Thanks for the recognition. Tell your hubby to use portion control Or you do it for him. We have gotten away from traditional portions due to the food industry. You need to check labels real close. Sorry to hear your sisters condition. MY Mother her Mother , one of my sisters andd one of my brothers all have diabetes 2 and all of us are overweight and working on getting thos pounds off and the glucose in control. emoticon
Good eating habits will make the difference. Good luck with your progress. emoticon

Bonwil, that is good you are keeping your blood sugars in check, that is so hard for my husband, he has to really watch his carb intake. But keep it up, my sister is almost blind because she has pretty much ignored her blood sugar for years, and now its catching up with her. And by that time its to late to go back and do it right.

18 Days and my glucose is still down. Highest reading 128 and all the rest were lower and most below 100. I am finding it hard to avoid the carbohydrates that cause me problems but am working on it I have managed to keep them below 150 all this time too. emoticon

exercise is still a little challenging but I am determined to get healthier. emoticon

Today has been a very low day. I did not sleep well up at 4 am. Hurting all over. mostly feet and shoulders. Blood sugar was up a little and when I went to take my morning pills I had not taken my pills last night (might be why I did not sleep well). I remember taking my insulin. I have been cold all day even though it has warmed up some. Also have had a runny nose all morning, finally took an antihistamine and that is working. Maybee I'll sleep tonight. emoticon

Great news I have exercised every day for 5 in a row. emoticon It is getting easier but I have recently found out it takes 66 days to establish a habit and make it feel just like breathing. I am going to see. My attitude is changing and that is a first step.

My wish for you is progress in anything you are endeavoring to do. emoticon

Bonwil....WOW!!!! I am so happy for you that your numbers are doing so well! That is great! Don't worry too much about the LDL right now. Mine was up too in January after being perfectly normal and my doctor said when I go back in June if it's not down he will consider a statin. I spoke with my husband's cardiologist when he went in January and she said it could be from eating more protein than I used to. Sometimes our bodies just have to adjust to our new eating lifestyle. Just watch what you are eating like I am. It is what it is right? We know we are eating healthy and doing the best for our bodies than we have in years. It will all work out in the end. The doctor called this morning with good news August 2012 my A1C was 8.6 and this week it is 7.7. He was happy and so am I. BUT my LDL was up and he wanted me to consider script for that. I refused stating my progress with My recent food changes and my starting to exercise finally. emoticon

It is so cold out today I am going to have to use a video today. Temp 32 and snowing and a very brisk wind, chill factor according to radio makes it 22. Too cold for these aching joints.

Glucose still down (95) this morning. My stress level is up due to fraudulent use of my debit card. emoticon

Thought for today: When I step on the scale, I will accept the numbers as what I weigh, not what I am worth. emoticon

I decided to ck my sugar before lunch today and it was 165 so that is not great but is better than where I have been in the past. also have been on the gazelle and taken a short walk so have 30 minutes in for today. Thank you for the encouragement. Hope this finds you in a positive frame of mind and enjoying your day.

Wow, I love reading this, glad to see everyone is starting to get their blood sugars under control, sooo important. After changing insulin pumps, mine went wacky, but now I've got them under control, but for changing the basal for my afternoon bs which has been dropping to 39, (before the changes). At least now I have them up to 51 in the afternoon, still low, but I'm waiting to see what this new change in the rate will bring.

Congrats, everyone, keep up the good work and those blood sugars will keep coming down!

And Bonwil2, think of it as something other than exercise, make it fun. Even walking, if that's possible, is great exercise. But enjoy it, I would never have believed it, but I actually am enjoying my exercise in the morning, and do it every day of the week now. Never would have imagined that 2 months ago! :)

That's wonderful! I too have been working hard to bring my glucose levels down. I have been 300+ for the longest time and since I started SP I have not gone over 200 yet. I am now ranging between 100-150. I even had one day under 100! I find the more I exercise the lower it goes. My goal is to get off my meds once and for all.

My blood sugar was down this morning. By down I mean below 200. It was 195 not good but definitely better. I limited my late night snack. That will need to be another goal to start working on. emoticon
