I weigh myself in the morning and at night. I actually think this helps me to stay on track. I am changing my weight daily to reflect that day's weight. If you find you are discouraged by weighing daily, maybe you can change to weekly? The scale is finicky. I know it will sometimes seem "stuck." I just remind myself to keep my mind ("thinking") set on my daily goals and not the "feelings" around my weight. From experience, I know I will plateau. I just have to hang in there so that I can see movement in the preferred direction. .....down. :-) Focus on behavior/action... not feelings around weight.

I'm addicted to the scale. I have to get off the mindset that i need to weigh myself everyday. I get so discouraged by doing this. Especially when you work so hard and do the right things and you see little progress. I don't know if i could weigh in once a month. Any suggestions?

I love the idea of setting schedules for weigh in. I would like to start walking again. Now that holidays are over, I need to get back on track. But haven't started yet. Grrrr... So I'm making a schedule to walk first thing starting Monday and walk daily during weekdays at least.

I want to try a different system this time. On the 1st of each month, I am going to weigh in. ( even if it is close to my weekly weigh in day) I will be sharing with my accountability partner my goals for each month. My plan is to keep goals as simple as possible and to cover exercise\food\weigh-in and check in.

So for January, here we go:

First Weigh-in: 150 pounds

Weigh-in Day: Monday Morning

3 Days per week of 10 minutes cardio (bike/treadmill etc.)

Daily - log all meals

1 - special treat per week

5 Days per week of check in in with my accountability partner

Hey y'all...I have so many goals and dreams in my journey, but will only list a few. Unlike the past few times I've been on Spark, I'm going to do it this time, one step at a time.
1. Workout more often
2. Increase my cardio A LOT!!
3. Eat only healthy foods and try new things
4. Drink more water
5. Journal exercises, foods, and thoughts.

Gym goals:
1. Bench press over 300 pounds by the end of winter
2. Do a pull-up. (I've NEVER done one in my 46 years, not even as a child)
3. Get used to cardio equipment
4. Start squatting and lunges
5. Core exercises!!!

2. Continue tracking activity with Fitbit and increase steps to 5000 per day
3. Increase intentional exercise from 10 minutes daily to 20 minutes
4. Journal

It's not about how bad you want it...it's about how hard you're willing to work for it

I've got a few specific goals for January:

1. No alcohol. Wine at night makes it too easy to snack. And since I don't drink soda, it should encourage me to drink even more water.

2. No fast food. The past few months have been busy and we've been stopping for fast food or ordering pizza way too often. This goal will help my wife and son to eat more healthily, too.

3. Continue to workout at least 5 days a week to include kicking off Zombies Run 5K training. I've worked through some of it before and it'll be a fun way to get back into running.

My goals for 2015 are to lose weight, eat better and improve my overall health. I want to accomplish something new this year, so I will be doing a triathlon in August. I enjoy working out but have a terrible time with my diet. I want to work harder this year on improving my eating habits.

That is a great goal. I know I've lost muscle in the last few years. Even when I'm working out and looking at the calorie count, I tell myself it isn't all about the calories I'm burning. Its about gaining back some muscle too. Once I've got some of my other goals on task perhaps I'll start strength training more too.

Nice that your husband is with you for goals. I told mine some of my goals this morning and he laughed. That's ok though, I'm not going to let it derail my plans. After I asked why he laughed he said he'll support me 100% and then went into how he thinks I should go about it. Funny he has no clue what he says doesn't help me; the way he goes about it.

I told him I'm different then him. It is more difficult to lose 40 pounds then to lose 10. Its worse when you throw in back and health problems too. He said to me maybe the way my body is, is just how it should be with my age. I know that thought is just wrong.

For the first time I get that he doesn't mean anything bad, he just doesn't understand- Keeping this in mind is another one of my goals.

My goal is to truly incorporate exercise into my healthy lifestyle! I joined Spark People in Nov. and have really enjoyed using the website. I've got tracking my food down to a habit, now I'm going to build on the momentum and exercise! I've been stuck for too long....No excuses anymore - a Planet Fitness just opened in my town, and the best part is - it's literally down the street!! Time for me to step up my game! Happy New Year everyone!!

2014: I started exercising I officially clocked in 73 visits to the gym but enough unofficial exercising at home via videos to push me well over the 100 mark. I found a new doctor, got back on my diabetes meds and have seen my BFS steadily drop. I have yo-yo'd between the same 10 pound range.

2015: I will to increase my exercise by 50%, officially going to the gym a minimum of 110 times. Last year, I hit a 14 week 3x a week gym streak. I will extend that streak to a minimum of 18 weeks. Already on track for that beginning this week! I will continue to decrease my BFS. My biggest hope is to get it in the 90-120 range on a regular basis. I will break past the 10 pound mark. Looking for 15 lbs. Anything above that is gravy.

I want to keep it realistic. I did last year and it work. I hit the majority of my goals!!!

Ah, the new year, when we all look back at what we wanted to accomplish but didn't and look forward to what we would like to accomplish in the New Year. I have not really set up any goals for the new year, most are just vague ideas of what I would like to do, the top of the list is to find a different job.

HULDEVON - What do you do with your gear when you get home from work? Do you have two sets of gear? My suggestion is to put your bag of gear in the car before you go to bed at night, so it is in there when you get to work the next day. Hope this idea helps!

emoticon I would love to lose 42 pounds by June! That's my goal. Still over weight but not obese by 8 pounds.
I think at our age strength training is important and I should add that to my goals for the year.
My husband and I are also looking at 5k, 10, & 1/2 as goals for this year!

For the last month I have been trying to get a workout in at lunchtime. Normally I eat at my desk while I'm working. Last month I asked the boss if I could take off from 11-12 and clock out so I can workout. I have back issues and think it could help. Wasn't sure what the boss would say since I'm part time and part timers are only allowed to check out for 1/2 hour. I was shocked when he said to go ahead! So when my work load allows I started to work out for 1/2 on an ancient stair stepper at work, sauna and stretch for about 15 min, shower and get back to work.

I so look forward to this time of day it breaks up looking at a computer all day. It is like my own private gym too, cause no one uses the equipment or sauna! When I put the water onto the rocks and it sizzles, my stress seems to drift away. A few times I forgot my gear and was so upset when noticing it as I stepped out of the car.

I have plenty of goals set up, but I think one of the top ones would be to remember my gear so I keep exercising. If I can make a life style change in this area, I think in the future it will be easier for me to expand the change in other directions.

To get under 200 lbs by focucisng on 5 percent of it at a time and for me that would be 12 lbs I need to lose to do the first 5 percent. After I get under 200 lbs my second goal and final goal is to weigh 165 - 175 lbs which I carry well and doesn't feel to big or to small for my height and frame. emoticon

My goal is to get back in the 130lbs range. I'd lost 20lbs last year and just needed to lose 20 more, but have gained my 20lbs back instead. I want to be down 40lbs total in time for Spring 2015. I'd LOVE to lose at least 8lbs a month...just to see the scale move every week would be great.

My goal weight is 190 or a body fat percentage around 17% (according to Army standards as I'm an Army Reservist and a Dept of the Army Civilian).
In August I was 240 & 27%. As of today I'm 221 % 24%. I'm proud of my progress but have a long way to go.

My goal long term is to 1. hit my goal weight and maintain it; and 2. run a 5k.

I am presently having trouble with wellness goals for myself because of all the stress my 13 yr old is putting me through right now. I do need to get back on track with exercise and eating healthier.

My goal is to get through the weekend without over indulging. Having a girls weekend out of town and it is easy to let loose and not stick with my overall goals!

Be the person you want to be and dance like no one is watching!

Simple goal this week, stop eating chips and sweets.

My goals
1. Drink more water
2. Add more fibre to my diet
3. Up my protein intake
4. Train for a Half Marathon (I have already signed up for one...What was I thinking?!)
5. Add strength training to my workout routine. Sure Zumba is fun but it doesn't build muscle.

Number 5 is the hardest for me. I don't care for strength training but I know it is good for me so I will have to suck it up and do it.

I have the strength in me to do this.
