I don't blame him. And overall, glasses really are better. Not just for the extension of personality, but they require very little cleaning and maintenance, since you don't need to touch your eyes to wear them there is a decreased risk for eye infections, and they are cheaper in the long run since they don't need to be replaced as often. They can also adjust the amount of light entering the eye for optimum comfort and vision, which contacts can't do at all. If you get photochromic lenses they can block 100 percent of UV rays and protect not only the inside of the eyes, but the exterior of the eye and eyelids as well!

He ended up throwing in the towel. Poor guy kept trying but was really frustrated by it all.
I take him in tomorrow to get glasses.

Yeah. He and I have always had bad eyesight and in glasses since we were very small.
He actually couldn't get them out last night, so we'll have to try again today when he comes home from school. Poor guy.

He got them in and out and in yesterday morning, so I was hopeful. Let's hope he doesn't get gunshy about it. With eyesight as bad as his, they're really much better than glasses.
I'm sure he'll get used to it.

Good for him! I got my glasses in about 10th grade and have been way too scared to try contacts. The idea of touching my eye just grosses me out. Plus I've heard they can roam and end up behind your eye? That's, like, nightmare worthy. I'll just stick with my pretty glasses and have fun picking out new frames every year or so. I've seen some pretty cute designer contacts I'd love to try, though, if I ever get over it. Like cat eyes! That could be a fun April Fools prank for you. Switch his contacts with Halloween ones, see if he notices or if goes around with, like, zombie eyes all day.

My oldest got contacts yesterday. That's been fun for him to adjust to (total sarcasm). He's enjoying the improved vision, but, not as thrilled about getting them in and taking them out.

I am allergic to peanuts, which is a sad, sad thing because I. Love. Peanuts. I love peanuts and peanut butter. I love nuts in general. My favorite dessert is basically peanut butter anything. I guess being allergic to all my favorite things helps me avoid eating them, though. It helps at potlucks, too, because people put peanuts in lots of crazy places so if anything has nuts in it - or even looks like it MIGHT have nuts in it - I just don't eat it.

Oh no, that's so awful!
Glad you ended up with a peaceful time of it to watch.
Oooh, I like blizzard's okay, but, my favorite was always the peanut buster parfait. 710 calories. I need to find someone to split one with me. lol.

WOW, that's a great milestone, reaching a weight you hadn't been since you were 15. Nice.

There was a horrible accident on the interstate when we were going to our spot. A semi hit a car and ran over another car. 6 people were injured and another died. It was awful. It also blockaded traffic for an hour, so we didn't get to where we'd planned to go. We did end up in a little town I'd never heard of, on a dirt road surrounded by fields and corn, watching the eclipse with two local families. It was beautiful and so tranquil - much more peaceful than where we were headed, I am sure. We had lunch at a diner in the neighboring town. Unfortunately I splurged on a Dairy Queen blizzard, misremembered the calories and got the wrong size, and am now up 5lbs. I was hoping to be under 200 by my family reunion but I don't think that's going to happen now.

I did call my doctor, though, and have them look as far back into their records as they could without my having to order records from their storage facility. As a senior in high school I weighed 214lbs - I weigh less than that now, even with the 5lb gain! As a freshman, the oldest their office records have, I weighed 204. Before my gain I was 207. I was basically at a weight I hadn't been since I was 15!

We had a great spot, thanks!

Lots of stress though, my ex manipulating our son and trying a screaming match with me (it's cool, he didn't notice me videotaping it).
That DID get me down into the 170s for the first time since my 20's though, so, silver lining.

Haven't had the heart to cook for myself, so, I got some meals from the deli to get me through until I can work myself up to it again (they're calorie marked, so I'm assuming pretty healthy... and on clearance, of course, otherwise I find them overpriced).

My niece had her first day of Preschool on Monday. My brother and SIL said there were lots of tears...from them!! No tears from her. She let them take a picture of her on the steps and just marched right into the school! I was supposed to have this week off from school but for some reason class started early, but I am still hoping to have them come by this weekend for a "first week of school" dinner. I bought her a bunch of fun toys to keep at my place (a kiddie trampoline, a kiddie pool, a big tub of chalk, a 500pc connecter toy box, a coloring book, a jump rope, playdough, and Candyland) so she can run around and play to her hearts content. I was thinking of baking some Italian chicken, making a BLT salad, and a fruit salad, and some black bean brownies for dessert. I might get some ice cream to put on the brownies, too.

We're in the "path of totality" so hubby and I both took the day off work to go out of town to one of the viewing events. I have a flower decorating class with my grandma that night, so I still have a "curfew", but it should be a fun day. I hope you get a good spot!

Kids made it through their first day of school.
Older son freshman year of high school, and younger son 3rd grade.

The oldest is blind like me, so he's had glasses for years. The younger one is only a little near-sighted so just got his first pair. He looks so adorable.

Hoping to get down to my cousin's place on Monday for good eclipse viewing.

I have some songs to sing in the shower playlists on spotify, for when I don't want to terrify some of my cats with hard rock, K-Pop, or rap.

My boss tried to convince the firm to let us go to a conference this month, but it's in New York and it's $400 per person for a ONE NIGHT conference, so they said no. There's another one closer to us happening in October, though, so she's going to try again for that one. I hope we get permission for that one - it's the weekend after my birthday! It'd be like a mini-vacation for my birthday emoticon

Oooh, that sounds pretty darned nice!

I was invited to speak at a conference, but, had to turn it down due to the ex-husband stuff going on... but, I've still had to cover the event on social media over the past few days... it was TORTURE going through the twitter feed from the attendees snapping pics of all of the food and drink (it's a really well-catered event).

Continuing the topic of brie, lol, my husband took me out for tapas for our anniversary. Everything was amazing but the two best in my opinion were these baked dates wrapped in ham, and fresh bread with brie and garlic cloves. So good. My mouth is watering a little just remembering the meal.

lol, I hadn't had it in ages. My soon-to-be-ex-husband used to make me do brie wheels for dinner for me and him. Seriously, a full package of croissant rolls or puff pastry, and a whole wheel of brie. For dinner. And he always cut everything exactly in half. I shudder to think how many calories I consumed in those meals.

I love pears on pizza... but I've used gorgonzola with that... wonder if I could pull it off with some brie?

Back on solid foods again. Not feeling like eating... ex-stress fun stuff.

Had some avocado toast yesterday for breakfast and a turkey and brie sandwich for lunch. So, still pretty soft. I think I'm fairly safe, as long as I don't get anything too pokey like chips or something.

Good. You can do it!!! (slowly and carefully)

So, I've had a toothache (cause really, life's been too easy on me lately and I need something to keep it exciting). My doc couldn't get me in so I saw another guy in the practice.
I lost two crowns back in 2011 and couldn't afford to replace them (despite working two jobs, thanks soon-to-be-ex-husband for that). They slowly broke apart and finally stopped hurting.
but, they started hurting again a few weeks ago. I had to recover from my ex stealing all our assets, but, I couldn't keep ignoring it anymore, so I got in today.

They had to pull one, but, can save the other. I have REEEEEAlly deep roots, apparently. Lots of yanking and special tools and exasperation from the doc and the assistant. lol.

Finally all out. The next couple days will stink, but, I'm looking forward to being able to eat without pain.

This week is gonna be a lot of carbs. lol.

I was able to use my arm a bit in last nights workout. I just stretched a bit mostly - when the video had us lift our arms up or put them to the side, nothing fast. But I did it! I have a massage tomorrow that I am hoping will help with the remaining pain. I really hope it does, my legs are ready for the break emoticon

Well this wknd didn't go as planned, but it was a good wknd. I'm studying up for a new work assignment. I've got our (hubby & mine) meal preps for the nex few days. IT was a chore as I'm fairly new to meal prepping, but I know it's what I need.

Have a great day!

Since I spent most of yesterday at my therapy appointment and in urgent care, I didn't get around to sorting my clothes. I had to get right to my homework when I got home. I am finishing my homework today, and it's going to take most if not all of the rest of the day. I think what I'll do is bring a bag upstairs to keep by the closet and as I find things that don't fit I can put them in there, that way I am not just returning the too big clothes to the closet.

LOL good luck with that one, Goodfeline. ;)

I meant to be productive this weekend. I got a little shopping in and a little prep cooking, but, no work so far.

My younger son got invited to a friend's house to splash in their kiddie pool, so that was nice. We went over after dinner when the sun wasn't directly overhead.

I hear ya. This has been a busy week for me at work, I am ready for a do-nothing weekend. I am definitely staying inside with how hot it is, but I may try to be productive and do another round through my clothes to get rid of some more stuff. I am already too small for most of the stuff I left in my last purge. My goal is to eventually fit everything of mine into one side of the closet so maybe, just maybe, my husband will stop leaving his clothes on the living room floor.

I bought a brand new coat for this job. Every woman here owns a pea coat, and I had a beat up old coat that made me look like an old polar bear. With the help of a friend whose husband worked at Macy's I saved, used a gift card, and took advantage of a sale to get a really nice pea coat from Macy's at a GREAT discount to help me fit in better (the first time I wore it my husband didn't even recognize me when I left the building!). About a month later and the coat was too big. I will be absolutely swimming in it this winter, so I should probably start saving now for a new one, lol.

I typically donate my clothes to Goodwill, they have a donation center nearby so it's easy for my husband, and I personally know a lot of low income families that shop there so it makes me feel good that my clothes are going to families I might know. I live in a military town, too, so a lot of military and homeschool families shop there. I have considered donating to a women's shelter that takes clothing donations - but I don't know that my husband would be willing to do the extra work it takes to get out there and do that when Goodwill is only 5 minutes away.

That is kind of sad.
I also bought a really nice dressy coat to fit in at my last job (financial services company, bunch of rich folks lol). Only wore it a handful of times before weather got warmer, then I started losing weight. By the next cold day, I was swimming in it! (seriously, first time I went out to a lunch meeting with my team, it was to a country club, and the person at the coat check only handled my beat up leather jacket with the tips of fingers and a mild look of distaste... LOL)

I have donated almost all of my old work clothes, including that coat, to a crisis nursery. They help families in financial and emotional crisis cope, get better jobs and keep their kids out of the foster care system. So, kind of sad for me, but, I'm sure some other working mom will benefit from a boost of confidence in fitting in with nice clothes.

I realized this morning most of it was the jeans. They were the only thing not on sale. The shirts (of which I actually got 6, not 5) were BOGO Free, the bras were BOGO 50%, the panties were 5 for $25, the jewelry was discounted, clearance was BOGO Free. Everything in the store was on sale except for the jeans, basically, so that's what my coupon will help on. They were nearly $200 just by themselves.

I know that feeling. I bought my first swimsuit in ages for my cruise in January. Off-season from a plus specialty store it was super expensive. Like, $120 I think? I had to buy the matching top and bottom pieces as singles and each piece was somewhere between $40 and $60. It was crazy cute though, I got lots of compliments on it. I only wore it the one day and it no longer fits me. Kind of sad.

Ouch... that's a bit of damage, but, sounds like you've hit all the wardrobe staples! Nice work!
~smiles~ It's definitely a different shopping experience now, isn't it?
24 to 14! That's amazing.

I went out bathing suit shopping on Friday. I kept picking up stuff I'd normally look at, and then realizing those styles didn't have my sizes. Then I hunted around. Ended up going with a 2 piece just to get a fit (I'm M on the top and L on the bottom so 1 pieces were not doing well on me). Ended up going for one with a skirt, but, not the longest they had. My loose thigh skin isn't going to kill anyone, so I'm going to try not to freak about covering it up.
I about stroked out when I saw they were all going to run me about $100 (no luck in the cheaper stores, and I figured you get what you pay for, too)... but, after the sale and tax it was $60. I can live with that, I guess, and it's a cute suit.

Giving my old one to my Mom. It's nice and I didn't wear it too many times (which is a shame, no matter the size).

My BFF convinced me to go on a little shopping splurge with her yesterday since the store was having their annual sale. I forgot a coupon that would have saved me more so I will be going back later this week for a reimbursement (either 30% off the purchase or 50% off one item, whichever saves me more), but I spent $447 on 2 jeans, 2 camis, 5 panties, 3 cardigans, 1 skirt, 1 necklace, and 4 bras. I started out in October as a size 24 and 40G and yesterday I bought size 14s and 38Fs. I also wore a size L t-shirt to the store! I am out of the Xs! Unfortunately it means I am also now buying the smallest sizes the store sells in-store. They have SOME smaller sizes online, but I'm pretty much outgrowing(?) their clothes. I've shopped there for about 18 years, where do I go now emoticon

ROFL. That's a fantastic problem to have! Well done!
I picked up a couple bras that fit, but, am still wearing the older larger ones for now... gives me some place to keep my wallet... and groceries. Talk about a cup half empty situation.
emoticon

One benefit of my friend sending me a measuring tape for body measurements is that I could measure myself for new bra sizing (thank you youtube) and ordered a couple cheap ones off Amazon to get me through.

I already need new pants, and I can fit my entire fist inside my bra cup when I am wearing it (with some room to spare) so I think it's reeeally time I buy some new bras. All my camisoles are too big, but I kept about half of them just because tossing basically my entire wardrobe is just too costly. Dang, losing weight is expensive emoticon emoticon

When I am depressed my husband usually encourages me to exercise, and he's started helping me monitor my food. One thing that helped me with exercise, though, is that I'd just get changed into my workout clothes. Making that effort usually was enough to get me to the "Well, I'm dressed for it..." point and I always promised myself that if after 10 minutes I didn't want to keep going I could quit. Allowing myself the out if I really wanted it provided me a challenge, and once I got started and got the endorphins flowing I wanted to beat my own expectations for myself.

I can identify with that.
I'm not sure I'd be any help though... I've gotten into a daily habit in the past 14 months of eating what I eat so even when I'm down and normally would've run off the rails with my food, I'm still eating the same things because it's harder to go off-habit? if that makes sense.
I still have days where I just can't be bothered to work out, even though I normally love it. I don't sweat missing a workout as much as I would sweat going over my calorie budget, though.

Are you being treated for depression or something else that might need more help than just a usual down mood?

So, last year, I had a couple of goals with my kids. Wanted to lose the weight of my youngest (66lbs) as a milestone and the weight of my oldest (114) as an end goal.

www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_jo
ur
nal_individual.asp?blog_id=6272094

So, as I'm getting to my initial goal of 114lbs lost (last weight I was comfortable at 185), I'm thinking about lowering that goal a bit more to get closer to 'normal' range.
SO, I had my oldest get on the scale again today, to see what he weighs today.

126lbs.
If I lost his current weight, that would put me at 172.
Wonder if I did that, I could pick him up like I did his little brother? lol. Wish me luck.

It's the beginning of shark week... wish me also resistance against chocolate and wine.

I bought it to get rid of the ads, I'll admit. The rest of the stuff is really nice, but, the no ads thing is sooooo worth it, with as much time as I spend on the site and app.

I'm due to start TOM in less than a week, and that hungry stuff started two weeks ago... so, Mermaidlife could be right. Another user suggested I was missing something in my diet, which is possible with how little I ate three weeks prior.

On a good note, I haven't felt heart palpitations in awhile, even with all of the stress three weeks ago. Meditating, getting more sleep, and taking the turine and magnesium supplements has potentially helped.

I like my premium account. The lack of ads is nice, it speeds up the site, but I also like the access to the coaches and the extra reports. None of it is necessary to using the site, of course, but they're nice little perks to help me figure some of my quirks out when I am wondering why my body is doing something.

Like right now I am up in weight. I am on my period though, and can't exercise since I somehow hurt myself, so I am going to wait until mother nature has left the building and I can get a few good workouts in before I start worrying too much about my sudden desire to eat everything in sight and the uptick in my weight. I can track my eating trends with the reports, one of them even has a neat table that lists what I eat in order of most to least of a chosen macro, so I can tell this past week has had a higher than normal carb intake. Not unsurprising with the holiday, so I'll need to pay particular attention to that in the next week.

I get that way when I'm ovulating... Sometimes, I really hate being a woman. Paying attention to my cycles has really helped me understand why I feel so hungry some weeks. It hasn't really helped all that much... but I least know why. And yes, summertime brings with it a whole new slew of food cues! Lemonade, ice cream, cookouts, of course, but also so much FRUIT. My grocery list is basically the entire produce department here lately.

...The ads have finally gotten around my AdBlocker extension. Booooooo. Is premium really worth it? I guess it depends on how much I hate ads... I kinda love it when there are McDonald's ads on the app...

I have been feeling that way lately, too. Maybe it's the season change, some biological urge to splurge on the bounty of nature.

Two weeks ago I was low on calories, stressed out with more insane husband stuff, playing out with our youngest. I wasn't stressing on it too much, because when I'd forced myself in earlier low weeks, I'd done it with junk.

BUT, last week and this week, I've been struggling with feeling hungry all the time. I've eaten at the high end of my calorie range and over.
I was hoping getting in more veggies and taking supplements every day would help, but, it hasn't quite yet.
I've pulled back on exercise because I don't want to make myself feel even hungrier.

Not beating myself up, just being aware and trying not to overreact.

It's frustrating because I'm soooo close to being in the 180's, which I haven't seen since I was with my first husband. But, not obsessing over the scale, just trying to focus on getting good sleep and not getting too anxious.

Good luck with the process... that's a very awesome thing! I have been helped so much by people teaching in the community for free, so much respect to everyone willing to give of themselves!

Had a fantastic time yesterday. Aside from the no internet at home impeding my work and my soon to be exhusband yelling and cussing and slamming doors... then telling me he didn't slam the door, he merely 'closed it loudly'. Whatever, I may have cried in the bathroom because I'm so frustrated by this stoopid situation and wish he was out of the house. BUT, my noon meeting was short and sweet and I packed up the kids and went to my mom's for a mini family reunion. We had bbq and fruit and veggies and other snacks and picked some veggies from mom's garden to bring home (she doesn't like them very much, but, grew what my sister and I like).
One of my cousins brought her baby over, so I got some cuddle time. Squee.

I have an interview on Sunday and I am terribly nervous. I am not leaving my job (I love my job), it's for a part-time adjunct professor position at a free university. I won't get paid, but I'll get to give back to the community by helping students who can't afford a more traditional school. They said they were very impressed with my application, but I never do very well in interviews emoticon

I started school at a very traditional college with an EXTREMELY popular football team. It's a very sports oriented school. I only went there to be close to my [now] husband, I had scholarships and recruitment from better schools, but they were on the East coast mostly and I couldn't afford to fly home to visit him. I wasn't the typical athletic sports nut, I didn't really fit into the scene. I transferred to my hubby's school in the metro area near my home (I'd gone to the state capital) and I got some stares but nobody made comments. I even made some friends. It's a much friendlier campus, I think in large part to the huge number of non-traditional students on campus. When I had to transfer to a community college I really found my niche. I was just one of the crowd, there!

I very rarely get any verbal interaction, except for one jerk in the grocery store. And I had someone take a picture of me once. I mostly get stares, but it seems to be in one town in particular! The next town over, I get stared at. But I love the big city (San Antonio, for me). Possibly the least judgmental city I've ever been in. I can do touristy things there, and no one ever stares or says anything rude.

In college the only "catcalls" I got were insults hurled my way about my weight. It's part of why I enjoy the invisibility of this city, so on the one hand the positive attention is a nice change. On the other hand, I am clearly absorbed in my phone and don't want attention so how about leaving a lady alone, huh?

Oh, yeah, I've definitely noticed that change, too. I don't live in the city anymore, so not really catcalls, but, when I walk outside now, some guys will slow down and take a look, you know. It's a little disconcerting, because I'm like preparing for the cat calls and things I used to experience back in college.

... I do most of my stuff on the treadmill inside, where I don't have to deal with it. But, sometimes, when my ex-husband has the car, I walk somewhere and... yeah. Definitely was NOT experiencing that stuff for a few years, and I kind of miss the invisibility in that case.

I was surprised to find myself the focus of some of the photos at a strategic planning meeting a few years ago, but it turns out when you're the type of person to answer the guest speakers question ("What's the number one thing you need to succeed in this field?") with a shout of "ALCOHOL" you get your photo taken during the event. When I switched fields, to a much more male dominated one, I did not appear in any event photos. Even though I was a regular community volunteer representing the company, and won two of the grand prizes at the company Christmas party, my photo didn't show up anywhere. I am back in my original field now, but in a more male dominated sub-specialty. We'll see how it goes now...

When I am taking my afternoon walks I am now getting...not quite catcalls, but attention. It's very uncomfortable. I liked feeling invisible. It makes it very hard to do my walks and I am considering quitting them and either getting up earlier, signing up for a treadmill in the office gym, or exercising extra at home. Double-edged sword of being a woman in this society.

So... I don't know how to feel about this.

The last event I went to in March, I looked at the pictures posted by the hosts of the event and other attendees, and I was pretty visible in most of the pictures, and focused on in a few of them.

But, I just saw someone do a throwback to an event I went to 4 or 5 years ago. I looked at pictured posted by an attendee and noticed something, then looked at pictures posted by the hosts and found the same.
I was not the focus of ANY photos. There were only 3 women there, and the other two were in a big portion of the photos and the focus of a few of them, just as every single man I remember being there were in them, including the one obese guy (who is pretty attractive). I was just off frame in almost every single photograph, because I remember whom I was sitting by.
The only pictures I was actually visible in were the group photos with everyone in them (where, of course, I was in the back, hiding behind a thinner person).

I mean, I want to be mad at the double-standard. My brain is the same as it was 109lbs ago. My personality was always good, that's why I got invited, people LIKE me, people think I contribute positively to my industry (and lets face it, some of the people taking these photos made passes at me)... but, according to these albums, it's almost like I didn't exist.

Our power came back, but we lost it again. So, yay. We still celebrated Father's Day with a grill out with my dad, brother, and FIL (and niece and MIL). We had burgers, fruit, potato salad, deviled eggs, corn, and made s'mores. By the end of the weekend I gained 3lbs even though I stayed in calorie range (I even actually managed to hit 1000-1200 most days, rather than dropping to 800-1000 like I have been) emoticon I think it's because I do almost all my exercise with home videos, so didn't get a lot in while the power was out. We didn't get to walk dogs at the shelter, either, since the tornadoes hit the night before we usually do that.

Something odd I've noticed is I lose more weight on the weeks I don't walk at lunch and have ice cream bars after dinner and/or snacks at work, and tend to gain or fluctuate more on the weeks I walk more regularly and am more diligent about not eating desserts and snacks. That seems odd to me. Isn't lower sugar and more exercise supposed to be good?

Ah, I know how that goes. It's tough when I can't keep checked in really well on SparkPeople, I tend to get derailed without it.

I am trying to hang in there. Being away from sparkpeople and being on the road really made it difficult to stay on track. I gained back a few pounds and I really gotta drop them and reach my first goal of 30 lbs lost.

Yikes, tornadoes are a pain at the very least.

Well, aside from random acts of God, how is everyone? I've been kind of out of the loop for about a week, and I hope you all are well.

My city got hit by tornadoes yesterday, so you might not see me for a few days. We don't have wifi or power, and the cell tower was damaged.

I am trying to eat more calories at lunchtime since I keep falling so far below my minimum goal, but now it just feels like I am eating ALL DAY. It's only ~400 calories but it feels like SO MUCH food. It's about 3:30 now, which is when I usually have a snack (I grabbed popcorn as a treat today), but I am still trying to finish my lunch!

My boss said the same about magnesium working better for him (I'm also taking a turine supplement, too, just to try both).

This is the one my boss said he uses, so I'm starting with the same, just a teaspoon at night in some water.

I might have to try Magnesium. I've been on Melatonin, which helps me sleep in combination with another prescription, but it makes me really drowsy in the morning. How much do you take?

Probably both! Magnesium at night has worked better for me than even melatonin.

You're probably right. He'll eventually get used to it.

I've been sleeping better the past couple nights, feeling more chill. Don't know if it's because of the supplements I've been taking or if it's because my soon-to-be-ex-husband finally filed his papers so we can get on with this process.

I'm not sure that it's jealousy, I want him to lose weight more than he wants to lose weight. I think it's more the dissonance between what he thinks I should look like and how I've changed. He's worried I am going to get too skinny, I've assured him I'm only aiming for a healthy weight for my height, but I think his concern is I will lose the curves he loves so much. He doesn't have to worry about that, though, I am built curvy. I have an hourglass shape, I'll just be a smaller hourglass.

I'm sure it's going to take time for the his mental image of how you should look adjusts to how you do look. lol, yeah, mowing is definitely exercise, drat!
Sounds like he's made good progress on meals.

I found riced cauliflower on sale, as it was about to pass it's sell by date. Into the freezer with you!!! I have added it to taco meats, and sausage scramble and spaghetti. Nice filler that takes up flavors around it, and so handy having it ready in the bag to go.

Oh, that resistance to tracking food! ;)

MissDorkness - Yay! Hooray! Glad to hear the ball is rolling and looking up for you too! I hope he gets a job or at least the judge gives him what for!

GoodFeline - I know I don't know your husband that well, but it sounds like he has a touch of jealousy or worry when he says you're losing weight too fast. I'm glad to hear he is mostly on board though. My husband won't join SP either. He doesn't do ANY social media at all. Maybe I'll get him tracking in a notebook or something.

My husband is concerned I am losing weight too fast - he's now commenting I'm "so small" and "too thin", which I counter with comments about how far I still have to go. But he's mostly on board! He's agreed to exercise with me twice a week - he did it twice and then had to start mowing his parents lawn, so claimed that mowing our lawn and their lawn was exercise, to which I grudgingly agreed. He's also mindfully eating for the most part. He still does frilly coffee and a pastry for breakfast, but he's *eating breakfast*. He's doing better on lunch - he either has my leftovers or buys something at the cafeteria on base, which has many healthy options. And I introduced him to veggie burgers, quinoa, and riced cauliflower as part of dinner and he says as far as he's concerned he could eat them forever. His portions are getting so much better and he's snacking much less. I am so proud of him. He still refuses to join SparkPeople though - I'd really like to get him tracking his food.

YES, his response is filed so we can finally have time scheduled for a mediator.
Ball. rolling. FINALLY.

AND my lawyer says that if he doesn't have a job by the time we see the judge in September, she will flip her lid. ;) FIIIIIIINALLY!!! I've been trying to have him get a job since 2007 and gotten nothing but hostility and backlash (and the honor of working two jobs to pay the bills). Having someone else tell him for a change will be nice.

Oh, went grocery shopping yesterday and Halo Top was on sale again.
Picked up 4 pints, cause I frickin deserve a little splurge to look forward to, tjbm.

My ex has been buying food for himself and the kids but it's all like 99% carbs. I got some vegetables and lean proteins for us.

Still going through the stupid amount of quinoa he bought however long ago. So, last night I made meatless tacos with it. Also some riced cauliflower and peppers. Not bad.

Wow, that sounds slightly more terrifying than what I was doing.
My supplements should arrive today (magnesium and taurine), and I am doing some meditation activities a couple times a day. Also cutting back on my usual amount of coffee.

The good news is that my soon-to-be-ex-husband finally started working on his return filing last week. It is due by the 18th.
THEN we have to have our mediation session out of the way and paperwork filed from that by July 25th. SO, each day is getting me closer.
Hail could freeze over and we reach an accommodation in mediation. Who knows.

I was having those awhile back! It got so bad I was actually giving myself CPR to get my heart back into a regular rhythm, it scared the bejeezes out of me. A friend suggested I was low on potassium and should try eating potatoes or bananas in a few meals to see if it helped. She was absolutely right, after two days my heart was completely back to normal. I try to regularly incorporate potassium rich foods now because it was terrifying giving myself CPR.

So, I have been having heart palpitations. I have a murmur and experienced the palpitations a lot growing up, but, not much as an adult.
Except when I was going through my first divorce. I went to the ER twice, convinced I was having a heart-attack.

It's been a bit off-putting when I've started to exercise, so I've stopped.
BUT, at the same time, the wellness DUH is getting to me. I should speak to my doctor about this. I KNOW the cause is psychological and stress-based, there is NOTHING wrong with asking my gp for an eval or a referral so I don't have to worry about the thing caused by the worrying about the thing.
