Small victories!

I think that we don't really see the weight loss as quickly when we're really overweight because 10 -15 lbs has to spread around further. I haven't been able to weight myself as my scale isn't working properly, but I do notice it in my face (gravity), chances are I've lost weight elsewhere, but it won't show for a while.

Ok, this may seem weird but have you noticed a difference at the top of you? I seem to see a difference from the top down. I loose in my face, then my chest, then my waist, etc.Look again, you may be like me.

I also think each body is different - I'm struggling losing pounds, but I've been doing a lot of exercise and I've change clothing as a result, even though I've lost almost nothing.

Thank you for the information. I think it's good to set realistic expectations, and now I have a good sense of when to expect a size change.

Last time I lost weight it was over 30 pounds before I could go down a size.

I was pretty discouraged, until my Mom said to me that I was bursting out of the larger size before I started to lose weight. So for me I think I should have been wearing a larger size all along. But like most of us I was in denial.

Good Luck!

It took me over 30 lbs before I went down a size. I am short, don't know if this made a difference or not. I started at 280. The next size down was about 25 lbs later, but I think the next size down will be around 20.

When I weighed in the 110's, 5-7 pounds made a size difference for me. emoticon

I understand too! I wear mostly stretch clothing which I'm sure is why there hasn't been that much of a change, but I can see it in other ways like my arms look "fitter" and a bit more muscular because of the exercising I've been doing and I see it a bit in my face. So maybe you have to see if there are other things besides clothes that are changing that you can see! Hang in there!

Hi Cosmos,

Yes I've had that happen to me as well. I don't know the reason why but I do know that sometimes happens. Water weight doesn't always make room in our pants unfortunately. You will soon feel and see the difference, just keep on going ! You can do this.

Hang in there !

I started out at 263 lbs and I'm now down to 249 lbs. My pants all fit the same. Granted, most of them are elastic waist, and my jeans are stretch jeans, but I do have 3 pairs of fitted pants I wear regularly.

Of course I want instant results, but I'm realistic enough to know it will be a long journey. If I started out at 160, losing 14 lbs would likely put me in another size pants.

Any feedback from someone who's been there?
