I'm back after taking time off from everything in late fall. I figure with the start of a new year - I need to give this a real try.

Warning - complaints and winging coming.
Had an appt yesterday with CFS specialist. He did do some bloodwork as my GP thinks my parathyroid is not functioning properly. Specialists can be sooooo bloody territorial. "What your gp is sending you to an Endo at that hospital - but that's a heart hospital. This hospital has Endos, in fact I do Endocrinology." Oh for **** sake - I don't care - I just want my body sorted to have less pain, and less fatigue. If you can help me, HELP me! Instead of making a commitment to seeing me though this, he finished our appt by saying "Assuming your blood work comes back normal, I think I'll refer you back to the care of your GP." Fine! I'm not finding you helpful anyways. My GP, Endo and CBT clinic have made a commitment and have been helpful. These appts with you have simply been a drain, while I listen to you complain about the lack of resources for your specialist area in the NHS. Thanks man. (Yeah, I'm a bit frustrated!).

I too am a teacher and when my girls have sport nights we take leftovers to our store and warm them in the microwave or we eat sandwiches like a ham sandwich. We are just proactive in our approach an channel that into planning ahead.

I have been working with Spark just a little over 3 months and I have lost 28 pounds and walked everyday for 99 days, tomorrow shall be a 100 days in a row.

Until this last week it was constantly outside in the weather cold, hot, snowy, or rainy but I spent 10 dollars on myself and bought a Leslie DVD to walk when it is too icy.

I make a point to either walk outside or walk with Leslie first thing in the morning, plus I started drinking 8 glasses of water a day and it has made the difference.
My jeans are looser, my shirts feel better, and overall I feel confident that I can continue to lose.

My first goal was to lose 27 pounds by Christmas and it was accomplished by Dec. 11, 2010. My next goal is to lose 43 pounds by my anniversary in late March. I feel like I can truly accomplish this with patience and endurance with my daily program.

Hi, my name is Kerry. I am 37 and have dealt with my weight since I was a teenager. So I have decided that the next year is going to be spent on losing weight and getting healthier. I went to the doctor's the other day for a checkup. He was pleased that I had lost 10 pounds since I was there six months ago. So that is my driving force to get on track again. I know it sounds silly, but being a special needs teacher and the stepmother of three teenagers who are in sports I have put myself on the backburner for a long time. Now I am trying to fit in 30 to 60 minutes a day of some form of excerise and eat healthier foods. It is really hard to try and do that when you have to eat out at a resturant on the night of your kids' sporting events. But I am going to do it! I look forward to getting to know you all and sharing in your successes for a healtheir you! emoticon

I exercise alot, but realize I have a problem sometimes eating junk food and definitely have a problem with soda. I need to take the eatign just as seriously as the exercise. I had a heatlhy dinner this evening, ran four miles and did a jazzercise session. It is good.

I KNEW that this would be a bad time for me to try to lose weight and I keep reminding myself that I am just kind of warming up, getting used to the site, using the nutrition tracker, etc. I am still feeling badly about how I look, but oh man, after using the nutrition tracker I understand why I am heavy! The other day I ate a meal at a restaurant (burger and fries), entered it in the tracker thingie, and it turned out to be more calories than I should have in a DAY! This was ONE MEAL, OMG! At least I know what I am dealing with, right?

Wow. I weighted myself yesterday 84.7kg.
At my heaviest I was 104 kgs.
I've lost 20kg - or approx 44lbs. Holy $%#& this spark stuff is working. I've been focused on the daily stuff, eating, walking, resting. I didn't realise I was that close to a major mile-stone. I'm very pleased and very motivated. Now to keep my expectations realistic.

I am uber stressed lately. Not just the holiday's and financial issues. but living with my uncle is sometimes really hard. Today he blew up at me bc I ASKED him (nicely I might add) to not TELL me what to do (come look at this, look this up, close the window) but to instead ASK me. it was a HUGE scene.

I am so stressed right now. So much to do and not enough time to do it. I did this to myself by waiting until the last minute. I'm soliciting prayers right now. I've really got to get this done.

Wow, today is turning into a hard day to keep myself from going over board with my eating. Of course, that's the reason why I'm on here to start with is I can't seem to control my munching.
My in-laws are planning on going to the gym with me tonight. I certainly hope they do. I have been longing to go, but am to chicken to go by myself. I don't know what changed to cause my change in attitude about going by myself.

I have never tried spinning. However, due to my ankle I don't think it would be beneficial for me to try it, but it does sound like fun.

Infobabe...spinning is awsome! it works wonders for your thighs and hips!!! I loved it! (i stopped when i found out we were expecting our second child and now we can't afford the gym anymore emoticon ). Make sure you keep as much of your upper body up and push thru your heels. It's a great workout! I am trying to convince my hubby that we should get a spin bike at home for me! we'll see!!! emoticon good luck with it!

Infobabe--Glad you're feeling better. I tried spinning four times in my life with the same result. My bottom was sore for at least a day after. I refuse to do it again. :) I do cardio on the treadmill or stationary bike. I hate the elliptical, as well. But I'm glad you found something that you liked. That's the key to sticking with a program.

hey everyone i haven't posted on here in a while due to health problems but i'm feeling better now and am back working out again. On dieting I've noticed alot of foods I like are full of sodium. Especially bread and somehow I'm craving salt. been drinking water with lemon and increasing intake of Vit C and D now that's it is getting colder. You all should try a spinning class at the gym it's a great workout.

Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right.

I'm not a big soda drinker, maybe 3 a week, but when I do it's Coke Zero. I love that stuff.

For the next 3 days, I'm challenging myself to 3 10 min. exercise sessions. I am moving more but haven't been doing any formal exercise. I bought a walk away the pounds video. I'm committing to 10 min. of the video each day. We'll see!

I should stop drinking soda altogether. But I have gone from drinking a 12 pk a week to about 5 in a month. I do use splenda in my hot tea. I have started drinking plenty of water...sometimes it's 9 or 10 glasses of plain water a day. (We don't keep anything else in the house except for milk and juice and juice is sugary so i only drink one glass of that maybe in a day or everyother day). I do agree that now when I drink my diet soda it is kinda sweet tasting. But I do enjoy it and I think that is the key. To learn to enjoy the drink and food in rotation not all at once.

I have a tough time with soda now, too. SO SWEET! I try to avoid the artificial sweeteners as well. My body knows what sugar is and knows how to process it (in moderation) so why mess with that? Not to mention that aspartame-based sweeteners tend to induce migraines for me.

I quit drinking soda cold turkey. It has been a little over 2 months and now I can't even stand to take a sip of one. Its amazing how much your taste for things change when you realize you don't need them. I was drinking 3 or 4 sodas a day, now i drink 5 or 6 bottles of water a day! If I am ever in the mood for something else, I drink hot tea with a little bit of sugar and cream...I don't do sugar substitues, I don't like how they taste.

Hello Everybody,
I'm 15lbs away from reaching my first goal and I gave myself a deadline to achieve this goal, which is December 20, 2010. For the next few weeks its all about me working out everyday at the YMCA and going from walking to running by December 20th. I can walk an easy three miles around the local lake here with no problem so I'm getting closer to goal number two on my list. Thank you guys for the much needed support.

Have a wonderful Sunday!!!!!

Hi Lisa. That is so exciting for you and you can so lose that 4lbs by your appointment. You have to stay away from the evil candy!! Everytime to want to pop a piece in your mouth just remember that happy dance that you want to do. You can do it.

I was going to sit on the computer for a while but I think I will head downstairs and play with the hula hoop.

Hi Guys! I just realised that I am 4 pounds away from no longer being OBESE!!!! I have my 6 month med check with my Dr on the 16th. I really really want to be merely OVERWEIGHT. I want to make him take the OBESE off my chart and dance on the exam table! haha... ok I am still too sore to do the dance! But I am definately going to do a happy wiggle!
So I really need to buckle down and stop eating the kids candy!
Hope all is well for you guys!!!
